What To Wear On Christmas Day

Welcome to our 12 Days of Holiday Outfits! Today it’s What To Wear On Christmas Day.

12 Days Of Holiday Outfits and More!
Aww Christmas Day. I had to laugh a little because if I didn’t have my family over for Christmas dinner, I would stay in my pajamas all day!

I don’t know about you all but by the time Christmas gets here, I’m tired.

Actually, I’m thankful I have my family over for Christmas dinner. Mom and Dad always had Christmas dinner at their house but since Mom passed away, I’ve had it at my house.

I never realized how much my Mom did at Christmas until she was gone. It’s funny how that happens. I treasure every Chritmas I had with her!

Now, What to Wear On Christmas Day!

I knew what I wanted to wear, I’ve seen these fair isle sweaters quite a bit and I thought it would be perfect for Christmas day.

What To Wear On Christmas Day

It’s a comfortable sweater which is always good but it’s also kind of festive looking.

These booties (similar here) are comfortable too so I can wear them all day.

I’ll keep my jewelry to a minimum since I’m going to be in the kitchen. I don’t do all the cooking, I have lots of help! 🙂

Beauty For the Heart~~“You’ll get through this. It won’t be painless. It won’t be quick. But God will use this mess for good. In the meantime don’t be foolish or naive. But don’t despair either. With God’s help you will get through this.

You, who are torn between families? You, who are still grieving the loss of a precious friend, your loved family member? You, who are wondering if in this season of miracles yours may have been lost?

Is it possible that God is using the trials of this season to strengthen you? I think so.” -Max Lucado

Have a blessed day!

  1. Ahhh, you have become the patriarch of Christmas family togetherness!! I bet you do an awesome job of it too!! Your Fair Isle sweater is gorgeous!!
Our tradition since we got married and spent our first Christmas while living in Castle Va Turnal, Italy where we had our first dinner at a friends house on Christmas Eve, is to hold our dinner on Christmas Eve every year since and then sit around with all our children and open gifts. My momma always used to hold our family gathering on Christmas Day until she passed away too. After her passing then we three sisters started holding our own with our immediate families as they grew. So now we hold ours still on Christmas Eve and then rest on Christmas Day and then take an evening ride to enjoy the lights!!
No, I do not have a Fair Isle Sweater, but i do have several festive sweaters and will be wearing one of them today into town for a little shopping.
I do not generally wear a sweater on Christmas Day as I do all the cooking with help from my two daughters, and the house heats up with kitchen cooking and fireplace going on in the family room. But I do have a festive apron I usually wear for that day. 🙂

  2. I love the Fair Isle sweaters…that blue is pretty is so pretty on you! I saw some pretty Fair Isle sweaters at OldNavy.com but haven’t gotten to a store yet to check the quality. I never know WHAT to wear on Christmas Day. We get up Christmas morning and travel for 2 hours before we reach my parents’ house, so I don’t want to get all crinkled up in the car. My Mother is always in the kitchen cooking up a storm in a beautiful skirt and sweater or blouse, her jewelry and a beautiful apron. She NEVER gets messed up!! Two of my sisters are always dressed up (no jeans), my youngest sister is a jean and cute sweater wearer, but she is much younger than I. I like to wear jeans, I am rarely out of them. So, I wear my jeans with a blouse or sweater. Somehow, I always feel under dressed, maybe it’s because my sisters who are closer in age to me, dress up as does my Mother. Your jeans and boots are darling with your sweater and look perfect to me for Christmas Day wear. Maybe I feel like I’m getting too old to wear jeans to certain events. I always said I’d never say, “I’m too old for…”. What do you think?

  3. Love your sweater. But if I’m cooking I would pass out from heat exhaustion in two layers Three quarter sleeves for me when cooking a big dinner. I have not gotten any fair isle yet but with Loft at 50% off today I may!
