  1. I have to say that I am still a fan of the bikini. No, I do not have the physique I wish I had, but it is still the most flattering choice for my shape. When I try a one piece, my thighs look much thicker. Showing the midsection takes some of the emphasis off of my thicker thighs! 🙂 I think I’m going to be ordering one from Athleta this year. I’ve wanted one for the last couple of years, but my budget has been too tight. We’ll see. 🙂

Hope everyone has a great week. Thanks for sharing Cyndi.

  2. We love Lands End at our house as well! They carry so many sizes it is amazing:) Their suits are super cute and many styles are modest.

  3. Oh my! I haven’t had a swimsuit/bathing suit (which one should we call it?) on since my 32 year old son was 10 years old! Let’s see, that would’ve made me about 44 years old. I am 5’2″/5’3″ (depending on the nurse who is measuring me)and 104 or so lbs. I look silly in a bathing suit. I also feel like I am mature enough that I should not be showing that much of myself in public, I wear a black strapless tank and always a cover-up. i’m not that fond of swimming, so it doesn’t bother me if I don’t get into the water. The last cover-up shown above is darling and I would buy it in a second!

  4. Also a Lands End suit fan! I have to wear a two piece because I have a long torso. Lands End has cute cute skirted bottoms.

  5. For the last few years I have chosen a swimsuit, one piece with boy legs. It looks like shorts but one piece. It is very hard to find but is very comfortable.

    God Bless!

  6. Have to admit I’m not really sure I’m comfortable in a bathing suit this season. I’m not comfortable with my weight or body.

  7. As I age, I find it harder to find a bathing suit that offers adequate coverage without spending a fortune…how can such minimal fabric cost so much money?! I prefer two piece tankini styles with longer shorts/skirts on the bottom…and I like bright summer colors like pink, orange and yellow! Goodbye winter…:)

  8. Lands end! Love their beach living suits. I live in my bathing suits during the summer, they last are flattering, love!

  9. I am a 45 year old who recently discovered your site! I love it!!! Lands End Beach Living tankini separates have been my swimsuit choice for years. I recommend trying different colors and prints to find the one that looks best. Lands End has a paisley print top this year that does a great job of camouflaging trouble spots!

  10. When your a little more full figured a great cover up is a style saver and these cover up’s are fantastic.

  11. I agree! I love Land’s End. I just returned from vacation and switched between my two suits from Land’s End. They offer all pieces separately so its fun to buy one bottom and a couple of tankinis and switch it up.

  12. One of my favorite brands for older, plus size women is Longitude. It has a good bra and “covers” my trouble areas.

  13. I’d love to try an Albion Fit suit but they are really pricey and I am not sure they would have the support I need.
That’s my issue. I’m over 40 and don’t want an ugly suit but also want support and comfort and a smidge thigh coverage. Lands’ End is always my go-to. Well made and they stay in place.

  14. These look great, I would wear these! I’m just so tall I have a hard time finding a one piece that fits! I’ll have to check these out!

  15. Shopping for swimsuits can be challenging! Ruching adds both style and comfort….makes the suits for women our age more flattering. However, be cautious about those little ruffle-like skirts. While the idea is to provide some coverage for the top of the leg, they sometimes just accentuate that area…not always a good thing! A pretty color (like the blue and pink shown) look more fun and youthful. I’ve never really cared for dark colored suits. Happy Beach and Pool Days!
