D’Orsay Flat – Must Have Shoe For Spring

It’s that time of the year when I want to pull out my spring and summer sandals but most days the weather is too chilly.

The d’Orsay flat (also called the two piece flat) has a toe and heel cap, it’s a mix between a sandal and a flat. California designer Jenni Kayne can be credited for bringing back this look.

D’Orsay flats are very feminine and a perfect shoe for spring. They’re fantastic for the in-between season when you want to wear a sandal but it’s too cold to expose your toes.

This is the Jenni Kayne shoe, basically the name brand which is reflected in the price. It’s $495.00. Yikes!

Here’s a spring outfit styled with a pair of d’Orsay flats.

Spring Outfit

Do you have a pair of d’Orsay flats? I’m thinking about getting a pair for my trip to San Francisco.

  1. I love the look of these flats – I bought a pair last summer and they absolutely killed my heels with blisters from chafing! I have not given up yet – I will keep pondering how to make them stay on without the pain. So pretty, elegant …. I am hooked!

  2. 1st…I adore your blog! Just found recently and enjoy so much!!!! I love those shoes too, but agree with the other ladies, a version with a bit of incline/heel (1 inch) makes them more comfy…also a Dr Scholls insert! 🙂

  3. I love them in that outfit you pictured at the bottom of your post, but I would want to try a pair on and walk around in them first, before committing to them!

  4. These flats are so cute but my feet do not withstand a flat sole for a very long period of time. I just tried some on again last week and then tried on a pair with a 1/2″ heel and that made such a big difference in the comfort for me so…I need a little heel for the comfort for my feet. Hope you can find a cute pair to take on your trip.

  5. From my experience with this shoe and obviously others, I would definitely wear it in some different situations to see how successful it would be for your trip. sounds like you might be doing some walking about. I felt like my feet would never return to normal or get “uncramped” from trying to keep them on my feet.

  6. I agree with the other ladies. Very cute but concerned about keeping my foot in place :-). Pls let is know how you like them if You buy them. Love the Beauty for the Heart today. Have a blessed day Cyndi

  7. I have a narrow heel so this type shoe won’t stay on my foot. Also, I’m short and avoid a flat. I like a one inch heel at least. They are cute, however, and I’d love to get out of heels more often.

  8. I completely agree with Felicia! They hurt my feet because I can’t keep them on. They are cute though!

  9. I’ve been stalking these shoes too. I absolutely love the look but fear that they might be painful. Please let us know what you think about yours.

  10. I have had this style shoe before and have a terrible time keeping it on my foot. Then my foot aches from “clenching” my toes to keep it on. They are too cute though. Beauty for the heart is very thought provoking today. Love Henry Blackaby. Have a great day!
