What I Wore-My Style

Happy Wednesday! Today I’m sharing What I Wore-My Style. I’m still in a bit of a rut lately. I need Spring! I’m trying to mix and match my winter clothes but nothing seems to look right.

One of my readers asked if I would share more pictures wearing dress pants. I thought that would be easy, but to be honest I don’t wear them a lot. I either wear dark jeans or dresses/skirts.

I love to wear my boots so my jeans work great. With my dress pants I have to wear flats and I feel frumpy. I’ve realized I need dress pants that I can wear a heel with. I think I would like that better. So I have been looking to incorporate dress pants into my wardrobe.

Yesterday I shared my lace cardigan with you.

What I Wore- My Style

I also paired that lace cardigan with a black pencil skirt and black boots for church. Black or gray dress pants would have worked with this too.

What I Wore- My Style

I purchased this polka dot sweater from Old Navy several months ago. It’s comfortable and of course I love polka dots.

What I Wore-My Style

What about you, do you wear dress pants/trousers? Do you have a favorite brand? I’d love to know!

  1. Cyndi,
I came across your website and I LOVE it!! I too love fashion and Jesus!!! Keep it up!!
I want to ask a question…do you think scarves will be popular for spring 2013…I love them? thoughts?

  2. I love Daisy Fuentes Industry pants from Kohls. I like the fabric of the dark grey. I purchased them several years ago and they still look great. I can wear them in the winter or summer. I always wear a heels with them. I looked at Kohls today and they only come in plus sizes now. I wear petite and it is very hard to find anything in petite plus sizes. The waist is perfect and not too small. I wear a lot of Dark grey and black dress pants. Just in different styles. It makes it easy to coordinate with a sweater and scarf in the winter.

  3. I am a tall too and have struggled for years to find pants long enough. I discovered NY & Co. and they have jeans and dress pants that are plenty long enough! I love their wide leg dress pants!

  4. Cyndi! You look so cute in your new black and white sweater with jeans and boots! Of course, you have it perfectly accessorized with your scarf. The polka-dot sweater and jeans is a cute look and I think it works for a long time into this partly Spring-partly Winter weather. I think your yellow bubble necklace would look great with that also. You have plenty of time for Spring. Your creativity with putting together darling outfits no matter the temperature or time of year is spilling out all over. Judith

  5. I like that you shared that you buy pants from Walmart but I am a “tall” and I find it challenging to find long pants there. I usually have to buy dress pants at Kohl’s or Fashion Bug. I like Gloria Vanderbilt pants at Kohl’s.

  6. Hi Cyndi.

You look beautiful, as usual. 🙂

I love dress pants, but not the corporate look. I love Express Editor pants, NY & Company pants, Banana Republic and Gap. They all have that great modern fit without looking like I’m wearing my grandmother’s pants. Today’s grandmother’s don’t even wear those anymore. LOL Express Editor pants are by far my favorite, and my favorite look is a pair of black pants, black vneck stretchy t, and ankle boots. It is my signature classic. 🙂

    Hope your week is awesome.
    Gina

  7. I used to work in our school system and usually wore dress pants. I like the Riders or Lee brand. Now that I am at home, I wear denim Rider pants. I don’t like wearing pants that are cut low and because I feel like my hips are heavy, I don’t wear any pants/slacks that are at all tight. I don’t own any boots…but I have a couple of pair of Sketcher Mary Jane type of shoes that I wear with dress pants.

Winter in Montana is cold, so I usually wear slacks to church, but come spring and summer, I wear a lot of skirts with sandals or low heeled pumps.

Thanks for your ideas and also sharing your faith in God.

  8. Thanks Cyndi….
Those do look awesome and they come in tall Yay!!!
I will be getting me some…as soon as they are back in stock ;(

  9. thank you for sharing your ideas. thanks to you, i am getting some wear out of my grey suede tall boots I lucked up on getting at a Talbots sale for $15 🙂

I do wear dress pants – although sparingly. I prefer dresses or blue jeans.

My favorite brands are Talbots (the silk ones in bright colors) and banana republic. Occasionally, I will find some jcrew pants that rock my world.

I am a bit nervous – but because you tried it… I am trying it, too. Stitchfix. My first box comes next week. EEEEEK

  10. Hi Cyndi! You look wonderful in your outfits! I don’t have many trousers because I have a hard time finding dress pants I like. However, in the fall I bought some very nice black Banana Republic Ryan Fit trousers at a BR Outlet store. I love them! I even tried to order some online but they don’t carry that fit anymore. If I can get to an outlet, I will definitely be buying them in all colors if they still carry them!

  11. Since I’m a teacher, I have to wear nice clothes. I wear a lot of corduroys; they’re comfortable and look nice. Just don’t like the sound they make when I walk.:) St.John’s Bay petite from JCPenney fit me best because I am so short. I have the same problem as the commentor above: all of my jeans look baggy when I tuck the boots in and the low-rise skinny jeans are way too uncomfortable. Feels like my pants are falling down and they don’t compliment my figure.

  12. I love the jeans in the boots. What style jeans are you wearing in the picture. All my jeans (even straight legged) are baggy and I look like I’m wearing jodhpurs. All the skinny leg jeans I can fine are low rise and well, that just isn’t pleasant for anyone.

    Thanks.
