I spent the weekend with some pretty amazing young ladies in our church youth group. Our topic for the weekend was Purity.
If I look tired, I am!! 🙂
We talked about purity in our dating relationships, in the music we listen to, the movies we watch and even the way we dress.
Can I just say being in high school is not easy these days. The pressures they face are unbelievable.
They socialize through Instagram, snapchat, texting and twitter. As much as I love social media I can’t imagine having it when I was in high school.
I’m praying for these young ladies and I kept thinking about this song from Amy Grant. I use to listen to it all the time when I was young. It’s a great reminder that all we have to be is what He’s made us to be. His plan is best!

Oh Cyndi, this post hit home… With two little ones in school, it’s sooo different fr when I went. But thankful that each morning I can put them in Jesus’s hands and pray diligently for the choices their lil’ hearts make…. Good for u for spending time with these precious girls!
We have a 13 year old daughter and every day is a battle to defeat what Satin puts in the path of teens. We pray for her, guide her, keep her busy, take her to church, and talk a lot!! It is a daily job, but she is wonderful girl. I don’t know what God has planned for her, but I am sure it will be wonderful. I know that your lovely daughter has had a rough year. We have a group of mom’s who have been through the teen years that meet once a month and pray for the teens of our church. I know God hears those prayers. Even though we don’t know the kids anymore because our church has grown so much, we know God knows them and we have a heart for them to KNOW HIM!
Yes, this generation needs our prayers and to speak into their lives at every opportunity! God bless you for the time you gave this weekend
Very necessary topic. Purity is so much harder for young people now. Everything around them is telling them it isn’t important but we know that it is. I’m sure you had a wonderful impact on those young ladies.
We had a purity conference at our church a few months ago. I was so moved watching the youth of our church vow to remain pure in their lives. Our kids are so slammed with impurity at every turn. I’m reminded of the verse that says, “our adversary, the devil, roams like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” I Peter 5:8 No one is immune, especially our youth with their impressionable minds. Great job, Pastor’s wife!
Oh Cyndi yes! This is such a different world today that our young people are living in. I’ve often thought I wouldn’t like raising my children in today’s world. My heart goes out to the younger mothers. There aren’t enough people in the public eye to speak up and lead by good example for our young girls. Bless you for your contribution.
