It’s What I Wore Day

Happy hump day friends! It’s Wednesday and that means it’s What I Wore. Taking pictures of yourself is not easy, especially when you’re over 40, ahem several years over 40 but it does help you to see things you like and don’t like about what you’re wearing.

If there’s one theme to my summer fashion, it’s sleeveless tops. It’s been very hot here in Kentucky so that’s pretty much all I want to wear.

I wore this to church on Sunday. I love all the bright colors!

What has been your go to outfit this summer? Has it been hot where you live?

Beauty for the Heart~~My husband texted me yesterday and said you’ve got to read Colossians 3 in the Message version of the Bible. He said, “it fits your blog perfectly!” Don’t you love a man that gets excited about scripture?

Here is Colossians 3:12-14So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.

How cool is that? Love is our basic, all-purpose garment and we should never be without it! Physical clothes will come and go but the wardrobe hand picked by Christ will last forever. Amen!

(I realize some of you reading my blog may not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, but if you are interested in knowing more you can email me at cyndispivey(at)gmail(dot)com. I’d love to share with you.)

  1. Thanks so much for the tips and encouragement. I am 47 and feel like I am a fashion disaster these days. Thanks to you I feel like that I can get out of that rut and face Spring with a bright new wardrobe and attitude! God Bless You! 🙂
    Thanks again.

  2. Hey Joy!
I think that was the sun shining on a tree. But when I saw it I thought the same thing. It looks like fall! 🙂
    It will be here soon!
    Have a great weekend!

  3. Cyndi, you are one of the lucky ones-your skin tone looks great in warm or cool tones! Green and some blue shades, make me look sickly. I’ve got to stick with summer colors. (fair skin)

I love the scripture you added as well. Isn’t it our kindness, humility, and strength that attracts to others to us in a more sincere manner? I think so. Yes, it is nice to see a man get so excited about scripture. Amen.

  4. Love that colorful top, Cyndi! 🙂 Just a question… those top pictures, are those yellow leaves already?? It looks like fall! It’s been hot, hot, hot here in Canada too– my go-to outfit has just been a short jean skirt and tank top! I think….. I’m ready for fall 🙂
