Fashion Over 40-What I Wore

It’s hump day and that means I’m sharing some of my fashion over 40 with you.

It was an interesting week. I wore boots, cardigans, and I obviously had a thing for the colors, gold and navy. Oh well!

It’s definitely sweater and boots weather around here! Do you wear a lot of sweaters and boots? Or is it just me?

Beauty For the Heart~~In 2009 we lost my Mom to gastric cancer. Her  life and her death made such an impact on my life.

She said some things during her illness that I will never forget. One of them I found written in her Bible this week. It was this “tears are liquid prayers flowing straight into the heart of God.”

It was written near this verse, Psalm 56:8You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle.

What a sweet reminder! If you have been shedding tears, it has not  gone unnoticed by your Heavenly Father. He sees, he know and he cares!

Have a blessed day!

  1. Midshipman’s store online or in person if you are close to Annapolis. My husband is a Naval Academy graduate as well and, to my delight, now on staff at the Academy. I Love love love the color combo as well

  2. I lost my mother in 96, to cancer and she is still always on my mind, in my heart, and a song on my lips. She was a soprano in a trio of ladies called “The Sunshine Trio” back in the 50-80’s…and taught us girls to sing. I know she is in Heaven singing with her heavenly father as we speak. Thank goodness she can no longer see what is going on here on earth, or that would not be Heaven to her. 🙂

  3. Cindi, I loved all your outfits but my favorite one was the first one . You brought out the color of the gold from the sweater cardigan into the scarf!! Loved it! You are beautiful in all your outfits!! <3

  4. I love all of your outfits. The gold is a perfect fall color. I have a gold cardigan that I wear with the same color tank underneath. It looks great with brown boots. Gold and blue were my HS colors.

  5. cute cute cute – especially the first gold and navy outfit. i wish i had known ur momma – she obviously was a very special lady. and, i love how she still speaks to you thru her Bible.

  6. Hi Cyndi.

You look great in all of your outfits, but I especially like the blue and green on you. I don’t wear gold or mustard because I do not have the skin tone for it. I am still in a black, burgundy, grey phase! Of course, I think the black is a year round phase for me. LOL I do usually incorporate some red at Christmas. 🙂

Thanks for sharing. Have a great rest of your week.

  7. I love the blue and gold combos, especially the first one! The verse Psalm 56:8 is so precious to me. I heard an unforgettable sermon on that once that so impressed me. I get teased about being a instant crier (I can’t help it!). So, my sisters tell me God must have a room for all of my bottles. HA! When my middle son was a toddler, he once said to me while I was crying, “Mommy, why is there sad stuff running down your face?” I’ll never forget that either.

  8. These are all great outfits! I am very much a sweater, scarves and boots girl this time of year. Only thing is I need a very warm coat over all of it 🙂 We have about 2 feet of snow and it was -25 C this morning with the wind chill!

  9. My son is also a Naval Academy grad. I agree with Krista on the sweatshirt and jerseys. I owned a fair amount of navy and gold while Drew was at Annapolis. Both of Cyndi’s sweater and scarf sets would be perfect to cheer on the Midshipmen!

  10. I just loved your first cardi in yellow and navy and thought I REALLY needed one like that as they are the colours of our footy team and then…..I saw the third photo with that gorgeous gold cardi and I really was in love. It is just gorgeous. We are coming into summer now but I really do have a soft spot for gorgeous boots, jumpers and scarves.

  11. Hi Cyndi! Boots and sweaters and scarves…. I’m right there with you! I love that you shared your navy and gold… My husband is a Naval Academy graduate. We will most likely be going to the Armed Forces Bowl that Navy will play in at the end of Dec. I always struggle with what to wear to games like that. I’m not really a sweatshirt of jersey type. Either of your outfits would be great:) I’m going to look for some similar sweaters and scarves for game day:) Thank you for sharing the lovely quote from your Mom and scripture reference!!! Blessings Krista
