Maybelline Color Whisper Lipcolor

Maybelline Color Whisper

I have an addiction to lipstick. I’m always trying different brands, and different colors. I keep between 4 and 5 lipcolors in my purse at all times. So when I saw several bloggers talking about Maybelline Color Whisper, I had to try it, right?

It seems lots of people have heard about it because when I went to Wal-Mart to purchase the lipcolor, there were very few colors to choose from. Everyone is trying it!

Maybelline’s color whisper lipcolor claims to have pure color pigments suspended in a weightless gel. It delivers soft, see through color with a touch of shine, without the heavy waxes & oils found in traditional lipcolor.

I tried two colors: Lust For Blush and Mocha Muse.

I think I like the Lust For Blush color the best. Color Whisper glides on easily which feels wonderful but it has a tendency to glide right into those pesky little lines around my lips and that’s not pretty.

My solution is to add a light lipliner before applying. I did have to re-apply it throughout the day because the color doesn’t last long. Overall I like it and I’ll probably use it.

  1. I will give this a try. Cyndi you should do a video on how you apply your makeup like you did on your hair would love to see

  2. Mark Kay’s Mocha Freeze lipstick. Goes with everything and if I want to add alittle something to the color I use a lip gloss in any color. I’ve heard that the darker colors (which I love) age us 40+ women so I am trying to avoid them from now on. I also LOVE L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche leGloss in Chocolate Obsession. Perfect color for any time of the year and goes with anything. I love your blog Cyndi and can’t wait each day to see what you are writing about!

  3. I always use lip liner, even if I’m just following up with Carmex! I’ve been using Burts Bees for the last year or two and I do like it. But I think i’ll give this a shot, too. Can’t ever have too many lip colors, right?

  4. I am certainly enjoying the Maybelline NY expert wear eye shadows duos 70d brown tones chic naturals, the L’Oreal infallible never fail eyeliner in brown, Maybelline lash discovery mascara you recommended a while back. I also use Clininique concealer, double face powder and their blush-new clover. I LOVE Clinique’s raspberry glaze’ lipstick and velvet rose lip liner. Best color for me ever.
I look forward to trying some of your new suggestions.

  5. Love, love, love Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters….they feel so smooth on your lips, deposit beautiful colour and best of all – they last on your lips longer than gloss! I love Pink Truffle, and Peach Parfait….they feed my lipstick/gloss addiction!

  6. Maybe I’ll give this a try and hopefully won’t have one more addition to the lipstick graveyard. Lipstick colour is so hard to get right. If the undertone is wrong, it can be so aging. Then it needs to be soft and lasting and everything else. Then, of course, as soon as I find one I like they discontinue it.
BTW, I had a brownish Clinique hanging around that I NEVER wore, but gave it another try after your post on browny lipcolour. IT still looked bad and was dry from age, but after I put a sheer gloss on top, it was perfect and is now my go-to choice. (Urrrg! After all this time I’m sure it, too, is discontinued!) Thanks for that post as I never would have imagined how good it could look. CTD

  7. I have not tried this new lipcolor…yet. I’ve been wanting to but forget to pick it up whenever I’m in Target. It sounds like the type of lightweight lip color I’d like. I tend to go for tinted balms since I’m “at that age” when color tends to bleed into lip lines. I’ve noticed I have less trouble with tinted balms.

  8. I LOVE Covergirl outlast. Its the kind with the two different tubes, one color that you apply, wait 2 minutes then apply the second which is a clear gloss, but its not sticky or too “glossy”. It really last and doesnt get into the fine lines. I do have to keep reapplying the clear gloss on top of the color. I also really like Revlon Kissable Color Balm (in Honey) and Neutrogena color sticks (I like those big color sticks). PS…I really like you and enjoy your beauty adivce for those of us over 40… make a blog post about your skin care toutine and morning routine? products used specifically, etc?

  9. Mary Kay makes a great clear lip liner. I use it with all lip colors and it keeps lipcolor from settling in the lines and wrinkles around my lips.
