8 Fall 2013 Makeup Trends {Part 2}

31 Days of Fall Fashion & Beauty Tips
Hello! It’s Day 5 of 31 Days Of Fall Fashion & Beauty Tips! Yesterday I shared four of the 8 Fall 2013 Makeup Trends, so today I’ll share the rest of them with you. Let’s get started!

5. Pink or peach blush-This is a look I can go with! Soft pink and peach blushes seem to be the trend. So ditch those brown and dark blushes for a pink or peach.

A pretty blush that is perfect for fall! There are several colors to choose from.

6. The Cat Eye- Look how cute she looks with the cat eye. I’m afraid my line would be uneven because I would be trying to dodge all those pesky fine lines! 🙂

This is on my list of things to purchase! This eyeliner gel gets great reviews!! I would purchase a brown color, not black.

7. The Smokey Eye- Oh boy I cannot pull this look off! I look like I’ve got dark circles for miles when I try this. But if you can do it, go for it!

8. Orangey Eye Shadow- I kind of like this look. If I add a touch of orangey eye shadow, I might could pull this off. Remember if you’re over 40, be careful about adding too much color to your eyes. Neutrals seem to work best for our age. Also don’t try to match your eye shadow to your outfit. Matchy Matchy is old lady (yikes, did I just say that?)

Alrighty, that’s the rest of the makeup trends. Of course, there are some I left out like glitter eyes and lines drawn in strange places but they’re way too out there.

What do you think about these looks? Can you pull off the smokey eye?

Some of you have emailed me about good brushes. This set has good reviews and is a pretty good price so I thought I’d share it with you. (click on the picture and it will take you to Sephora.)

  1. I think the cat eye look is so classy, especially when done with gel eyeliner. I would wear it, but it gets cancelled out by my glasses. : ( My neighbor does hers perfectly and her eyes look gorgeous. The orange eye shadow is kind of dicey for me. I just happened to read a few days ago about orange eye shadow being a Fall 2013 makeup trend. The model in your picture wears it well, very sheer and it complements her eye color. The model I saw had very blue eyes and though she wore a sheer orange shadow, her coloring just looked “off”. I didn’t care for her look at all. Since I have blue eyes, I think I would probably look like her, although it would be fun to try! Bless you friend.

  2. The smoky-eye is my fav since I use it most of the time. My eyes are the type that one doesn’t notice my eye shadow at all so I use the smoky-eye all the time. My daughter who is 16 loves the cat eye look only not to that extreme…more just a liner across the top and out the side just a tad bit.
I would like to know of a great mascara, non smelling, and waterproof. I have used one from Maybelline for many years at approximately $8 or so each, and now they have taken that one off the shelf and I am finding it hard to choose a new brand. Any suggestions for me?
One other question…about this Whole Body Garcinia Cambogia? Is it safe? I am getting ready to order it online and would like to have some personal opinions. Please & thank you much…love your blog Cindi!!

  3. I kind of like the cat eye but I doubt I could pull it off. I’m not a fan of the smokey eye or the orange shadow. Not for me at least.

  4. I like the soft look of the first picture. The smoky eye isn’t for me but I like it on young women if its done well. I use an eyeshadow for my eyeliner and do extend it a little in the corner of my eye. I have greenish hazel eyes and use a deep eggplant eyeshadow for the liner. It works great for me; adds depth but not harsh – I definitely have laugh lines around my eyes!! The really dark lips or almost white lips are not for me. Those really whitish lips look like a throw back to the early 70’s to me!! I love your blog and appreciate the time you spend to find tips and ideas to share with us 🙂

  5. I like all these looks except for maybe the orange eye. Not for my complexion. I do an abbreviated cat eye…I kind of think a stark one is aging? or maybe it’s just the bouffant hairstyle in the pic. Love the smokey eye, thick brows and pink blush. The model in the first shot is ethereally beautiful…the kiss of youth. I’m hoping it’s due to the makeup and photoshop. I do not like the dead lip look they’re showing, however. That’s a trend that needs to go away.

  6. I like the blush colors. I couldn’t pull off the smokey eye look but it sure would be a good way to cover up my dark circles. LOL

  7. No smoky eyes for me. And that cat eye liner would smear for sure on me. What a sight that would be. Pink or peach blush is about all I can wear (fair), so I guess I’ll grab onto that one!

  8. I’m afraid of the smokey eye, though I love the way it looks! I’d probably end up looking like that mom in the commercial — lol! Happy to see softer blush colors coming back though. Enjoy your weekend, Cyndi!
