My One Black Friday Purchase!

Good Monday Morning!! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I know a lot of you went Black Friday shopping but I decided to decorate my house for Christmas, so I didn’t go this year.

I did purchase one thing on Black Friday and I did it online. Of course it wasn’t a Christmas gift, it was for me so I’m not sure that counts. 🙂

Most of you know, I love makeup!  I wear Cover Fx foundation and primer and I love it.

But, when Cara (her blog is Maskcara) said she had a new line of foundation I knew I wanted to give it a try.

If you don’t follow her blog, you need to. Cara is an amazing makeup artist. She’s where I first heard about highlighting and contouring. She’s passionate about it!

So passionate about it, that she’s created her own line of makeup!

Cara created a IIID foundation. It has the contouring foundation and the highlighter concealer all in one compact. I can’t wait to try it!

She also has a cream blush (cream blush is great for women over 40!) and an illuminator.

If you’re interested in purchasing any of this, you can go here. I will be sharing more about the makeup when I try it. I’ll definitely let you know how it looks.

So that’s my one Black Friday purchase. I’m hoping to order some Christmas gifts online today for Cyber Monday!

There are some great deals!

Banana Republic

Kohl’s

Macy’s

ModCloth

DSW Shoes

Sephora (free shipping!)

Did you get any great deals on Black Friday? Are you planning on shopping online for Cyber Monday?

  1. Very interested to see what you thought of it. I’ve been following her blog as well and I’d love to see your look with it on.

  2. Like Donna, I’m on the lookout for a new foundation. I’ve been using BB creams and they are fine for the summer, but I need a bit more moisture for the winter. I’m curious how this is for “older” skin. I don’t really have wrinkles, but I still like a dewey look.
I can’t thank you enough for the recommendation of her blog. so much fun and great info. CTD

  3. I’ve been following her blog Maskara for awhile now and am looking forward to your review. I mostly use tinted moisturizer or Bb cream as I don’t care for heavy makeup. It seems to settle in all the wrinkles of this 57 year old face of mine. Bummer!

  4. Betsy you’re supposed to be able to wear it on it’s own without using another foundation.
I ordered the princess peach color of blush. I’ll let you know what i think of it after I’ve tried it.
    Thanks for stopping by!

  5. I am really interested in this makeup! Her before & after picture says it all to me. I only wish I could afford to buy it. Not in my budget. But, it’ll be interesting to see how you like it.

  6. I’ve followed Cara’s blog for some time and I’m so excited about her new HAC line! I am terrible about makeup and even though I’ve watched her tutorials I don’t know how to use it! I have such uneven skin tone…do you apply this over your regular make up or alone? Also, what color blush did you order? I love you blog and I’m looking forward to seeing how you like your new products!

  7. Nope, I didn’t get out on Friday to do any shopping. However, my daughters and I did do some online shopping(looking, not purchasing). I wanted to get an idea of some things they liked that will help with my Christmas shopping. I will have to watch for the items as then come in the mail to get to them first. LOL Then on Sunday my hubby and our daughters and I drove 2 hours to a little church out in the country of Richmond, KY. My hubby preached the morning and evening service. The dinner in between was great food and fellowship!
I Went to a few of your past blogs and loved them! I think I went to one from last Feb. about adding a bit of color… and you were standing in front of a mirror and I have to say I love your hair parted on the right side as well! 🙂

  8. I went out for a couple of hours with 5 of my kids. They love doing it and we always stock up on basics like pjs and tshirts.

I am interested in this new line of makeup. I will be looking forward to hearing what you think of it. Lisa~
