April Style Tips

Happy 1st day of April!! It’s time for some April Style Tips and remember it’s also April Fool’s Day, so watch out. 🙂

April Style Tips

Let’s think spring! The temperatures are starting to warm up and I’m ready to pull out sandals and ditch my tights and boots.

Here are some style tips to get you ready for April.

1. Get those toes ready for sandals-whether you do your own pedicure or get pedicures, it’s time to get those toes ready for sandal weather.

I think it’s fun to play with different colors on my toes. Right now, I’m loving this ZOYA nail polish. The color is called Kendal. The essie polish is fashion playground.

2. Use a good self tanning lotion-Short sleeves and cropped pants call for a little bit of color on our arms and legs. My favorite self tanner is still Sun Labs but Cara from Maskcara recently mentioned Tanwise, and I like it too. Tanwise can be bought at Sally Beauty Supply.

April Style Tips

When I use a self tanner I use latex gloves to put it on so my hands don’t stain. If you don’t have latex gloves, use baking soda after applying it to get the self tanner off the palm of your hands.

3. Get a spring makeover-This is one of my favorite things to do. Head to the mall and get a spring makeover. This time I got one at Bobbi Brown but you can pick whatever makeup line you like.

April Style Tips

It’s fun to see the new spring colors and I always find something I love! I’m going to share some of the products I purchased with you soon.

Do you have any other style tips to add to my list?

Beauty For the Heart~~“If the times are indeed as bad as we say they are… if the darkness in our world is growing heavier by the moment… if we are facing spiritual battles right in our own homes and churches… then we are foolish not to turn to the One who supplies unlimited grace and power. He is our only source. We are crazy to ignore him.” – Jim Cymbala

Have a blessed day!

  1. I agree with the highlights! Makes me feel lighter and ready for summer. I love short hair! I live in an ocean of long haired beautiful friends, and I like that my short hair is different. I love spring, changed my bag, got out the white jeans, bring on the warm weather!

  2. This time of year, I always like to get a short spring/summer haircut with extra blonde highlights. It just puts me in the mood for warmer weather. Two weeks ago, I chose to get an A-line bob which is quite a bit shorter than I normally wear. My students were shocked at the change, but we all agreed it made me look younger. What’s not to love about that?!

  3. I believe it is the Dawn Hand Renewal with Olay. I fill my jar 2/3 full of sugar, then add Dawn slowly until I get a nice thick consistency. You could add a few drops of an essential oil to make it smell even better. Like I said it is a really inexpensive way to exfoliate before using self-tanners. Hope you like it!

  4. Gina….how much of the dawn dish soap and how much sugar do you use? I didn’t even know Dawn made pink dish soap….I have only ever bought the blue or green. Does it only work with the pink?

  5. Oh my gosh! Just tried the “baking soda trick”! Totally took off the tanner from the palms of my hands! Thanks for the tip. Also, and this may sound nuts, but it works for me as a CHEAP way to exfoliate before applying self-tanner…I mix a paste of Dawn dish washing soap, has to be the pink one, with sugar. Make a thick paste by mixing together and scrub away! I mix a plastic jar of it and keep it in the shower. Great for at home pedicures too!

  6. Do you have recommendations on a good product to exfoliate my feet so I can give myself a pedicure? jThanks

  7. I started using Sun Labs after you recommended it. I was sad mine did not come with a pump. But I like the product. I am going to have to get me some gloves. I really had to wash my hands good. Lol
