Fashion Over 40-What I Wore

Happy hump day! I can’t believe it’s December 11th. I’m not ready for Christmas yet, I still have some shopping to do. The weather has been yucky here. We’ve had snow, ice and rain. It makes me want to stay indoors!

Although I did stay inside a lot because of the weather, I managed to wear some leather, some plaid and some animal print.

I wore this gray and leather cardigan to church on Sunday. The weather was bad so I wasn’t going to wear heels. I love the leather patches on the shoulder and you can’t see it, but it has leather elbow patches too.

I have been wanting to add a plaid shirt to my wardrobe and I found this one at Marshall’s.

How is the weather where you live? Cold, snowy? Or are you one of the lucky people who live in a warm climate?

Beauty For the Heart~~I have been praying for so many of you, after you shared about the loss of your loved ones with me on Sunday. Life is not always easy but thankfully we have Jesus.

A good reminder today, “God has never taken his eyes off you. Not for a millisecond. He’s always near.” -Max Lucado

Have a blessed day!

  1. You’re looking beautiful as ever!! I love the animal print shrug. Every time I got to buy anything in animal print my daughter says no- and shakes her head when I asked her opinion. Not sure why she doesn’t like me in animal print but alas, I don’t own any now. I gave away my last two piece set(tank and cardigan).
You have an awesome Christmas. Weather permitting, we will be traveling up to Ohio-Indiana the weekend of the 21st. to celebrate with both my hubby’s and my families! I am gathering a couple of outfits to wear, and your posts of your fashions are a big help!!

  2. Just wanted to stop by and mention that today at SAMs, there were jean jackets (white and indigo) for $21 – up through size XXL. Not sure how widespread the SAMs chain is throughout the country, but thought it worth mentioning to your readers. 🙂

  3. Ugh, it’s been terrible here, too. My porch isn’t decorated, my tree has no ornaments and I’m just trying to get through the week at school. I need a shot in the arm and some Christmas cheer! Love the cardigan with the leather!

  4. Hi Cyndi – It is SO cold where I live in Michigan. It was 15 degrees here today (without windchill)! I love the gray cardigan and Black Stitch Fix pants you were wearing on Sunday. I find that I probably wear too much gray and black, but I can’t help it because black seems to be my favorite. I also loved the animal print shrug. Isn’t Banana Republic awesome? I can always can find something there. By the way, you look great… as always! 🙂 Have a great week – stay warm!

  5. Cyndi – Where did you get the Proverbs 3:-5-6 sign that is behind you? It is my favorite verse and I really like that size. Thanks!

  6. Looking great Cyndi!! NJ has had snow, freezing rain and temps below freezing. Another storm headed our way this weekend!! Brrr. But I have to admit, I love the change of seasons. Have a blessed day:-)

  7. I live in the panhandle of Oklahoma…brrrrr! Baby it’s cold outside! I’m sipping hot chocolate as I write this message. I know what you mean about not being ready for Christmas. We have had bad weather and a lot going on in church and it never stops and I need to have everything done in a week! My husband and I have been married for 7 yrs and have 6 children between us…Get ready for this ~ 16 grandchildren and 1 on the way! I’m 51 and have 16 grandbabies! I love them all, but that’s a lot of shopping! I shop for my MIL too. Ok, I’m through complaining (for now) Lol ;-D I wonder how Michelle Duggar does it? Can you imagine 19 kids?
Merry Christmas and you look adorable as usual!

  8. I love your outfits ~ So inspiring. I’ve decided to try “Stitch Fix” for myself to see if they can help improve my wardrobe.
Actually, I’d like some of that cooler weather. I’m in Florida and we’re still experiencing temperatures in the 80’s.
    Grace & Peace.

  9. I don’t mind the snow, just the cold!!! My boiler is still broken so no heat; I couldn’t even think of Xcountry skiing and usually I can’t wait to get out in the snow making tracks. heavenly. You look really cute this week; I’m loving your Church outfit.

  10. I just love all your outfits Cyndi! I also have the houndstooth scarf from Target. Arkansas has had sleet, freezing rain and some snow with freezing temps for the passed week. I’m recovering from surgery and thankfully haven’t had to be out in it. The sun is out today though bringing a welcome change! I haven’t been “dressing” per se so I enjoy seeing your cute outfits.

  11. Love the quote from Max Lacado… Soo true! 🙂 we had a very cold week all last week; even if its cold, I prefer that to ice and raining and freezing. I get so nervous on the roads then! Sunny her now! Love your cozy winter outfits this week, Cyndi!!

  12. I am loving all things plaid this season! And that shrug is adorable! You always look chic and classic. It is freezing here in Ohio! Ice, snow, wind, you name it … we have it! Blessings! Susan

  13. Snow here in Pa. but tis the season:) Love the scarf, I’ll have to look for it next time I’m at Tarjay…you look fab as always!

  14. I always love to see what you are wearing. I understand the yucky weather. We have had ice since Thursday night. I finally got out of the house on Sunday to go to church. Hoping that I can start (and finish) my Christmas shopping this Saturday. I noticed your nativity scene in your cabinet, I would LOVE to see how you decorate your house for Christmas. PLEASE!!!!!

  15. I have the same houndstooth scarf from Target! It is very cold here in northwest Ohio; with the windchill, it feels like 5 degrees. Thank goodness we don’t have any snow to have blowing around.
