Fashion For Women Over 40-2014

Happy New Year’s Eve! Today I’m sharing Fashion For Women Over 40 -2014. It’s kind of a year in review of all my outfits.

Fashion For Women Over 40-2014

I have to tell you, that I’m a little surprised at how much my blog has grown this year. I’m over 40 (ahem, well over 40), I’m not stick thin, I don’t wear Jimmy Choo shoes, I don’t wear Prada or Gucci anything.

I shop at Target, Old Navy, LOFT, Macy’s and even JC Penney’s. I talk about Jesus, which some people say isn’t politically correct.

For some reason, that I can’t explain, there are a lot of you out there that are kind enough to stop by here everyday. You’ve also shared my blog with your family and friends.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I don’t take for granted the fact that you take the time out of your busy life and join me here at Walking in Grace & Beauty. You have been a blessing to me!

I’m excited about 2015 and I’m kicking it off with 31 Days of Winter Outfits, starting tomorrow. Woo hoo!

I’m also going to be doing some organizing on my blog over the next month. I will have a page with all my outfits and the links so it will be easier for you to find them. Stay tuned for that!!

Here’s a look at my year in pictures:

  1. Hi. I m cindy also….and over 40 and I love the Lord. Thank you so much for showing the world that it is possible to be a woman over 40, a christian, a mom, and still be beautiful and fashionable.

  2. Cyndi, thank you for putting up all of 2014 monthly pictures. Is there anyway you can leave them on there for us to keep the outfit ideas in our heads? Love your website. Fun and very inspiring, and love the spiritual comments. Thanks so much.

  3. Hi Cyndi, great that you have this website. I am approaching 40 very soon and wish to elevate how I look too. I must say you do have a fabulous sense of style. And I just love your hairstyle!

    Cheers! God bless!

  4. Cyndi, this year, I will no longer be in my 40s but I will forever be ‘over 40’. This blog is great. Can’t wait to see more in 2015. Have a blessed year.

  5. Quick question about Sheaffer’s MUST HAVE jeans. I read her review, ran over to Nordstrom’s online to order but got stuck there. What size to order??? I wear an 8 in Loft jeans but by the end of the day they tend to look as if the family has moved out of them…saggy a bit. Did you order the same size in these MUST HAVEs as you wear through Loft?
Also, thank you so much for introducing us to Katie’s Bible study. So glad to get started on that today. 2015 is going to be a fabulous year.

  6. I know exactly why your blog is so popular (at least from the fashion side). It is because there are so few fashion blogs out there featuring fashion that real people want to wear. Having lost weight, I realized I needed ideas of how to look nice at 65. I am just not interested in wearing some of the extreme fashions I see on the Web. Your posts show nice outfits that are flattering and interesting but not extreme. Thanks!

  7. Hi Cyndi,
I stumbled upon your blog about a year and a half ago looking for fashion over 40. I had just turned 40, and had lost my sense of fashion after having children in my 20’s. I am so thankful for your blog not only for the fashion, but for the spiritual inspiration as well. I feel like you (even though we have never met) are helping me become what God wants me to become. Keep doing what you are doing, I love it.

  8. Cute outfits, affordable style, and a heart for Jesus Christ! Yep– that’s why I check out your blog every day and have told my other friends to do so! Happy New Year! look forward to reading your blog as you share your heart and cute outfits in 2015!

  9. Hi Cyndi,

I look forward each day to visiting your website. I love the outfits and your inspirational messages. Thank You!

    Marilyn

  10. Looking forward to your 31 Days of Winter Outfits and your entire Blog. Happy New Year and Blessings to you and your family in 2015 🙂

  11. Hi Cyndi,
I found your blog when I noticed how many of your outfits I pinned from Pinterest-I love your fashion taste! I’ve been checking in everyday for a few weeks now and just yesterday I started reading your archives….I feel like I’m getting to know a new friend! I am a Christ follower, I shop at Target, Old Navy, JCPenneys and Macys too….so keep doing what you do, the things that make you real are what we all love!! Happy New Year!

  12. Love your blog . I found it three months ago and log in everyday. The inspiration I receive is more than presenting a good image to the world, but respecting myself enough to fix myself everyday! Also live your wisdom for the heart. Keep up the good work:)

  13. Hi Cyndi, thanks for thus recap. Like someone above I gave a fashion look book I created, it’s in my closet. I found your blog in September and have loved it from day one! I loved your partnership with Alluson on the Build your wardrobe basics. My clothing choices have really expanded from that and the lovely ladies I met via the Facebook group. Your blog is real, and I lije to look stylish, even at 53. Who says we need to look dowdy at any age. I look forward to the Bibke study, I hope I signed up correctly, I’m not sure. Happy new year to you. I can’t wait to see your 31 days of winter fashion! Your new friend, Amy

  14. I am excited also to see what you do in 2015! Enjoy your blog so much. Since I am retired I am going to cut down on shopping & use that extra money on grands & to do things with friends. But your blog will come in handy to renew the things I already have in my closet. And to see what new things I can add to update.

