Spring Fashion Trend-Florals

Happy first day of spring and welcome to our spring style show! I’m so excited to join these ladies as we each share our favorite spring fashion trend and how we style it.

I had a hard time deciding which trend I wanted to style. I decided to pick the floral spring trend. I wasn’t crazy about it at first but after trying it on, it started to grow on me.

Obviously there are lots of ways to add floral to your wardrobe. If you want to keep it minimal, add a floral scarf, belt or shoes.

I went with a floral shirt dress from Gap. I read when styling a floral dress to keep your accessories minimal. When the weather is warmer I’ll wear sandals but since it’s still cool I styled it with a pair of leather ballet flats.

I also styled it with my jean jacket and I added pastel pink chandelier earrings from Francesca’s.

  1. I am not a big fan of pastels or florals, buts love that GAP shirtdress on you! I really like it paired with your jean jacket…and I think it would be super cute with denim ballet flats or denim sandals! You have inspired me to try a pastel floral skirt for spring! Love your style 🙂

  2. You need a great matching purse with every outfit. Miche is not like any other purse you have every seen before. Check these interchangeable purses out on my web. Contact me or order off internet. Get yours today.

  3. On its own, not so much, but it’s adorable with the jean jacket. I tend to look a bit washed out in the pastel florals, but there doesn’t seem to be much that a jean jacket won’t improve! Hopping over to your friends’ blogs now! Thanks.

  4. I think it looks good on you both ways. The shirtdresses I have seen lately were so lightweight that I didn’t both to try them on. I have always loved a shirtwaist dress and I think what makes this one work is the colors aren’t too loud and don’t scream out at me.

  5. I am struggling with dressing appropriately for my age (50) and am loving your blog. I want to be cute but I find myself wearing clothes for an older woman.
I was shocked that I loved this outfit so much – especially with the jacket. When I clicked on the link, I didn’t find good reviews for the dress. Is it too sheer? I’m short-waisted and normally don’t wear dresses with a waistline. Come shop with me!!!

  6. I like the dress, much more than I thought I would! It’s not such a bold print, and I think it looks adorable with the jean jacket. Cyndi, what would you say? I am short, 5’2′, and don’t wear flats as I do need some height, and like lift giving a little leaner look. Should I wear flats anyway, or wear smaller heels that are also very comfortable shoes for me? Thanks for the help with my hair. The flat iron and I are great pals; never thought it would happen. Blessings today!

  7. I love that dress! The cut is so fresh and modern. Looks like we both have florals on the brain. Thanks for putting this together!

  8. I have to be honest~ I’m not liking the big florals. I do think the jean jacket looks cute with the dress, but I have to stick with smaller florals.
