DIY Cap Toe Shoes

Good morning! I decided to do a DIY project this weekend and make a pair of cap toe shoes. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but cap toe shoes are everywhere.

Here’s a picture of pair of cap toe shoes that you can buy.

Now I’m not going to tell you this was super easy, but it could be because I’m not known to a great DIYer (is that a word?). I typically think it’s easier to buy it vs. making it. But I had a pair of shoes that I thought would work so I decided to give it a try!

I used painter’s tape and I added a paper towel so I wouldn’t get any splatter on my shoes. Make sure you press the tape firmly to the shoe so that the spray paint doesn’t leak under the tape.

This is the finished project. Not too bad but I did have to touch it up with some black shoe polish. I also got some paint on the bottom of the shoe so I won’t be kicking my heels up.

Do not try this unless you are okay with possibly messing up a pair of shoes. (This was the second pair I used, the first pair had to be trashed).

I had fun trying this and might attempt it on a pair of plain black flats that I have.

What do you think? Would you try this? Do you like the cap toe shoes?

Beauty For the Heart–Last night at church we talked about God being our refuge. When you have a crisis, where do you run first? I’m guilty of sometimes running to a family member, or a friend but no one can help me better that Jesus. He is my refuge!

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1

  1. I think I’d like them if they didn’t have a pointed toe. Don’t think I’d dare tackle the project myself, but yours turned out well.
