Pop Some Color To Help With The Winter Blahs!

Now that we’ve taken down the Christmas lights and decorations, the next few months can be kind of blah! I’m preparing for some cold and dreary days here in Kentucky. Winter seems to drag on forever and I’m always ready for warmer weather.

While warm weather and sunny days are several months away we can add some pops of color to our wardrobe to help us feel better. I have a lot of black and gray in my winter wardrobe so my goal for the next  few months is to add color. Ironically, on the day I took these pictures the sun was shining, which is why I’m squinting in every picture! 🙂

This is a black sweater from Kohl’s (Daisy Fuentes). It has black rosettes on it but you can’t see them in my pictures.

My daughter got me this adorable red purse (another one of my favorite colors) from TJ Maxx for Christmas.  I love it!

It definitely adds a pop of color to my black and white outfit!

I love this outfit on Pinterest. Look how they add a pop of pink to this outfit. Adorable!!

So what about you? Do you add color to your winter wardrobe?

Beauty For the Heart~~Yesterday I shared my one word for the year with you~~Focus. As I focus on Jesus, Philippians 3:10 comes to my mind. I love it in the Amplified Bible.

[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death.

Thank you for stopping by Walking in Grace and Beauty!

  1. Buddha Bags have been all the rage and I did see them pop up at TJMaxx!!! I also bought myself a red bag, a Fossil one, and that has really been a stretch for me because my friends call all of my clothes “beige and beiger!!!!”

  2. Love the pink and the red! I would have to really get outside my box to carry a really red purse, but I do love yours!! You can totally pull it off! 🙂

You look so much like your beautiful mom in these pictures!

    Happy New Year.

  3. Too cute! I already ran out and bought the red scarf you recommended a month or so ago. Now, I’ll have to find a red purse…

Thank you for your encouraging words.

Any chance in the near future you could give some tutorials about how you style your hair?? Please, please.

  4. Cute, cute purse, Cyndi ~ love that pop of red! I also wear a lot of black and gray in the winter, but I try to add a pop of color with a scarf or some other accessory.

Love your Beauty for the Heart today too. Many blessings!

  5. I too love red! I’m pretty neutral but am trying to add more color with accessories. I love scarves!
I just starting following your blog several months ago and I’m so glad I found you! So thankful for the way you put scriptures in your posts and how they should and can be such an important part of our everyday lives! Keep on inspiring us!

  6. Loving the red BAG!! I generally tend to stick with neutrals for my wardrobe (greys, blacks, browns, creams…) and add pops of color w/jewelry, scarves, shoes (I love red flats!). Sometimes my only pop of color is my fingernails!
