Sunday Encouragement-Jesus Loves Us

I’ve recently mentioned to you all about how I’m missing my Mom a little more than usual lately. I know partly it has to do with the upcoming holidays.

I think it also has to do with all the changes. This past year has been one of the most difficult for our family. I shared last year about God’s Faithfulness in our Struggles. The consequences of sin and mistakes still linger. I’ve needed her guidance. Mom always knew what to say and of course she’d be praying.

I also wish she could see her grandkids. They have all grown up so much! She would be so proud of each one of them.

She also has a great grandchild. Goodness gracious, how did that happen?? That makes me a grandmother. What??? Not possible!

Sunday Encouragement-He Love Us

Anyway, one of Mom’s prayers that she wrote over and over in prayer journals and in her Bibles was about Jonathan. Jonathan is my sister’s oldest son. She has 4 boys. Yep, that’s right 4 and they’re precious.

Jonathan has moderate hearing loss in both ears and wears hearing aids in both ears. I think it’s moderate to severe hearing loss. Oh how Mom worried over Jonathan. She begged God to heal him.

I know it’s not the worst thing in the world but Mom was afraid he wouldn’t talk. She worried he’d be made fun of and the list goes on.

Jonathan is able to talk and more than that, he has a beautiful singing voice and most importantly a heart for Jesus.

Mom knew before she passed away that Jonathan had a gift for singing, which we all feel is a miracle. Every time he sang anywhere Mom and Dad were there.

Jonathan even sang at Mom’s funeral. He was 10 and it was beautiful.

Today, I wanted to share this video that Jonathan recently did all by himself. Traci tried to tell me how he did it. Basically, he recorded himself singing outside four different times. He recorded himself singing on the computer and he downloaded the music.

Let’s just say it was A LOT of work. It’s really good for a 15 year old doing it all by himself. He’s singing Chris Tomlin’s song, Jesus, He loves me.

Let me end by saying what Mom would want me to say. Jesus loves us and he wants us to know Him!

  1. Hi Cyndi,
Thank you for sharing your nephew’s video. He has a beautiful voice and you can just see his love for Jesus as he sings. What a blessing when our family members choose to follow Jesus. Love that!
Happy Thanksgiving to you & your family!

  2. I love Jonathan’s video. I know that took a lot of work especially doing it by himself.
I lost my daddy almost 3 months ago. It has been a struggle, but I also know that he is celebrating life with Jesus! He was a wonderful man of God who touched many lives.
I just found your blog about a month ago. I love the fashion ideas and tips. AND, I should get my first Stitch Fix in the mail tomorrow!!!!!! I am excited. Thanks for the tip.

  3. What a darling young man inside and out! God has anointed him with a special gift! It always touches me when I see someone using their gift for God’s glory, especially our youth! Please tell Jonathan that his faithfulness towards Jesus’ love for him is blessing many lives through his beautiful voice!

  4. Cyndi,
Thanks for sharing that video. Your nephew has an awesome voice! I’m crying as I type this…so touched by his music. I’m the wife of a Pastor and mother of three boys. I, too, have been “prayed up” by a mama and grandma. God is faithful!!

  6. What a beautiful voice Jonathan has! It is so beautiful to see a young person with a heart for God. Cyndi, I will pray for your heart, for comfort as you go thru the holidays.

  7. Thanks for sharing this lovely video. It is so sweet. Our daughter also has moderate to severe hearing loss. She was born with it and doctors weren’t sure how bad the loss would get. She is still holding steady and has overcome a significant speech delay. She also has a big heart for Jesus and people. She has been an inspiration and complete ray of sunshine in our lives.

  8. What a beautiful song and singer your nephew is, touched my heart! I to lost my mother and the holidays are so hard. I didn’t get to tell her good by and she died alone. That is the worst pain ever, but I carry on and tell everyone I LOVE them because you never know when God will call you home.

  9. Cyndi, what a beautiful voice, and an anointed gift your nephew has. I have been following you a year now, and haven’t made a comment before. I am always inspired or touched in some way by your blog. But today I wanted your nephew to know how his voice/gift can and will touch people’s heart.

