Happy Hump Day! It’s Day 15 of my 31 Days of Fall Fashion. I’m styling my military jacket today.
Soooooo, in hindsight, I might have styled this outfit with black boots. But for some reason, I wanted to wear my brown boots and I left the house to take these pictures and couldn’t go back for my black ones.
My pants are Kut From the Kloth ‘Jennifer’ Knit Pant. I received them in my Stitch Fix box last fall. Here they are on a tall, super skinny model. 🙂

Rack Room Shoes has some great boots for fall and winter. They currently can’t be purchased online but beginning in November, you can order their shoes online.
How would you style your military jacket?
Beauty For the Heart~~Have you ever had a broken heart? Do any of you have wounds from past sins, or from someone that has hurt you? Maybe a friend let you down. a spouse has betrayed you or maybe you’re spouse has passed away.
You’ll be glad to know that scripture says, He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 47:3 My advice is always run to Christ, he is our healer and our protector.
Have a blessed day!

***Rack Room Shoes has provided me with my boots but all opinions are my own.
Hi Cyndi…I personally LOVE the contrast with the boots…but I can see the sense in wearing black ones. Being barely 5’2”, would the unbroken line of black pants and black boots make a shorter lady seem taller??? Or at least not any shorter or cut in half? I have two identical pair of UGG tall leather riding boots…1 Black & 1 Tan… (yes they do exist and no they are not your familiar UGG style boot)…I get so many compliments on them and the COMFORT is beyond belief…but I always question which pair to wear since I love them both…Thanks for your great Blog!!! Keep’em coming, GF!!!
Hi Cyndi, love your blog! I know your military jacket came from stitch fix, can you tell me what brand the jacket is? I am petite and have a hard time finding items that fit just right.
I just discovered your site in the last week and i love it! I find myself really looking forward to checking in to see your suggestions and the cute things you wear. I wonder, is it possible to make suggestions for how to get the same look but for women who are plus sized? So many blogs and catalogs show smaller thin women – even when modeling plus size clothing – it’s hard to imagine how it might look on me! I would love to see a tip occasionally for how to match the styles, but for size 18 plus.
Thank you for all the encouragement!
I have a jacket very similar to this and I love it! This looks good…I would have styled it the same or with black boots …very cute on you! I actually just wore a similar outfit this weekend but with a denim shirt and black TOMs …wasn’t quite cool enough for boots that day! ( I actually took my jacket with me to throw on if it cooled down)
I love this outfit! The brown boots look good, and I’m sure the black would look good as well. I am very conservative in clothing, but would like to try a military jacket. Your outfit has inspired me. Thank you!
HI Cyndi – I much prefer the pants on you rather than the “skinny tall” model. Love the brown boots with it – totally makes the outfit. Very cute.
I love my military jacket with a flannel popover tunic of red, green, blue and white, stretch jeans of blue and tall dark brown boots. I teach high school and get compliments if I wear this outfit to a sporting event. It’s not a match-I tend toward matchy-but the brighter colors really pop off the olive.
wish you could post a picture….I can’t picture what a flannel popover tunic with those colors looks like.
I tried without much success. The background is navy with cobalt, emerald, red, yellow and white. It buttons about 1/4 of the way( the one pictured is full-button).
http://www.pinterest.com/rebeccat3/ has a pin on the fall/winter board
I have all of those pieces and could do that outfit. Thanks for the idea!
Great outfit Cindi! I like the boots you have on with the outfit too. If anyone is searching for a jacket like Cindis, I believe Loft still has some. 🙂
I love the brown boots too. I love the outfit too:-) Here’s a funny story. My sister-in-law (whose a pastor’s wife & teaches a lady’s Bible study) was getting ready the morning of her Bible study class and had one of each boot on & was trying to decide if she wanted to wear brown boots or black boots with her outfit. She got interrupted. Went to her Bible study & was up on the platform teaching. After the class one of the lady’s asked her if she wore one of each intentionally or was it an accident? Needless to say she was totally embarrassed. The gals got a big kick out of it:-)
That’s so funny and something I would totally do!! 🙂
I like the brown boots but would have preferred the black ones with that outfit. so many contrasts seem to make me feel discombobulated when I have them on.
thanks for all the great ideas for shopping in our own closet. I would imagine most of us could go to our closets and apply your great ideas. Nice to have a new way to look at our things.
I need to get brown boots…and a jacket…and a scarf 🙂
Outfit looks great. Love the boots!
Sometimes our mistakes turn out for the best! 🙂 I actually think the brown boots look better than black ones would, although either would be great. The brown boots contrast well with your black pants and bring out the taupe in your scarf and brown in your sunglasses! I love the outfit!
I wear mine with a lace, cream blouse, black jeans, and brown boots. Then I add a chunky gold chain bracelet.
I also like the brown boots. I use to get Macy’s when I first went to your sight but that is gone. Didn’t notice anything today. Great outfit.
I much prefer brown boots generally because they sort of make an outfit pop. However, tomorrow you’ll wear your black boots and I’ll fall in love with black! Ha. Great outfit.
Love this entire outfit. I commented on another outfit where you had cuffed your jeans with short boots. I said I didn’t like it and couldn’t do it. I have since changed my mind. I have lost about 35 lbs and I had to buy some new clothes. One of the outfits include cuffed jeans and short boots. What I thought I could wear at a size 12 is different than at a size 6. Thanks for taking the time to post pictures everyday. I need examples to help me shop.
Wow!! Congratulations on the weight loss!
Love this! I’ve been looking for a jacket like this!
Cute!
Love the outfit, especially the boots. I saw the web site, but what brand are yours?
These are the boots I’m wearing

Great look!!!
I like the brown boots! Great outfit 🙂
I think the brown boots look great. I like the contrast.
Hey Cyndi…when I go to your website I get a huge pop up about Hotel Impossible that encompasses the whole page. I can click it off but it’s the first thing I see. Just thought I’d mention in case it’s not intended! Always enjoy your posts!
Same here.
Rrgghh!!! I’ve purchased anti-malware and I’ve been contacting every ad network and no one is telling me who is responsible. I’m going to get to the bottom of it!! I’m so sorry, I don NOT want it on there.
FYI, this only happens when I access your blog on my tablet. No ads when I view it on my phone.
I love this outfit, I like that the pants don’t necessarily look as tight or form-fitting as leggings, but I suppose they’re similar? Anyway, very cute on you! Love the boots too!
I like the brown boots! I’ve got to check out Rack Room Shoes…..
I love your posts and all of your outfits!! What basic pieces would you consider must haves for Fall?
Good question!
Anne, I’m going to be talking about that in November so stay tuned!! 🙂
