Metallic Trend For Fall 2013

One of the season’s hot trends this fall is the metallic trend. You’ll find it popping up on shoes, skirts, tops, handbags and more. I always love how the models pose with the latest trends. Who would want to wear that? Is it just me??

Let me bring it down to reality. Everyday, mom style. The way I can wear it and feel fashionable and normal.

I recently received this Kensie metallic polka dot blouse in one of my Stitch Fix boxes. I was so excited because it was perfect for fall and it had just enough metallic.

I love the high/low hemline. It hides a multitude of stuff! 🙂

I might not be wearing a metallic dress or skirt but a metallic polka dot blouse is just the right amount of metallic for me.

Have you tried the metallic trend yet? How would you wear it?

Beauty For the Heart~~My verse in my devotional book this morning was a good reminder for me. “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Matthew 7:1-2

Have a blessed day!

  1. I love the metallic trend! Like you, I’m over 40 and I don’t think that metallic skirt would suit me… But I love metallic details on handbags and tops. And I have a fabulous pair of metallic sandals that I wear with just about everything! My latest, fun addition is a pair of smoking slippers with silver studs. LOVE! Keep up the blogging. I enjoy your posts!

  2. Very tasteful way to wear metal. You rocked it! At 56 I could never wear one whole piece of metal clothing! I do have sandals. Could maybe (?) do a purse. And you have nothing to hide dear one! I also like the high low! A heart of gold is the most wonderful way to wear metallic!! Be loyal and consistent. Add a new friend to your lunch bunch. The older we get the fewer invitations we seem to receive. <3

  3. Love the shirt on you!

I found a burgundy sweatshirt type sweater with metallic throughout the front. It is all tonal. I plan to go back to get it. 🙂

Thanks for sharing and keeping it real. 🙂

  4. Hope it is okay to reply here. I believe that a caring heart and a loving attitude are key if you decide to take to someone.

  5. Heart Beauty — something I still feel challenged about. There are those times when a sister can use some loving advice but it is so hard especially when they use this verse to make you feel guilty about speaking with them. fine line with judging and discernment. How do you handle this ?do you have any markers or questions you use to determine when to speak and when to be silent. I definitely pray about it but sometimes wonder if I am taking the easy way out by not stepping up

  6. The blouse looks cute on you and I too love the fact that it hides stuff. Sometimes I feel they look baggy on “me” unless the sides are more fitted. And yes…where did you get your jeans and what kind of shoes will you wear with them once sandal weather is over?

  7. You look cute, as always. Wish I could embrace the loose look. 🙁
I love metallic, especially in shoes and belts. I have some cute bronze flats and they seem to go with everything in the fall and winter. They’re especially great with jeans.. I wore my vintage gold leaf sandals all summe. I gues if I divide they $ by the yrs I’ve owned them, they were practically free by no.

I’m with you; I can never understand why these models look so miserable wearing these beautiful clothes. I guess the people buying them must be above smiling. I want clothes that make me feel GOOD, not want to huddle in an empty room.

  8. That first picture is just awkward! HA! I love the polka dot top though. That is doable. I love that you said it hides “stuff.” LOL!

  9. I was fortunate enough to get that same blouse from Sitch and fix. I have been hoping you would show how to wear it. Hope you show some other ways to wear it around the holidays too. Thanks! Now I just need to find some fun gold ear rings like you are wearing.

  10. I have similar metallic sandals and I’ve worn them with everything, all summer. As to Full On Metallic, I don’t think I need that much attention, so I think I’d keep it as an accent – the dots on the blouse are cute AND classy. That’s also a nice length on the hi-lo – so many of the tops with that hemline are too long and are only good for teens with tiny butts!

  11. Adore that blouse!!! Perfect for you. I think the high-low his is wonderful too. I have a few shirts like that and really appreciate the hiding aspect. ha!
