Summer Fashion-Neutral & Gold

Why does Monday come around so quickly? I’m not ready for the weekend to be over!

It’s Day 7 of 31 days of summer fashion. This seems to be the summer for the neutral outfit for me. It’s easy to put together and I like it with gold jewelry.

(In case you noticed the window in the back of my pictures, that’s my husband’s boat. I didn’t know the light was on in his “shop”. 🙂 )

My eyelet ankle pants are from The Limited and my sleeveless blouse is from New York & Company.

This is my very serious look. I’m not sure what I’m thinking about in this picture! But I took a close up to show you my jewelry. I love these necklaces from Stella & Dot. I wear them all the time. The round one has my initials on it. My earrings are Stella & Dot too.

My purse and shoes are both from Marshall’s and have an eyelet pattern on them too.

Do you have a go-to look this summer? Have you tried a neutral outfit?

Beauty For the Heart~~This morning as I was reading my Bible, I saw a note card I have of Mom’s that said, “This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.” It’s in her handwriting and I treasure it.

It was a great reminder as I begin my week. Rejoice!

What do you have to rejoice about this week?

Have a blessed day!

  1. Judy you can wear the ankle pants. I was shopping with someone who had that problem and we made sure she had a longer shirt that covered the widest part of her hips.
    Hope that helps!

  2. The neutrals with gold look so fresh and classy. Thank you again for also sharing the daily Beauty for the Heart … I look forward to it and it’s amazing how the thoughts you choose seem to be just what I need. Appreciate it!

  3. great quote from you mother. My grandmother used it a lot too and once in her near the end time, a neighbor had a whine party while supposedly visiting to cheery grandmother and she finally heard enough and said rejoice etc. and the whiney lady said well what do you have to rejoice about ?Grandmother said well He did wake me up this morning and give me another day to enjoy His creations..Whiney was not so whiney anymore that visit or subsequent ones. Even really sr. folks can make a difference.

  4. Do you have a white house black market near you? I really like my white jeans, no lumpy bumpy noted! I also have J Jill white jeans, not as crazy about them, I think they look like mom jeans. Good Luck, jeans and bathing suits definitely the two major shopping challenges!

  5. As do the others, I love the bag and shoes too! I have a pair of neutral wedges that I wore the other day…but I wore them with a black dress to a memorial service. Black seems to be my “neutral” color for all seasons! LOL

As a side note, I tried to wear my white jeans on July 4th, and I thought they looked good. That is until I happened to turn around and look in a mirror at my rear view! Awful. 🙁 I swear they showed even more lumps and bumps than are there. I guess I need to bite the bullet and try on some designer jeans in white and just pay the price for premium denim. What are your thoughts on this Cyndi. Do others have the same “see thru” problem?

Hope you have a great week. Thanks for sharing.

  6. Cindy, my mom quoted that verse to me once when I had cancer and was having a bad day. She has been gone for 4 years but every time I hear it I think of her. And I have been cancer free for 29 years. PTL And on a fashion note I love your outfit but really
    love the bag.

  7. Love your outfit and love the sandals. We finally have a Marshals opening up near us in 2 weeks!! Yay!!!

  8. I love your sandals! I have the same ones in black and get compliments on them all the time! You look great, as always!

  9. I love the ankle length pants on you but I am widest at the hips and am not sure if they would be good for me. Are there “rules” about shoes, height and weight for these to be flattering?

  10. I usually shy away from an outfit that has no pop of color because I feel washed out in it, BUT I do like a navy top with light khaki bottoms…does that qualify as neutral? Happy Monday! 🙂

  11. I love this look, especially the purse and shoes. I have handwritten notes from my grandmother and my mother that I treasure dearly.
