Spring Makeover by Bobbi Brown

A few weeks ago I shared with you about my spring makeover using Bobbi Brown makeup. After winter, I’m always ready for some makeup changes.

I was also running low on my concealer so I decided to give Bobbi Brown concealer a try.

I’ve had a makeover using this makeup before but it’s been several years. I had forgotten how much I love it!

As I was having the makeover the young lady wrote down all the makeup she used so when I go back, I can pick up some more of the makeup I liked. I didn’t have the money to purchase everything!

I decided to stick with the items I needed except for the brightening finishing powder. I’ve never used the brightening finishing powder before but I liked it so much, I decided to purchase it. Here’s what I bought:

spring makeover

  • Creamy Concealer Kit-Concealer instantly covers and brightens dark circles. Fuss-free pressed powder sets concealer for long-lasting wear.
  • Brightening Finishing PowderA brightening pick-me-up for skin – this all-over powder instantly illuminates and gives skin a healthy-looking glow.
  • Corrector-A wakeup call for tired eyes. Neutralizes under-eye darkness and is designed to be used before creamy concealer.
  • Blush-Glides on smooth and is long lasting. I’m using the color “Blushed”.
  • Ink Eyeliner-With an improved formula and felt tip, this easy to use pen-style liner delivers the blackest black, perfect-every-time, line.

I have tried every concealer and corrector out there (well maybe not all of them, but I have tried a lot of them!) and I have to say Bobbi Brown corrector and concealer are some of the best I’ve ever tried.

The corrector helps cover up my dark circles and the concealer brightens my under eye area. I set it with the pressed powder and it lasts all day. I’m hooked!

I didn’t get a picture the day of my makeover, but I’ve been using it, and I like it.

Have you ever had a makeover with Bobbi Brown makeup? Or have you had one with another brand of makeup?

Beauty For the Heart~~Preparing our hearts for Easter:

Six days before Passover, Jesus entered Bethany where Lazarus, so recently raised from the dead, was living. Lazarus and his sisters invited Jesus to dinner at their home. Martha served. Lazarus was one of those sitting at the table with them. Mary came in with a jar of very expensive aromatic oils, anointed and massaged Jesus’ feet, and then wiped them with her hair. The fragrance of the oils filled the house.

Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples, even then getting ready to betray him, said, “Why wasn’t this oil sold and the money given to the poor? It would have easily brought three hundred silver pieces.” He said this not because he cared two cents about the poor but because he was a thief. He was in charge of their common funds, but also embezzled them.

Jesus said, “Let her alone. She’s anticipating and honoring the day of my burial. You always have the poor with you. You don’t always have me.” John 12:1-8 (MSG)

Have a blessed day!

  1. My daughter is a makeup artist at Benefit counter in Macy’s. They also have a waxing bar there and the cosmetologist did an amazing job with my brows. I switched from Arbonne makeup to Benefit. It’s less expensive and goes on easily and smoothly. They don’t charge for a makeover either. I love reading your blog – even though I’m 51!

  2. Hey Amy,
I get mine at the mall. They didn’t pressure me to buy at all! I bought what I could and when I have some more money, I’ll go back and get the rest.
Make sure you ask if you have to purchase anything. Bobbi Brown you don’t but MAC said I had to purchase $50 worth of product.
    I hope that helps!!

  3. Where do you get your makeovers? I would like one because I really want to try some of the products, but don’t want any pressure to buy, and I want it to be professional quality. (Am I right to think many are done by makeup salemen?). Would love to hear your thoughts.

    1. my daughter is a makeup artist for Benefit. They do makeovers for free, but of course, she does have a sales amount she needs to make each day. But I’ve never had anyone there give me a high-pressure sale.

  4. My BF was the regional makeup artist for Lancome so I always have him give me makeup updates and tips while he’s cutting my hair.

  5. This makeup looks very natural on you and I have to say your hair is looking especially great…very natural and more youthful. Are you doing something different?
I never go for the makeovers because I’m always afraid I’ll be pressured to by things I don’t really want or need. The last time was Chanel and I barely recognized myself; it was dramatic, but too much.

  6. I have been hearing a lot of good things about Bobbi Brown products. I might just have to give it a try. =) I have never used these products.

  7. Thanks Lorraine!! You should definitely go have one before the wedding. Tell them about your special event and they can help you!

  8. Lee Ann I go to Macy’s. We have Bobbi Brown makeup there. There’s also Clinique, Mac, Estee Lauder etc. You should definitely go get get one, it’s fun!!
    Blessings,

  9. My daughter is getting married next month. I think I will give Bobbi Brown makeup a try! I see that Macy’s near my home sells it. They have a nice $70.00 eye and face set that I would like to try. I would like to have someone show me some techniques. Thanks for your info. I love your blog and think you have made me keep my look updated through your fashion and beauty posts. You also touch my heart with your inspirational and personal posts.l

  10. Sounds like a fun time, Cyndi. I have not had a makeover in years, but would love to do so. The last makeover I had was done by Mac. I do love Mac Cosmetics and some Bobbi Brown products as well.

Thanks for sharing. I hope the rest of your week is wonderful. 🙂

  11. Where did you have the makeover? I had my makeup done once, for my wedding-21 years ago. Other than that, I’ve never had a makeover, but I would love it! I need to learn how to deal with an aging face. Just don’t know where to go to get one.

  12. I have been using Bobbi Brown products for at least ten years and can say they do not disappoint. I especially like the SPF 50 Protective Face Base. I use it after my moisturizer each morning and can honestly say it does an extremely excellent job of protecting my skin. I have a makeover with one of their skin care specialists ever six months or so. It’s such a treat and free of charge! Lastly, like you, I have tried about every form of under eye concealer and love theirs the most!

  13. I have never tried Bobbi Brown make up but this concealer looks great! It does not look like you are wearing makeup, so that is the sign of great products! I had a make over at the Bare Escentuals store last year and loved it! I may need to go and get color matched for this concealer! Susan

  14. I have had a makeover with Bobbi Brown before and I really like their products! I have to agree that the concealer is great! You look very pretty!

  15. I have never had a professional makeover, but it sounds like fun; I would especially like to learn how to do great eye makeup. The brightening/finishing powder looks like a beauty must-have for me this spring! Thank you for quoting John 12:1-8 this morning…after a wonderful Palm Sunday yesterday, it is good to stay in the Word! 🙂
