What I Wore-My Style

Good morning! I’ve been a little bad about taking pictures this week so I thought I’d share some pictures of  What I Wore over the last several weeks. A couple of the pictures you might have seen on other posts.

I love a little black dress and it’s one of the wardrobe essentials. It’s so easy to add accessories to and of course my favorite accessory this time of the year is a scarf.

The black turtleneck is another wardrobe essential and when the weather gets cold, I wear it all the time. I purchased this one from Kohl’s.  I paired my black turtleneck with a skirt (the skirt is shorter than I usually wear but with the black tights it’s not too noticeable, I hope) and black boots.

Don’t faint because this outfit is not black! I paired my off white cable knit sweater with cropped pants from Target. My scarf is an infinity scarf from Target too. The wedge heels are from Payless Shoe Source.

I read a lot of fashion blogs. I love to see what other women are wearing. Some are young and I might like their clothes but I probably won’t wear them. Some like Atlantic-Pacific wear clothes that I can’t afford but I still love looking at her blog.

I say all that to say thank you for stopping by my blog! I’m not a fashion model and I don’t wear the most expensive clothes but I hope I encourage you in some small way. You certainly bless me!

I love to chat on facebook, you can follow me on facebook here!

Beauty for the Heart~~Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings. Psalm 17:8 Did you know you’re the apple of God’s eye? He loves you!

Have a blessed day!

  1. I ordered that cute gray leopard coat from Old Navy and an Infinite scarf…LOVED it!! I never shop Old Navy but the price was perfect and even tho I’m only 5 ‘ 2″ it fit great!!! I’ve only been following you for about a month…,but just love your ideas…and really appreciate the spiritual side too!!! My mom was also a women of the Lord….lost her to Alzheimer’s…….so thankful for her love and influence in my life. I have tried to pass that on to my daughters as well. Blessings on your day!!

  2. Hi Phoebe!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I get a lot of my jeans at TJ Maxx. I can get good brands for cheaper prices. My favorite ones are DKNY.
    Have a great day!

  3. Teresa thank you for continuing to stop by! It does help in some ways if you subscribe only because the more subscribers, the more I can get companies etc. to work with me. But if you don’t want to do it please don’t feel you have to. Thank you for asking!
Also, are you asking about BB cream? I have done a post on Garnier BB cream, that’s the one I use if I’m not using my MAC.

  4. Cyndi girl! What a bunch of really cute outfits. I love how you accent your outfits with great scarves and the way you tie them. (tutorial, maybe?) I’m love the scarf you have on with the creamy beige sweater, rust colored slacks and great shoes. Such a good all around look! Keep showing us all of your great looks and finds. I agree with all of the ladies on this blog…you are a breath of fresh air to women 40+ who have been inundated with blogs for 20 year old women and your spiritual connection to who we are, what we wear and how we stay true to our God. Be blessed!!!

  5. Great outfits. I love the one with the tweed skirt and everything is black.
Yes, I feel the same way. I by no means have a model body or the age but I do love browsing blogs of all styles and ages and getting inspiration. I love converting their outfits to versions that suit my age and life style. I push the envelope in my own limits I guess.

  6. okay… so I am going to venture out and head on over to the new strip mall about 30 minues from me… BECAUSE…. they dared to build a KOHL’S and a TJ MAX just doors down from each other … and a TARGET.. just a couple of minutes down the road!!!! AND…… I love the looks you have been putting together and I see that you obviously love these stores!! Thank you cyndi for all these great posts!!! You look gorgeous in alllllll the outfits!!!! Terri

  7. I’m new to the blog, too, but I’m loving it! As another 46 year old – you definitely DON’T look it. Love your style!

  8. Hi Cyndi,

where you got your cute jeans. You are so cute and I appreciate your
    sharing your beauty tips.

  9. Hey Cyndi!

You look amazing in all the pics! You look very trendy, fashionable and current. I know I’ve said this before, but you certainly don’t look 46, so you could wear anything you like. 🙂

Have an amazing rest of your day.

  10. Well, I’m just happy I found your site and that it stuck as a habit, thank to your brillian 31 day marketing technique. the third outfit is adorable. I never think to wear sweaters with no socks; I guess my house is too cold! I also like how you’ve managed to coordinate your home with your outfits!
I have one question: I just go to your site on my own everyday. Is it better for you in some material way, if I’m a subscriber? I’m cool with doing that if it is, although I generally reserve it for sites that only post sporadically.
I wish you’d do a post on BB. There was a link to a great beauty make-up site during your series, but I can’t remember it now. It went through the pros and cons of the major dept and dimestore brands as well as the asian ones. Just seem like a good addition to our arsenals! CTD

  11. I have that black turtleneck and also have it in the lt. brown color too. I think a neutral cable knit sweater is a wardrobe staple too. It can be paired with so many outfits and never really goes out of style. Love all your outfits, especially the turtleneck & skirt. Have a similar necklace that I got from JCP that I wear with that turtleneck. Really enjoy your blog, Cyndi!

  12. Cyndi, I love your blog and get great fashion ideas! I’m wondering where you got the chain necklace that you’re wearing with the black turtleneck.

  13. Cyndi, thanks for posting your outfits. I am 50 and appreciate that you look current but not overly young. That is a fine line! 🙂
