Mother’s Day Encouragement

Happy Mother’s Day! I miss my Mom so much but I realize more than ever, my Mom had a purpose. She knew it and she finished well. She didn’t waver on what she believed (ask anyone who knew her).

mothers day encouragment
I learned so much from my Mom. Here’s what I think she would want me to say to encourage You today!

1. Keep the faith!

“Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” 1 Timothy 6:12

Don’t waver, don’t stop believing. In a world that is trying more than ever to tell us there is no truth, Jesus is the TRUTH!

2. Rise up!

“Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will take a stand for me against evildoers?” Psalm 94:16

We need to rise up and take a stand for what we believe. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Don’t stop sharing it!!!

3. Don’t be politically correct!

Mother's day
There, I said it. I’m tired of being told I have to be politically correct. I’m a believer. I will say it, I will shout it and I won’t be ashamed of  it.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes” Romans 1:16

 4. Teach your faith to your children!

Oh this one is so important! Listen to me, I know most of you reading this are Moms, Grandmothers, and Aunts.

WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR TEACHING OUR CHILDREN. (Along with fathers, grandfathers, and uncles.)

“Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”  Deuteronomy 11:19

It’s not up to the church, the preacher, the youth minister, or the sunday school teacher, it’s up to us!

We have to teach our children to trust and love Jesus.

Believe me this world is doing everything it can to steal our children! Don’t let the world (satan) win this battle. It’s too important!

My husband and I are constantly sharing about Jesus with our grandson Colt. We are teaching him the books of the Bible and songs about Jesus.

I recently taped him singing Jesus Loves Me. Oh how I want him to get this!! Yes, Colt Jesus loves you so much!

Will you join me? Let’s know keep the faith and finish well!

Have a blessed Mother’s Day!

  1. Beautiful post…as I was reading this, I thought…what do you do when your children didn’t learn and your grown children don’t seem to believe…and the answer came to me…continue praying for them.

  2. It’s so awesome that you would choose not to retreat and wallow in self pity but to build on your Mom’s legacy and encourage us! I appreciate your boldness and needed it today! Thank you and Happy Mother’s day to you!

  3. Thank you for sharing this tribute to your mom. I miss my mom on this day too, but I’m so thankful for the Godly example she set for me. I hope I have done the same with my daughter who is a young mom of two precious children. It thrills my soul to hear my granddaughter, Sophia, who’s 3, sing Jesus Loves Me and When I Am Afraid I Will Trust in Him.
Colt is absolutely adorable singing of Jesus’ love for him. Thanks for sharing that too.

  4. Thank you for the wonderful message ! I hope I am also fit to be called an example of the believers !

  5. That’s a wonderful passage to study. Love Jesus with all of your heart and you will be the best Mom, I promise!
    Blessings,
    Cyndi

  6. Go Colt!! So beautiful Cyndi. Everything you shared is right on!! Thanks for being bold enough to share it on your blog!! Have a beautiful Mothers Day with your family 🙂

  7. Cyndi, what a lovely tribute to your mom! I have been reading Proverbs 31 over and over this week trying to inspire myself to be the mom I know my kids deserve. 🙂 God Bless and Happy Mother’s Day!

  8. Happy Mother’s Day, Cyndi! Your mom would love the post you wrote …I am sure she is smiling 🙂 today! I am happy to have my son at home from college on Mother’s Day…he is the best blessing from God I have been given and being a mom helps me understand the love God has for me…for all of us. Thanks for sharing Colt’s sweet voice!

  9. Cyndi I’m reading this as I sit at my daughters bedside following an emergency appendectomy in the wee hours of the morning. I just think I’d rather be nowhere else than by my (23 year old) baby’s side in her hour if need. Happy Mother’S Day doesn’t even express what I’m feeling. I’m thankful she came through surgery without a hitch (although there were unexpected issues) and her physical body will mend. I’m more thankful she loves Jesus! Amen to everything you shared! Happy Mothers Day to you! God Bless
