What I Wore-My Style

Happy Hump Day! It’s What I Wore and I knew it would happen. I’m starting to get tired of my winter clothes. Not only am I getting tired of them, I’m wearing some that I’ve already shared earlier in the season.

I do re-wear all of my clothes and I don’t buy new clothes every week. So, that means you may have seen some of these outfits. I hope you understand. 🙂

It has been cold the last couple of days so this black turtleneck with an off white sweater over it felt good and warm.

Do you get tired of your winter clothes this time of the year?

Beauty For the Heart~~Yesterday, I read Proverbs 3:5-6. I was reading from one of my Mom’s bibles and she had written this in the margin, “Lean into God! When you can’t see His hand, trust His heart.” What sweet words!

Have a blessed day!

  1. Hey Cyndi:

I just recently found your site as well, and I just love all the looks/products you have shared. Thanks! 🙂 Also, I just wanted to let you and others know that the sweater dress (so cute and glad they are back in style) is still on sale at Banana Republic – online today with a 30% discount on top of it ! You can not beat that ~ I can not wait until mine comes in. It is even more fun when you get what you want on sale ~ yeah!!!! Have a wonderful and blessed weekend! 🙂

  2. Lindy I didn’t find that they ran small. I usually wear a 7 1/2 and that’s what I ordered and they fit perfect. I can wear thins socks with them too. I really like mine, they zip up in the back. They’re easy to get on and off and they’re comfortable.
    I hope that helps!
    Cyndi

  3. Thanks Gina! I totally agree with you, I think I look better in fall/winter clothes too. My worse season is spring. I look pale and blah! I’m going to have to work on it this year.
    Have a great weekend,
    Cyndi

  4. Heather I’m 5’6″. But I think you can pull the boot look off. I wrote this on a previous comment:
1.Shorter women can wear tall boots just make sure it’s a pair of pointed-toe boots which really helps to elongate short legs. The pointed toe makes your feet appear longer, slenderer and creates a long, slim leg line.
    2. Wear as high of a heel boot as you can. Obviously creates a tall, thinner look.
    3. Ankle boots are a prime style of boots for shorter gals. The ankle boot hits just around ankle-level, so most of your legs aren’t covered up.
    I hope this helps,
    Cyndi

  5. Teresa I have read that short boots look good on shorter women, but I agree they do seem to make me look shorter and dumpier. Which is why you haven’t seen me wearing them.
As always thank you for stopping by! I love all your insight!
    Blessings,
    Cyndi

  6. Laura, two things:

  7. Love that sweater dress, I want to ask a question I have a burgundy sweater dress. Would a white shirt like that look good under it with grey boots, I have those you got in grey instead of tan..

  8. Cyndi! You look so cute in every one of those outfits! You know how to mix and match pieces and accessories so it looks like you’re wearing a new outfit every time. Interestingly, I have more winter clothes than summer, even though in Missouri our weather starts getting warm by April/May and is hot through October. I think I just like winter clothing better. I get tired of my summer clothes much more quickly than the others. I think I might be a square peg in a round hole on this one!

  9. Hi Cyndi,
All your outfits look great! I read the reviews on your “outlaw” boots, alot of women mentioned the boots ran abit small. Did you find that to be true?
    Thanks Cyndi 🙂

  10. Hi Cyndi.

You look amazing in that first outfit and the sweater dress! Of course, you look great in all of your outfits. I love the spring/summer weather, but I do love the fall/winter clothes the most! I love jeans, boots, and sweaters. I never feel as though the summer clothes are as cute…on me. I am going to wear my white jeans tomorrow, as I read a blog showing white jeans, white shirt, and black boots, belt and scarf. I think I will love it. I do love that we can wear white jeans all year long now.

Hope you have a great afternoon/evening. Thanks for sharing.
    Gina

  11. Cyndi, I love the ideas for layers. This time of year is so cold, I just wear turtlenecks to stay warm. I like your ideas. Also, love the boots. How tall are you? I am 5′ 3″ and am just wondering if I can pull the boot look off as well as you do! 🙂

  12. Well, I didn’t think getting older was affecting my memory yet, but all those outfits look new to me! I actually never get tired of my clothes. Maybe that means I have too many. I usually pll out a few things at the beginning of each season that I think will go well together and go from there. However, since my boiler has broken and is on back order due to Sandy, once I get home I only care about WARMTH, not fashion! So it’s down booties and lined running pants and my down robe for me.
regarding Laura’s comment, I think you have to try alot of boots on to find a pair that hits at the right place. My mom had this problem, but would eventually find a pair. I think the tall boots are lengthening. I like the short ones, but feel they make my legs look shorter which is why these super leggy models look good in them.
Cyndi, all your outfits are so cute and wearable this week.

  13. Love your outfits you look fab in each one! I especially like the navy top from Old Navy, really cute!
Always love to hear you speak of your mom too♥

  14. I like all your outfits. I only recently found your blog. I’m a 41 year old mom of 2 elementary aged children. In the last 4 months, I’ve lost nearly 30 pounds, and would like to lose another 15-20. I’m gathering ideas for new clothes, but for now need some transitional items until I settle into a size for the long term. Thanks for all the great ideas. Layering is great! I’m finally more comfortable with it, since I won’t look so bulky now.
p.s. It’s cold this week in MN. -15 F yesterday morning. Yikes!

  15. I have a red sweater dress (almost exact same style) that I just didn’t know what to do with this winter. (same ‘ol, same ‘ol) I’m going to try the blouse under it this Sunday with the black wedge boots. Thanks for the idea! 🙂

  16. Love that you show us how to layer.
I have a question: I’m too short to wear tall boots. What type of shoes would you suggest wearing with something like your sweater dress? Love that look, but need help in knowing what shoe “I” should wear. Thanks for any help.

  17. I love your outfits!!! I love all the layering you did in these posts…..especially with the white button down shirt. Glad to know you are just like the rest of us wearing things over:). Hey a lot of the times I wear the same things over in the same week:)

  18. I’m weird…I love summer but really love wearing my jeans in the winter. I’m not sure how I’ll keep doing this WIWW during the summer.
