Relieve Stress With A Detox Bath

Lately, I’ve been reading about detox baths. They are supposed to help relieve stress and who doesn’t need some help in the stress area?

I have to admit, I’m not a bath person. We have a jacuzzi tub in our master bathroom that does not get used very often.

But after reading about the health benefits of epsom salt, I think it’s going to finally get some use!

What are the health benefits of using Epsom salt?

  • Relax the mind and body-helps relieve stress
  • Rejuvenates the skin
  • Relieves pain and muscle cramps
  • Helps muscles and nerves function properly
  • Helps prevent hardening of arteries and blood clots
  • Makes insulin more effective
  • Eliminates toxins from the body-helps flush toxins and heavy metals from the cells

For a detoxifying bath, at least once weekly add one to two cups of epsom salt and 10-20 drops of Lavender essential oil (Young Living essential oils are therapeutic grade and safe for your skin.) to your bath water and soak for at least 10 minutes

Lavender is a great essential oil to add to your bath. It helps to relieve stress and imbalances.

Other great essential oils to add to detox baths include: Peace & Calming, Valor, Joy, Lemon, and Stress-Away. {All of these essential oils come in the Premium Starter Kit.}

Have you tried a detox bath? What’s your favorite essential oil to use in a detox bath?

Have a blessed day!

  1. I recently had foot surgery. After the surgery my doctor had me soak my foot in Epsom salt once a day for 10 to 15 minutes for cleaning and quick healing. It definitely made a difference.

  2. Hey Richella,
The premium kit does come with regular size oils. They are 5ml bottles and they’re oils you will use all the time. They do have 15ml bottles but those aren’t in the starter kit. There are some samples in the starter kit for you to give away.
    Hope that helps!

  3. Love Epsom salts! I’ve used those for years for soaking. I’ve not yet tried essential oils, although my interest is definitely piqued by so many people using them and writing about them! Here’s a question for you about YL: does the Premium starter kit come with regular sizes of oils, or just little samples?

  4. Thank you so much for this post! I will try it tonight. I have a number of the Young Living Oils and probably my favorite is Peace and Calming. For years, it has been my only “perfume.” It lasts so much longer, is pure, and others who are sensitive to various smells don’t have problems with it.

  5. I have been taking Epsom salts baths for years because it relieves the aches and sore muscles I encounter due to running and exercise. I had no idea it also had detox properties! Thanks for this very enlightening post. I’ll make it a point to soak a little longer next time, since it seems to be good for me in more than one way.
