My Favorite Self Tanner~Jergens Natural Glow

This time of the year, I start to look pretty pale. I have an olive skin tone so I tan easy but in the winter time I look blah.

I don’t do tanning beds, ever! I see a dermatologist yearly and he has told me too many horror stories about tanning beds. I have had the spray on tans but I think they’re too expensive to do on a regular basis.

When I have time, I like to lay out when the weather gets warmer (our backyard is private and backs up to a farm so only the cows can see me (poor cows!). I do use a sunscreen, especially on my face.

Anyway, this time of the year I use Jergens Natural Glow express to help add  a natural looking summer glow.

Jergens Natural Glow gives you color almost immediately. The best part is that it doesn’t have a smell like some of the other self tanners. It’s relatively inexpensive~around $9 a bottle.

I usually only use it once a week because it gives me enough color. I use the medium to tan skin tones but if you have a fair complexion you will want to use the lighter one.

Do you use a self tanner? I’d love to know which one is your favorite!

Beauty For the Heart~This morning my devotion talked about trusting God even in the midst of trials. I immediately thought of my Mom who when faced with death said, “I don’t always understand God, but I trust Him”. And she did! She went to be with Jesus on Sept. 22, 2009.

Are you facing trials today or are you worried about the possibility of trials? Sometimes I’m guilty of worrying about what might happen before it ever does happen.

Psalm 112:7 says, “They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the LORD to care for them“. Let’s face today with confidence knowing that God will take care of us.

Thanks for stopping by friends!

  1. Hi, Cyndi! Love your blog! Just read today’s post about self tanners. I love, love, love the newest version of Jergens which has an SPF 20. In addition to the SPF it really doesn’t smell!!! Give it a try!

  2. I use the regular Jergen’s Natural Glow but it really does just that…give a very subtle glow…which I like because I am not orange but sometimes I would like a little more color. Does the express give more color?? I have ALWAYS wanted to go into some type of dentistry but now I am ‘having babies years’ so not much time for school.

  3. I am afraid to use tanners. I guess I have been told it will turn my skin orange. I should really try it though. I am a little washed out the older I get! Ha ha!

  4. My favorite is Jergens Natural Glow in the tube, but not the Express. The Express seemed too thick for me and didn’t work as well. Once I get the color I like I just use it a couple of times a week after showering. It has a pleasant smell too. I also like the Loreal Sublime Bronze tanning towelettes. They work good and fast! For my face I just use tinted moisturizer in the summer rather than foundation.

  5. Needed your beauty for the heart toda, Thanks Cyndi. Will try the sunless tanner in 2 weeks when we go on vacation. I am ghostly white will blend in with the sand…..=) Blessings!

  6. Hey Jill!
Wow! I would love to have your job! We must have graduated about the same time. I graduated in 1988. I practice 2 days a week for a general dentist. Our state does allow hygienists to administer local anesthesia but I have not gone back to get that certification. To be honest, I would love to fade out of it. I have been doing it for a long time and I’m kind of burnt out. That’s one of the reasons why I’d like to make money blogging but it’s not easy and takes a lot of work.
I wonder if the KBC has a mobile ministry?
    Thanks for stopping by!

  7. Hi Alli!! You are too sweet! I had no idea a college student would be reading my blog. What a wonderful and crazy time of life you’re in. God will take care of you today and everyday! Hang in there and focus on Him.
    Blessings,
    Cyndi

  8. Cyndi, I was just reading Courtney’s blog and I had no idea you were a hygienist! I am, too! I don’t think I’ve ever seen you mention that in one of your posts. I’ve been practicing for 23 years. I am currently working for the Ga. Baptist Convention with our Baptist Mobile Health Ministry. When I work with the unit I am working as a “Unit Coordinator”, not as a hygienist. It’s been nice to remain in dentistry but take a break from being the “cleaning lady”…ha, ha. I know a lot of hygienists hate that term:) You have to be able to laugh at yourself, though. I would love to hear about your job…how many days a week do you practice, can you administer local anesthesia, what type of dentist do you work for, etc… Thanks for sharing your heart with all us thru your wonderful blog!

  9. Ms. Cyndi! I am a college student and I love reading your blog! You are such an inspiration to everyone to be a beautiful Christian woman! I want to thank you for your Beauty for the Heart section today. I needed to remember that God will take care of ME today. You have made a difference in my heart today!
