3 Ways To Help With Winter Lips

Oh how winter kills my lips!! Cold weather makes my lips feel rough and chapped and I like them to feel soft and smooth. Here are 3 ways to help with winter lips.

1. Keep lip balm or lipstick on your lips, especially when you go outside! My lips will dry out quick without something on them in the cold winter air.

I keep eos Lip Balm on my nightstand and before I go to bed I put the lip balm on my lipseos lip balm is 95% organic, 100% natural, and paraben and petrolatum free. Packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil, eos keeps your lips moist, soft and sensationally smooth.

2. Don’t lick your lips. Why do we want to lick our lips? I guess to add moisture but licking our lips will chap them quickly, so just say no!

3. Drink lots of water. The most important thing to do is to drink enough water every day. Chapped lips can be a sign of dehydration. Caffeine can aid in dehydration and during the winter months I drink more coffee (caffeine) so it’s importnat to drink a lot of water!

Do your lips get chapped in the winter months? What do you use to help?

  1. I love Carmex and also Mary Kay’s Satin Lips are great to exfoliate if they’re already chapped–but I’m sure you know that 🙂

  2. I’d never heard of this before, but maybe now Santa will stuff my stocking with some. I usually use Burt’s Bees, plain or with colour. I always have some on hand.
BTW, I bought and tried the Garnier BB today…beautiful so far. thanks for the heads up on that.CTD

  3. Thanks for the tips Cyndi! I do suffer occassionally. My daughter, who is 3, has chapped lips all of the time. I will try the EOS! Thanks for sharing.

  4. Hi Cyndi, My lips turn into dry, red, peeling skin in the winter. Many times they are so chapped, I can’t even wear lipstick. Like you, I discovered EOS last winter. My saving grace! I go through about 1 ‘egg’ every two weeks, but I must have it several times a day. My 3 yr. old grandson was suffers terribly from chapped lips. My daughter had gotten some Rx from his pediatrician that was no help at all. I told her to try the EOS on him and it has worked marvelously. He loves his little ‘egg’ and knows right where Mommy keeps it. When his lips hurt, he goes to her desk, get his ‘egg’, puts some on and puts it right back where Mommy keeps it. He happens to be partial to the Tangerine. I’m a Summer Fruit girl myself.
