Valleys Make The Mountaintop Sweeter

Valleys Make The Mountaintop Sweeter

After writing the last few weeks about the struggles our family has gone through, I’ve been reminded that we all have struggles. So many of you have emailed and shared about your own stories.

Here’s my conclusion, sometimes we must go through the valleys to reach the top of the mountain. The valleys are hard but they make the mountaintop that much sweeter.

James 1:2-4 says, Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

I’m a huge David Crowder fan and this song made me smile. Enjoy!

Have you found that the valleys in your life, have made the mountaintop sweeter?

Have a blessed Sunday!

  1. Cyndi, this is so true that God uses our rough times to bring us closer to Him! I’ve entered a very rough patch this past week-been blindsided, really. I’ve shed way too many tears & have asked WHY so many times. I just had to take a step back & remind myself that He has ALWAYS been there before & this time is NO DIFFERENT! In doing that, today was a completely different & better day. <3 Mandisa helps me through…her music is so very encouarging! The song Stronger has helped me this week. God bless you..thanks again for your words! I think I look forward to your Sunday blog more than any other day!

  2. Cyndi,
Ok, ok, I got the connection now! I only have been reading you both for about a year now, when I got an iPad for Christmas last year. Somehow, I stumbled upon both of your blogs. You are really 2 of my favorite bloggers, because I could tell right away y’all were Christians, and definitely from the South! Then, I started recognizing you both have spoken so sweetly about your Mom. Today, I connected the dots when I saw your picture of Traci! I . You are both very encouraging and doing a fabulous job!
    Love to you both,
    Lauren
PS…I live in Louisville and am a bit over 40…(50 to be exact)! Also am a UK grad!

  3. Cyndi, your post reminds me of a song…I know you love music. You may have heard this, but listen to Mountain of God by Third Day. It suits this post very well!

  4. beautiful song. Had not heard it before. it is so painful when life does not work out as we plan. But, what gets me through is knowing God is good ALL the time. In the valleys, especially. He still has a plan…He is not surprised….He’s still in control. WE are the ones who get so attached to live being lovely. Your family is beautiful. I know you are a great support to your daughter and grandson. 🙂

  5. That’s frustrating!! Hang in there with me, I’m going to change my email server and I think it will fix it.
Thanks so much for stopping by!!
    Cyndi

  6. Is Traci from “Beneath My Heart ” your sister? I am trying to put 2 and 2 together….
    From a fellow Kentucky sister!

  7. Yes most definitely! And God refines us in those valleys too. He strengthens us while at the same time bringing glory to himself through our faithfulness. You never know what light or lesson He may be showing others through it as well! Bottom line always is HE is faithful and can bring good out of any circumstance! PTL Have a SUPER Sunday–no pun intended.

  8. I love reading your blog! I always enjoy it! For some reason though I am not receiving updates anymore. I have tried to subscribe again and it says I’m on the list. I checked my spam and they’re not going there either. Any ideas? 🙂
