Colored Denim For Women Over 40

Well, unless you’re living under a rock, you’ve probably heard that colored denim is all the rage this fall. And I have to admit, I can’t get enough of it!

If I’m not careful, I get in a rut and wear blue jeans all fall/winter but this year I’m vowing to wear colored denim to change things up a bit.

There are so many colors to choose from and the prices range from $25 and up. Here’s a quick peek at some of the colored denim you’ll find in some of your favorite stores.

I recently purchased these colored denim jeans from Ann Taylor and I absolutely love them! They not only fit great but their comfortable too.

Right now Ann Taylor  is offering 30% of one full price item, 40% off 2 items and 50% off 3 or more. That’s a great way to get started on your fall wardrobe.

  1. I get so confused! I just read another fashion blog this morning that said colored denim is on the way OUT! But I’m glad to hear you say it’s IN, because I got 3 pair last year! THANK YOU!

  2. Enjoying your posts a lot! Thanks for the idea of removing the sleeves from a jacket to create a vest…brilliant! I did it to a jacket I was going to donate and now it is a cute “new” vest.

  3. I love your outfits and you have more than inspired me to “broaden my horizons” and even be a little more “open minded” when it comes to fashion. My daughter can’t thank you enough for doing this! 🙂 Your jeans with flats or boots look so good, but I have a dropped foot and wear a brace… so flats/boots are out of the question for me. Tennis shoes (which is what I normally wear with my brace) just don’t look good with the jeans so I don’t get the same look as you, but with my daughter’s help and the courage to be “bold,” I did find a pair of flat shoes with a strap across the top which allows me to wear them with my brace. Husband even approves of my new look and my new “do” – which was also due to your inspiration. My confidence level has increased and I feel so much better. You’ll just never know how many lives you touch. Keep on walking in grace – God is definitely using you to help others. Thanks again.

  4. Yeah, glad the colored jeans are back again! I have several pairs in olive, teal, burgundy and some red, brown and grayish jeggings. I have been on the hunt for awhile for some in mustard too. I love fall dressing as you can really express yourself in so many different ways!!! Not in the shorts and tank top rut of summers in Texas!!! Now if only the fall weather would arrive here!!!

  5. I have red from a couple of years ago for fall, green for spring & just purchased a fatigue color for fall so ready to go. Don’t want to get too many.

  6. I love the gold toed shoes…..though they are not on that zappos site:( Can you share the brand of shoes? And your purse….adorable!!!!

  7. Lands end has some colored denim ankle pants on sale 30%off you may want to try. I have fuller thighs and bought a pair today and was surprised they fit well without looking like your stuffed in them.

  8. I may have to try this trend. i haven’t yet bought skinnies as i always feel they make my legs look like drumsticks. do you think they’ll stay “in” for a while yet? Can I still wear my flares? You look very good in yours, so i think maybe i could pull off the look.

  9. Cyndi what other type of shoe can you or will you wear with these straight leg jeans? I don’t do flats very well as I need that arch support. The photos you have shown of the straight leg pants on you have looked awesome. I have yet to buy a pair as I too feel like it makes my middle area look larger but, maybe like Lori, I need to get out of my rut.

  10. I don’t have any yet but I’m loving the darker shades – burgundy, brown, etc. I’ll be looking for those!

  11. So far, I’ve avoided colored denim. I’m pear-shaped and was afraid it would call attention to the wrong parts, but that leaves me wearing mostly blue jeans and black pants! I’m thinking I actually might be able to pull off some of the darker-colored denim shades. I think it’s time to get out of my rut!!

  12. Hi Cyndi! What a cute outfit!! Your gold cuff bracelet and other jewelry really make it perfect and I love that blouse. I have a pair of aqua Michael Kors jeans I bought at the beginning of spring this year. I’ve barely worn them:( Just not sure that I’m comfortable with how bright they are. I may try again with some of the deeper fall shades:) Thank you for your wonderful quote on prayer and thoughts on how we can go to our Father with anything! Blessings Krista
