Favorite Fashion “PINS” Friday!

Oh how I love Friday! Friday is my “catch up on everything” I’ve gotten behind on all week, like laundry and housework.  I may start taking down my Christmas decorations too. Not fun!

Here are some of my favorite fashion “PINS” from Pinterest this week~~

When do you plan to take your Christmas decorations down? Do you wait until after New Year’s Day?

  1. I love your fashion posts. My favorite is probably the first one…I love that red sweater! Also love the buffalo plaid with the blue scarf. Like you I am a scarf fanatic!! I usually take my decorations down on New Year’s Day while watching the bowl games. Have a wonderful New Year!!

  2. I’m ready to take then down Dec 26… However my husband and kids like them up longer. So Jan 1 it all comes down. The outside lights usually stay up longer. …usually through Jan 7. Happy New Year Cyndi 🙂

  3. Lee Ann…I too liked the outfit you did and was trying to figure out how they tied that scarf…LOL. I have taken one tree down and will take the other down the day after New Years.

  4. Hi Cyndi.

Love your pins, especially #1, #4 and the plaid pants. 🙂

We will probably get our decorations all down and stored this weekend. I have no idea why, but my mother is very superstitious, and she has always pushed me to get the tree and decorations down before the 1st or bad luck will come. 🙂 LOL I have no idea, but I just do it.

Hope you have a great weekend.

  5. I also pinned this week the one with the black and white button down with the cobalt blue scarf. I love how the scarf is tied and wish I knew how to tie it. I wait for the day after New Year’s Day to take down decorations. Seems like I just put them up this year! 🙂

  6. Loving all the cozy scarves! My decorations will stay up until my family leaves on Jan 2; they’ll be here to take in the Chick Fil A Bowl, so I figure the house should stay festive for them. That’s my story, anyway. 😉
    Have a blessed weekend, Cyndi!

  7. Like Brenda, we put them away gradually. I start with the greens that are starting to dry out. Everything else Begins to come down after the 6th of January. I also believe the 12 days of Christmas begins on December 25. Also, I can finally relax and enjoy. I have a son who’s birthday is Dec. 28 and at age 24, he would still be disappointed if the decorations were down for his birthday! Like the black plaid shirt with the blue scarf best….great for Wildcats games!

  8. As Cathy pointed out, Christmas BEGINS, not ends, on Dec. 25th. Decorations stay up and Christmas lights are lit each evening through Epiphany in our home. I enjoy Favorite PINS Friday. Sometimes I get ideas for outfits I can pull together from what I have in my closet. Thank you!

  9. we put things away gradually so we are still able to enjoy them when there is a moment to relax. Doing it gradually is less traumatic also. Plus it is the time for out of towners to drop by and helps with the festive feelings.

  10. Like Cathy, I don’t usually take mine down til Epiphany on January 6th. I was I was young and could wear some of these outfits you pinned. I love lots of them, but they look like my daughter and daughter-in-law, not ME!!!

  11. After New Years I take the decorations down except for the Christmas tree, I leave it up for Russian Christmas which is Jan. 7th.
Love the 5th one, I’m going out to dinner tonight and I think I’ll wear my black suede heels that I bought in NYC! Thanks!

  12. The four weeks leading up to Christmas are Advent. The twelve days after the 25th are Christmas. We don’t take our decorations down until Jan 7, the day after the 12 days of Christmas, which is the day after January 6/Epiphany ~ the day the 3 wise men arrived to see Jesus. We use our decorations to not only be festive, but also to remind us of what Christmas is really all about, and to teach that to our children.

  13. Such great looks. I love #2. We took our live tree down last night. I know, we are brutal! I refuse to take down the “fancy” tree in my living room though. We are hosting a family Christmas get together on Sunday and I think we need to have some Christmas decor still up for that, right??? (Tell my husband, he would take it all down as soon as we open our last present!)

  14. Great pins Cyndi! Most years I leave the Christmas decorations up through New Year’s. Last year I had a baby on Dec. 30 so they stayed up longer (until my mom & husband got them down!). In future years I want to have everything taken down BEFORE his birthday… but with the planning of the 1st bday.. it just isn’t going to happen this year. Probably more than you wanted to know… but I think I just needed to get it out! HA! They will all come down early next week 😉

  15. Love all the Friday Pins! Sometimes it would be nice to turn back the clock and be young again, but even now at just turning 46, I still feel young at heart! We may not be too young in body, but we can still dress beautifully and show the world we are not ready for the grave just yet!! LOL
I am not sure when my decorations will get stored back up, I am expecting my older sister to come and visit me from Corbin, KY before new years, so my decorations may be up for her to see, then taken down the day after she leaves. Have a great New Years, Cyndi and family!

  16. This might be my favorite set of fashion pins yet! 🙂 I am taking down Christmas today, while it’s still nice outside. And I love starting the New Year with a freshly clean house.

  17. We started yesterday and hope to finish today. I love all the decorations but as soon as Christmas is over I always want them down and then love how clean the house looks.

  18. Cyndi I especially like the first and last outfits you posted! I was home yesterday and took down the decorations. I usually try to take the decorations down before the end of the month. My husband’s birthday is Dec 31 so I partly do it for him and also I just don’t like starting the new year with this chore hanging over me. Having the decorations down also helps me with that feeling of starting fresh
