What I Wore~Summer Sales

Happy Hump day! Yesterday I shared some fall fashion trends and today its back to summer with What I Wore.

This past weekend we were in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and I did some outlet shopping. We had a great time spending time with my husband’s family. It’s always interesting when you put 24 people in a chalet together. Let’s just say I think after 4 days we were all ready to head home!

Well, we did get to do some shopping, all summer clothing is on sale to get ready for fall/winter clothing so it’s a great time to snag some deals.

I purchased this black tank top at the Ann Taylor outlet. Can you ever have enough blank tank tops?

I also got these khaki capris at the Banana Republic outlet.

I’m definitely not going to win any fashion awards this week! I think I’m in a slump. It’s so hot and I don’t really feel like wear anything except tank tops! Maybe August will be better.

Have you shopped any of the summer sales?

Beauty For the Heart~~This morning as I was doing my devotion, I came across something my Mom had written in her Bible. Mom wrote in her Bibles as she studied scripture and I love seeing how God was speaking to her.

I was reading the scripture John 10:27, The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.

Mom had written this in the margin, “Jesus came to give us a better life than we ever believed! Jesus’ life is the best possible way to live! We want to live a life that leads on, after us.”

I couldn’t help but smile and think how Mom’s life continues to impact me. Her walk with Christ not only changed her but continues to change me.

So today, I’m thinking, will my life lead others to Christ long after I’m gone? Will your life lead others to Christ?

  1. Jeanine white tops are my favorite and I wear them all the time!! Now you’ve made me want to head to Kohl’s, I need some sun dresses. 🙂
    Have a great day!

  2. That’s funny!! I don’t know what’s wrong with me but I just seem to be wearing the same thing a lot, I think it’s the weather.
    Have a great day Linda!

  3. You know Cyndi, I’ve always steered away from black tank tops. I am not ivory fair, but certainly light/ medium. I’ve always bee afraid that the black would somehow make me look really pale and washed out. You tops are fabulous and you look GREAT in them. I’d like to have that 2nd outfit you have on from the tops to the khakis to the sandals, you look so summer chic! I’m with you on this heat! I have a short sleeve, short, washed, denim dress that is kind of a boxy cut, so comfortable. I’m washing that thing every evening so I can wear it the next day. Air can circulate and I can go outside without feeling too smothered. 107 degrees today!

  4. Love black tanks but in Texas I have learned to steer clear of anything that is dark in color, it feels so much hotter. I love white and natural tanks. I have been wearing a lot of sun dresses. Kohls has had some really cute ones this summer and I have bought a couple and love the comfort and they look adorable. Its a great alternative to shorts and capris and much cooler.

  5. For being in a slump, you look adorable. When I’m in a slump, I look like Willie Nelson! Ha. Stay cool. Linda
