My Blissdom 2012 Recap

Last week my sister and I headed to Nashville for the Blissdom Conference. This is the only picture we got of just the two of us.

We love going to blogging conferences because we get to meet our online friends. It’s hard to explain how much fun and crazy it is when you get 750+ women bloggers together.

As you can imagine there’s a lot of talking and laughing!

One of the main reasons I wanted to go to Blissdom this year was because Michael Hyatt was speaking. He’s the chairman of Thomas Nelson publishers and writes a leadership blog that I love to read.

Not only did I enjoy his conference but I also got a picture with him. Yeah!

Another person I wanted to meet was Kate from The Small Things Blog. I have mentioned her on my blog before because I love her hairstyle tutorials. She was very sweet and I’m glad I got to connect with her. Isn’t she cute?

Traci and I roomed with Tonya and Myra. I didn’t get a good picture with Myra so I’m using her picture on her blog.

We have met Myra many times and consider her a friend. She blogs at My Blessed Life and is absolutely a joy to be around!

She is smart (we always pick her brain about blogging stuff) beautiful and has a heart for Jesus. I can’t say enough about how much I love this girl!

I also can’t begin to tell you how much fun Traci and I had with these ladies and how much we adore them!

From L to R: Mandy from House of Rose, Susan from Living Rich on Less, and Tonya from Love of Family and Home (Tonya was our roommate).

We love reading their blogs but meeting them in real life was awesome! They are as sweet in person as they are on their blogs. Make sure you stop by and say hello!

Lastly, the highlight of my weekend was getting to have my picture taken with Rascal Flatts! They had a mini concert for us and then took these pictures. Too much fun!

I met so many more wonderful bloggers! This was not a christian blogging conference but most of the bloggers I met and know are christians.

I truly believe God is using christian bloggers to make a difference in the kingdom and I want to be a part of it!

Do you thing God can use the internet for His glory? I’d love to know what you think!

  1. My dear friend…you are just precious! I loved spending time with you, laughing, chatting, learning and…thinking that your hair looks REALLY good when you first get up. I really want your secret. ROFL! 🙂

Thank you for allowing me to room with y’all! It was a pleasure! xoxo

  2. It sounds like the conference was great! When I first was introduced to blogging, I was amazed at how many of the blogs I really liked were written by believers. Now that I think about it though, I think that it was Jesus shining through those blogs that attracted me to them in the first place. It is my prayer that Jesus shines through my blog just as brightly. Blessings to you!

  3. Becky,
I enjoyed meeting and breakfasting with you Saturday morning. I am so glad you told me about Michael Hyatt. I attended the “other” session with Tami Heim. She was wonderful. Later I looked up Michael Hyatt’s site. I’m glad I didn. Thanks for the referral.

  4. It seems like you all had such a great time! I’m so glad for all of you lovely ladies who blogged during the conference and tried to keep us connected to all the fun! I wish I had been able to go this year, but keeping my fingers crossed that the timing will be right for another of the upcoming conferences so that I get the chance to finally meet you! :O) xo

  5. Hey Becky!
I was so disappointed I didn’t get a picture of us together!! I’m so glad we had some time to chat and you too are as sweet in person as you are on your blog. We’ll definitely stay in touch! So glad to have a christian sister in California!!
    Blessings friend,

  7. Oh yes of course He can, or I wouldn’t be a blogger :)Satan uses the internet in so many ways, as Christians we can have a small part in redeeming it! I am so glad you had a wonderful time, and I so wish I could have been there to meet you and all those other wonderful bloggers. By the way, I like your midlife crisis 🙂 a LOT!

  8. Cyndi, you are too sweet. And YES! I believe God is using blogs to further His kingdom. By the way, I took an atrocious photo of my laundry room so that you wouldn’t feel so bad about yours. I’ll email it to you. I can’t wait to see your redone space so I have some inspiration for my upcoming laundry/craft room project.

  9. So jealous that you got to meet Rascal Flats! Love them. God is definitely using the internet and the blogs to further His Kingdom. He will use anything and anyone that allows themselves to be used. And I thank Him for that!

  10. Oh this makes me wish I would have been there! I love hearing about your time at Blissdom. And of course you know how I feel about God using the internet for His glory! God is moving and I want to be a part of it.

Love you sister! Can’t wait till we see each other again!
