I Have My Name!

Good morning friends!

Well, I have to say you blew me away with all the names for grandmothers you shared with me.

If you haven’t read my post about picking a name you can click here to catch up!

Who knew their were so many names for grandmothers and I love them all!

My sister and my daughter and I spent Tuesday afternoon calling me

different names trying to figure out which one fit.

I’m sure I’m stressing about this but I want to have one picked out

and then if Colt Allen changes it, that’s fine.

I’ve decided after a lot of thought to stick with the name that I had already picked out.

CiCi and my husband wants to be Pops.

My nieces and nephews call me Aunt CiCi and so Colt Allen will hear this name a lot.

I love the name GiGi but it’s so close to CiCi and I’m afraid I would confuse Colt Allen.

There’s a part of me that would like to go with a more traditional name but it doesn’t seem to fit.

I ran some by my husband and he didn’t think they fit either.

I get excited thinking about Colt Allen saying my name, but truthfully

there’s a much more important name I want to share with him and that is

JESUS

I want our sweet grandson to know that we love the Lord our God

with all our hearts and with all our souls and with all our minds.

Deuteronomy  11:18-19 says,

“Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands

and bind them on your foreheads.  Teach them to your children,

talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road,

when you lie down and when you get up.”

Oh my are we going to have fun telling Colt Allen about Jesus!

I can’t wait!!

Walking in His Grace,

Okay, tell me what you think??

  1. Couldn’t be more perfect… know they will become two of the
little guy’s favorite names and will be used often… picking names for new grandparents is almost as much fun as naming babies

  2. I just found your blog. I love the names you have chosen for you and your husband. We
are Nini (pronounced nee nee) and Papa. It is such a joy to hear the grandchildren call me
by name, you will love it. More than that it is wonderful to hear them speak of Jesus as
they learn of Him. Blessing to you and your family as you wait for your little grandson.

  3. You don’t look like you could be a grandmother Cyndi but Wayne looks like he could be Pops.

Give him my love and congrats to you all!

    Jody

  4. am so pleased from your visit and add, thank you so much. You are one the most beautiful person i have seen and God have blessed you and your family abundantly in Jesus name. stay well and joyful for more good things to come by….love u

  5. Love the name. I am NaNa. Only wish she was close enough for me to hear often. They live in Florida so visits are pretty far apart. I only hope she will remember me from visit to visit. She will be 1 in October.

  6. I love it! I too, have wondered what I will be called when that day comes. My oldest is almost 21, middle daughter is almost 19 fixing to leave for college and they baby is 11. I feel my time is running out. These are important matters…hehe. I am from Louisiana where we pretty much stick to MawMaw. That’s nice and all but not for me. I have always loved GeGe so we will see. Till then I will enjoy watching my babies grow into beautiful adults and trust in Gods schedule. No rush here..ha! Enjoy these precious times. I’m new to your blog and love it!

  7. I love it!! My Mom goes by “Lealea” (Lea is her middle name), and my step-dad goes by “Pops”…I think you guys made a great choice, and you are just going to continue falling in love with Colt once he arrives! Congratulations! 🙂

  8. I think it’s perfect, Cyndi! And like the said, the best name little Colt Allen could say is the name of Jesus. Many blessings!
