I always get emails about makeup, what are you using, what’s your favorite brand, etc. I have to admit, I love change when it comes to makeup.
When I was younger I would stick to a certain brand like Clinique or Bobbi Brown and use all of their products. As I’ve gotten older I’ve realized I can mix and match and use my favorite products from different brands.
Here is my everyday makeup routine right now.
I’m a huge fan of primers. Primers prep the skin prior to foundation and eyeshadow application. I use Cover Fx anti-aging face primer and Cover Fx anti-aging eye primer. I love that they both have anti-aging ingredients in them!
Next, I use Cover Fx natural finish oil free foundation ( I use the color P 50). It’s a water based liquid foundation that provides hydrating, flexible sheer-to-full coverage for the face.
I use Cover Fx matte setting powder to set my foundation and minimize shine.
For concealers, I start with Benefit’s lemon aid corrector. I use it on my lid and under my eye to cover up my dark circles. I follow that with NARS radiant creamy concealer. I use the color custard.
For my eyebrows, I will use different brown eyeshadows to fill them in. I’ve talked about the importance of filling in your eyebrows. You don’t want to draw a line. Right now I’m using Mac eyeshadow to fill in my eyebrows. The color is Brun.
Now for my eyes, I play with different eye shadows and right now I’m using the Urban Decay Naked Palette. It has a variety of neutral shades.
For my eyeliner I use Urban Decay 24/7 glide-on eye pencil. The color I use is demolition. I play with a lot of different mascaras and right now I’m using L’Oreal Double Extend.
For a hint of color on my cheeks I’m using Cover Fx Golden Peach bronzer. This gives me a hint of color without over doing it. They aren’t selling this anymore so when I’m out, I’ll have to find something different.
Lips, I try different lip colors all the time. I like a hint of gloss so right now I’m using L’Oreal Colour Riche LeGloss Lip Gloss, Nude Touch.
I’ve been trying to save money and do my own nails. The nail polish I’m loving right now is Essie Nail Color – Mochachino 781. It has a hint of sparkle and it’s a great winter color.

I use the Boots #7 photo finish primer under my Este Lauder double wear foundation. I’ve tried other foundations but go right back to the EL. They have a new product that can be used with all brands of mascara ( I’ve tried it with several) and its a black lash primer. I have never understood why lash primer was white! I will be purchasing this product again when needed. Love the urban decay liners also!

I use many different brands, and am surprised I haven’t tried anything you use! I’ve been using Clinique BB Cream for a couple of years. It works well for me because I need creamy, yet oil free,thanks to hormonal breakouts. I really like NYX lip glosses and Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara, even more than Benefit They’re Real. I also like Philosophy Kiss Me lip exfoliator for dry winter lips.

I actually tried a Pinterest tip for makeup primer…and love it! I had tried Smash Box’s primer (only a sample, it is pretty expensive)…and then saw a tip that Monistat’s chafing gel is basically the exact same thing! Tried it, can’t tell the difference, and love the smooth base it makes for my foundation. Awesome, and costs about $6 vs $35! Well worth it.

I use a variety of brands as well. I use Revlon New Complexion foundation and eyebrow pencil, Mac eyeliner and blush, tarte mascara and lip crayon, NYC and tarte eyeshadows. I have always been a fan of Mac, and I love their powder foundation. I may go back to that one.

Cyndi~ I am a big fan of BB and CC creams and use those as primers. I like the “do all” products, to save a little money. I adore the Naked eye sets as well! I use Nars powder blushes and am a big fan of Benefits “they are real” mascara. LOVE Buxom lip gloss. Looking forward to reading your posts in 2014!

Yes to Mary Kay Time Wise. I am a consultant as well, but before I was ever a consultant I was a fan of how my skin looks and feels with the products. As an African American woman, I have found it hard to find products that work, so when I find one I marry it! Now my teen girls use it.
I really love Benefit’s “Their Real” mascara. I have tiny blond lashes, even though I have dark brown hair, and this mascara is amazing. Also love the cream blushes from Mary Kay. I need to use a primer though. Will check this out. Thanks!
You always look so nice and I like your natural make up look. I think I will look into the creamy Nars concealer. I have been looking for one that isn’t too matte for under the eyes. Mary Kay all the way for me. I’ve worn it for over 20 years and at the young age of 65 I am constantly told that I look 10 years younger. My routine includes their Time-Wise anti-aging products that I wouldn’t go without. Plus their other products that keep my complexion young and flawless.

Yes, price does factor into my makeup. All of these products last a long time. I’m frugal with how much I use and I don’t waste them.
For instance, my primers last a 9 months to a year.
I don’t think you have to buy the most expensive to be beautiful and I’m going to try to incorporate some drugstore finds I like this year. I hope that helps! Thank you for stopping by!
