What To Wear To A Work Holiday Party

Welcome to Day 3 of our 12 Days of Holiday Outfits. Today is What To Wear To A Work Holiday Party! I’m partnering with Kristin from BonBon Rose Girls andJo-Lynne from Jo-Lynne Shane to bring you 12 days of posts about what to wear for EVERY event this holiday season.

12 Days Of Holiday Outfits and More!

So, let me tell you what a work holiday party looks like for me. My husband is a pastor. That means we go to Sunday School (we now call them small groups) parties.

He’s also on a board at the state level and we go to a dinner theatre which is lots of fun.

I know what you’re thinking. I live on the wild side! I’ve got to slow down. I know. Don’t be jealous, we can’t all be living this wild life. 🙂

Anyway, I’ve shared some outfits over the last few years that all have red in them. I love red, especially around Christmas. It’s just festive!

Here I took a sweater from Gap and just added black pants and high heels. Pretty classic.

You can’t go wrong with a little black dress and of course a red scarf. Simple and easy.

This year, I decided to try a different color. This deep burgundy color is on trend and I added some bling with my necklace.

Of course I had to pop some leopard print with this clutch. (Don’t you love how I added the snow!)

Beauty for the Heart~~It seems we’ve already become numb to the beheadings with ISIS. It’s almost as if the news says, oh yeah there’s been another one.

Friends that’s someones son. Let’s pray today for that family!! This is a horrible tragedy.

  1. You are such a classic beauty!! Do you happen to know what the brand is of the Red Dress you are wearing is? That look would be so perfect for a Holiday Wedding I am attending soon?

  2. I love all these outfits. Don’t know if I could pick a favorite. My question, are you wearing tights or leggings and what brand? You look fantastic!

  3. Love all your outfits… very stylish! The Christmas red and black is always a great look for the Holiday!!! I love wearing the red and black! Love the first pic with red sweater, and the little black dress is very stunning with scarf… what other item would you pair with the dress in red other then a scarf? Red jacket? or Red belt? or red what???? 🙂

  4. …. My comments got cut off… Anyway Thx for the reminder to pray for the families who have experienced such tragic loss. God bless

  5. HELP!! I have a nice pair of dressy black pants to wear with heels to parties. I thought I needed to replace them since they have fairly wide legs. Everything I saw in the stores today had wide legs! So, my question is….do I need slim leg dressy pants, or are the wide leg ones still in fashion?

I love the outfits you’ve shown us today!

    1. I recently purchased a pair of straight leg heavier weight black pants at loft, love them 🙂 I have wide legs in my closet, wanted a pair of straight, but not skinny.

    2. Cheryl I think you can wear either one. It does seem slimmer pants are a little more popular but wide legs are still “in.” Wear the pair that you feel looks the best on you!

  6. Slightly off topic, but I do love all the looks above! I got my first Stich Fix order this weekend and am keeping EVERYTHING!! I was beyond shocked, as I was prepared to send everything back because it was horrible or didn’t fit and I was completely wrong. (I have a hard time finding jeans at 5 ft. 9 in tall and was delighted with the grey skinnies they sent). I used your name when I started my account and placed the first fix, so I am hoping that whatever “perks” you get from referrals make it to you! I am so glad I checked it out! Mary

  7. I love that Stitch Fix dress – so much fun! But I also love the idea of wearing jewel tones like Burgundy… or hunter green or navy.

  8. Love the red sweater and the dresses! I see the snow on the ground…. We got a lot more than that this morning in southwestern ontario

  9. great looks and it is fun to try something unexpected especially since there are so many different reds and not all are flattering to everyone.
Also want to thank you for mentioning the beheadings. I know most would like to ignore and not have this intrude into the holidays but I sincerely believe He is glad you mentioned it since He too is grieving with the parents, siblings and friends of those murdered in this barbaric way.

  10. Thank you so much for doing this series. It’s gonna be so much fun. I’ve loved your humor the past few days as well. 😉 Love these looks-but I always love what you share!

  11. I love all of your outfits….especially the red dress and the last black slacks/burgundy blouse outfit. Are those the same black pants as the Loft link? I love the way they look high waisted on you….so fashionable…yet the Loft pair look different to me when I go to the link.

  12. LOVE them all. Esp red sweater. Did you get this year & what is fabric? I can’t wear wool. Thank you for a wonderful post!

  13. I’ve worn more than my share of red for Holiday events as well, but switched to cobalt and dark purple and loved that as well. A great look with the statement necklace and of course the leopard warms my heart… So funny that you happened to get snow… Can you believe I’m switching to 73 as a high today with low tonight at 39? crazy…