  10. Please tell Jonahan how beautiful his voice is- God has truly blessed him. Your dear mother’s prayers were answered.

  11. Hi Cyndi,

I am a new follower to your blog and I have really been enjoying your posts. Your nephew has a beautiful voice! How wonderful to see a young person who shows his love and joy for the Lord through song! I also wanted to tell you that your recent posts about the loss of your mother have been a blessing to me. I lost my mother to breast cancer a year ago on Thanksgiving Day. She was a wonderful prayer warrior and truly was an anchor for me and my sisters as well. I miss her prayers and encouragement and I am so thankful that God blessed me with a godly mother as He did you. Sometimes I wonder why, as a Christian, I still miss her so much when I am confident that I will see her again. Someone told me a year ago that the very fact that I feel that loss so deeply is a sign of a life well lived, a life that continues to bless me to this day, even though she is with our Father.

Thank you for sharing your struggles as well as your helpful fashion tips.

    1. Hi Karen! Nice to meet you. I’m so so sorry about your loss. If I could hug you through a computer screen, I would!!
Yes, we had Mom’s that lived life well and they will always be missed but praise God, we will see them again.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  12. Cyndi,
Thanks for sharing your nephew’s song! He is very talented and I’m sure a blessing to all who know him. Walking in Grace is a permanent tab on my iPad. I check it almost every day and if I miss a few days I always go back to see what I’ve missed. I love your style and get a lot of ideas from your blog. I am a 50 year old high school teacher and the coordinator for the greeters at our church. I get a lot of compliments from students and adults on what I wear so thank you for all the ideas. Have a great week!

  13. You forgot to say your Mother would be very proud of you too. I really enjoyed Jonathan’s song…what a blessing. It’s exciting to see how he is growing with his singing and his devotion to the Lord.

    1. Aww thank you Cindy. I want to honor Mom and the legacy she left me. I know Mom would want me to point women to Christ and encourage them to run to Him.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  14. thank you for this blessing. every time Traci shares one of his songs I am absolutely blessed by it. seeing how the boys are growing up in her shared photos is really beautiful. Jonathan could no longer be in the boy category. he is such a handsome combo of his parents.

again thank you for sharing this young man’s talent.

  15. God bless his heart Cyndi…Jonathan did a great job! I miss my dad more this time of year too. Ill be praying for you 🙂

    1. Thanks Lisa! Praying for you too!
Did you ask about the shipping of the Microderm Abrasion?? If you didn’t, then ignore this. But I know why the shipping is more, it’s because it’s from Canada. Yikes!!
I love it but I don’t know about paying that much for shipping.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  16. Wow Im from Canada and have been following your blog for a long time now.
I was so impressed with Jonathon’s singing. He sure has Gods annointing power over his voice, you can sure feel Gods presence has he sings. I too am a mother who prays for her children and grandchildren as well as your Mom did. I have 3 adult children, 2 boys and 1 girl. The boys are 30 (gave me two grandchildren, girl and boy), and the other son is 27 (with an 9 month old girl) and our 3rd is a girl, who has a beautiful voice and she is getting married in May. Its so wonderful to see the youth of our nation love Jesus and want to sing about Him. What a blessing!!

    1. Hi Cindy!!
Wow, sounds like you have a beautiful family!!!
Jonathan does have a heart for Jesus and I can’t wait to see how God uses him.
      Blessings,
      cyndi

  17. Cyndi;
I found you on Pinterest a few weeks ago and I look so forward to your daily blog. Your words are such an encouragement and I can’t wait to get your wardrobe tips. Also, Jonathan has an amazing talent. You can feel his love for our Lord and Savior. Thank you, for all you do, I know God is using you to touch lives and thank you for listening to His call through both the good and bad times. God bless you sweet sister in Christ.
    Cindy

  18. Wow, Cyndi, what a TALENTED singer!!! Your nephew, indeed, has a beautiful voice for both singing and speaking. I’m really impressed and moved!!!
Also, I understand your feelings about your mom. I’m going through the same thing with the loss of my dad, which happened a couple years ago. When a person has wonderful parents, it sure does hurt when they depart!!!! You’re not alone in how you feel, and here’s wishing all of us a great day full of comfort!!!

  19. Cyndi, I have been following you for about a year now. I found you on pintrest. I have never left a comment on ANY blog before. Not true today. Thank you for sharing your heart. If every day your blogging touches just one person, how amazing is that. Keep up the good work and keep the faith.
    A sister in Christ. Deanna

Life isn’t perfect but God is good. I hope I can encourage women to run to Him.
