Favorite “Pins” Friday-The Peplum

Is it Friday already? Wow the weeks seem to fly by. Here we are again–Favorite “Pins” Friday and today we’re going to talk about the peplum trend.

One of the fashion fall trends is the peplum look. The style is an extension of ladylike looks reminiscent of  the ’50s and ’60s styles. It’s a very feminine look.

This week I read that the peplum “looks like it has lasting power continuing into fall,” says Saks Fifth Avenue’s senior fashionor Colleen Sherin.

Here are some of the “pins” I found with the peplum look:

Not only is her leather peplum top adorable but I love her animal print pants.

Here’s a peplum top in animal print. Too cute!

Oh my, do I love polka dots! Look how cute this top is, and I love her initial necklace.

You can also find peplum skirts and jackets. I think I would have a hard time pulling off a peplum skirt because I think it would make my hips look too big. Also, if you’re very short waisted the peplum style is not recommended.

Have you tried this fashion trend? What do you think about the peplum?

Beauty For the Heart~~I was up very early this morning (4 am) because I had so much on my mind. My heart is heavy for friends who are having tests and dealing with life threatening illnesses. Life is fragile and each day is a gift.

Please know that I never take for granted that many of you reading my blog are going through a difficult season. When I write about fashion and beauty, I know that in the grand scheme of life that these are not the most important things.

So today if your heart is heavy and you’re going through a difficult season, I’m praying John 14:27 over you, Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Blessings to each of you!

  1. This is why I love your blog Cyndi… even if fashion & beauty are your passion, Jesus still shines thru more than that 🙂 Thank you, thank you! Thank you for caring and praying… yes, some seasons are heavy and filled with sadness, but thankful joy comes in the morning. Will be praying for your heavy heart, too, Cyndi! Love u!!

  2. Debbie that’s wonderful news! Remission is good!! Thank you for sharing it with me.
You should definitely get a Mac makeover. The ladies that work there usually wear crazy makeup but that’s part of their job. The young lady who did me was super sweet and she used neutral colors.
    Have a great weekend!

  3. You could definitely pull it off. I’m going to try to take a picture of me in one so people can see what it would look like on a middle aged slightly chunky women. 🙂

  4. I’m so sorry you are in the midst of this challenging time for your Dad, you and all of your family. I pray that he doesn’t get sick from the chemo, seems like there are many more medicines to treat that these days. My prayer is that the Lord grants your Dad some extra time in remission, every day can become so very precious. Lean on God, let Him hold you up or help you walk on days when it seems it’s impossible. He’s just waiting for you to call Him. Be blessed…

  5. I love that orange polka-dot peplum, how cute is that?! I don’t know how I’d look in the peplum style, but when it’s cute on someone, it’s really cute!

  6. My Dad had his second round of Chemo this past tuesday. So far not sick from it. Dr. says he can’t cure the lung cancer but hopes this puts it in remission for a while. Thank you for remembering him in your prayers. Love the beauty tips over the last few weeks. One day I want to get a makeover from Mac!

  7. I love your fashion updates. Even though the peplum style wouldn’t work for me, I love the animal print and polka dots. We have that in common. What other recommendations do you have for fall fashion – colors, etc.?

    Debbie
