4 Anti-Aging Tips For Your Face

Good morning! Lately I’ve received a lot of emails about anti-aging products. I’m certainly not an expert, but at 46, I’m always looking for things that will help with wrinkles. I know my skin is aging but I want my skin to look the best it can, so here are 4 anti-aging tips:

1. Use an eye cream with Retinol. Retinol is a key ingredient to help with wrinkles around our eyes such as crows feet. The first signs of aging are around the eyes. Retinol increases collagen and elasticity, and decreases fine lines. There are many eye creams with Retinol but I use OLAY Regenerist. It gets great reviews to help with anti-aging!

2. Use a moisturizer or foundation with a sun screen with an SPF of 15 or higher. There’s no question that the sun damages our skin. Sunscreen is one of the keys to radiant, youthful-looking skin. One of the articles I read said, “Sunscreen allows your skin time to heal and your immune system the chance to repair some existing damage.”  Yay!

3. Slough off dead skin on a weekly basis with a scrub made for the face. Exfoliating removes dead skin cells and outer layers of the skin and even helps keep your pores clean, leaving skin looking smoother. I use a daily exfoliant, Dermalogica and a weekly exfoliant, Mary Kay  Timewise Microdermabrasion Set.

4. Live a healthy, happy lifestyle. This is one is interesting. Obviously we can’t be happy everyday, but I think having a joy within is important. Stress does damage to our bodies and the more we stress the more it shows in our face and other parts of our body.

Eating a healthy diet and drinking lots of water also helps with our overall look. So eat those vegetable and fruit and stay away from high fructose foods.

Do you have any tips for wrinkles on our face? I’d love to hear from you!

Beauty For the Heart~~My devotion this morning reminded me that peace is found in spending time with Jesus, not in trying to control and plan my life.

Psalm 37:5-6 (NKJV), Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

I’m so thankful that He’s in control!

  1. Yes, these tips are great! I agree, to live a happy and healthy life because no matter how we apply creams to our faces and how much we take care of it when we are not healthy inside, it will still show.

  2. I like you try a lot of different things. I use Retinol products & recently my skin dried out and got flaky. I did some research and off some derm’s page, I found a tip to use a ceramide cream. I picked up the CeraVe nighttime renewing cream since it contained a lot of ceramides. That immediately helped with the dryness. I have several night time different products & rotate them sometimes. I use a Roc retinol serum too. I sleep on a silky pillowcase to make my hair last longer & not wash so much and always on my back. I use my Clarasonic brush every other day to not strip my skin also of natural oils since skin gets thinner as time goes on. So much to think about..ha!

  3. You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this
matter to be really something that I think I would never understand.
It seems too complex and very broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the
    hang of it!

  4. I absolutely love your site.. Very nice colors & theme.

Did you make this site yourself? Please reply back as I’m
attempting to create my own site and want to learn where you got this from
or just what the theme is called. Thank you!

  5. Eye cream. Oh, how I wish someone had told me to start earlier. I’m 41 and started using it around age 30. I wish I had started earlier. I don’t have any grand illusions of looking 20 years younger but that skin is so delicate and dehydrated. I tell all my friends in their 20’s to start early.

I use philosophy and like it but don’t LOVE it. Might try this Olay one next. I have used Olay moisturizer since college. Always with an SPF too. My mom has used it her whole life and she has great skin.

  6. Thanks for the tips! I use a lot of Mary Kay products. A few months ago I started using the MK Microdermabrasion Refine step 1 everyday. The difference in the smoothness of my skin is amazing.