  15. Cyndi, I wish you a joyous New Year. I enjoy your blog every day and find your spiritual comments to be very uplifting, especially in these times. You always look terrific and have given me some new inspiration in regard to my own wardrobe. Thanks for helping me remember that name brands are really not that important.
I wish your family special blessings for 2015.

  16. Hi Cyndi.

Looking forward to your blog in 2015. Love your outfits, especially those that are more fitted on you.
I joined the focus 15 group and bought the book. I have a FB request to join pending. Looking forward to this.

  17. I’m 40 something also, live in the south, love Jesus and have the exact same taste in fashion as you! I’m so glad I found your blog. I have very similar clothes in my closet. I just need help pulling it all together sometimes. Thank you! Happy New Year to you!

  18. I enjoy your blog because not only are you real but you are positive. I don’t mean the kind of positive that trys to say everything is 100% wonderful all of the time, but the kind of positive that says I am loved by the King and He and I can do anything together. The outfits you show are just an extra bonus!

  19. Cyndi, you are a “real” women and your readers are “real” women. So you shouldn’t be surprised……we don’t get credit for being in the majority (and I still think we are)…the world tries to tell us what we should wear or how we should behave but there are more of us than we know out there who love hearing about real life, real clothes and in a real budget……it’s so refreshing to find you and to visit with you everyday. You are a joy!!!!!!

    1. AMEN AND AMEN. Than you for saying what you said and only wish I could have said I so well ,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  20. Hi Cyndi~
Your blog is so successful because of how you put Christ first in your life. I appreciate that you are real and NOT perfect! Because none of us are. Thx for sharing your flaws and struggles too. It makes you relatable! God bless you and your family in 2015. Happy New Year! 🙂

  21. Thank you so much for all that you do! I just discovered you about 3 months ago!
I am 59 years old and struggle with putting outfits together. I want them to be age appropriate, but also stylish. You have helped me so much! More than that, I appreciate the fact that you are not afraid to take a stand for Jesus Christ! Than you for the scriptures that you post and for just being real!
May 2015 be your most blessed year ever!

  22. I only recently found your blog, about 4 or 5 months ago and I love it!! So nice to see someone who dresses like a regular person. I am slightly past 40 (57 actually) but don’t want to look like I am 57 and you give such good ideas plus you send a great message about God. Love your blog don’t change too much.

  23. LOVE your blog! Please don’t ever stop 😀
I saw something you posted recently about not knowing how much longer people would want to come read a 40 or older woman show fashion. I’m older than that (a little) and I will keep coming back to see what you write 4EVER!!! <3
    You are truly an inspiration!!!

  24. Cyndi, short and sweet. I love visiting you everyday because of the reasons you mentioned. Jesus is first, I’m a housewife and mother and grangmother. I don’t need Gucci or Prada to make me wonderful. I only want to be beautifully normal. I go to your website because you are like me. Our life is normal, not perfect, and we love it. I so look forward to visiting you everyday. Happy New Year yo you and yours!

  25. You hit the nail on the head! That is why so many woman keep coming back to your blog. The items you feature are affordable and accessible. You have made me realize than even though I’m not 40 anymore I can still look nice in my clothes. Oh, and I’m not stick thin either and because of this I don’t have many wrinkles! lol
Happy New Year to you and your family Cyndi. Can’t wait to see all you have to share in 2015.

  26. Happy and blessed New Year Cindi and to all your readers too! The reason we stop by your Blog daily is because you’re real, like we are. Your Blog brings daily encouragement regarding classy fashion on a realistic budget and helps us to dig deeper into the beauty we have in Christ! No doubt you’ll have a “fashionable crown” with many jewels on it in Heaven one day! 🙂 Having grown up a Pastor’s daughter, I know the ministry you have on this Blog is just a fraction of the service you provide as a Pastor’s wife in your church and community! May God’s peace and wisdom rest upon you and your family in 2015!
    ~ Nancy
PS: Still praying for that precious little girl with the rare brain cancer. Any updates on her?

  27. Love your blog…you have given me many lovely outfits to help out my wardrobe. I’m on my way to the big 60 and I really don’t like dressing like I’m in my 20s nor like dressing like an older woman either. You have given me many options to dress more my age. Thank you and Happy Year 2015!!!

  28. Thank you so much for the recap! I printed them out so I can put them in my fashion go to book when my fashion consultant (my 16 year old daughter) isn’t available to offer her opinion of what I’m wearing. Ha!

I look forward to your email in my inbox every day…what an inspiration you are to me!

Happy New Year to you and your family 🙂

    1. Lori, what a great idea!… my 25 yr old gets tired of me standing in front of a mirror, taking a picture and sending it to her before I will leave the house! lol

  29. Cyndi,

All those reasons you listed are exactly why we love to stop by! You give us what we crave – fashion ideas for real women who don’t want to dress like a 20-something, but still want to look fashionable and cute (and modest!). No Prada or Gucci here, I shop at the same places you do. Thanks for being such an inspiration and I’m looking forward to what you have to share with us in 2015! Happy New Year!!

  30. Happy New Year to All. Love your blog, just a few suggestions for the future. Maybe some ideas for cruisewear or the beach and pool. Also some ideas for the gym as athletic wear now out sells jeans. Like your blog I check in everyday.

  31. I am in my last year of the 40’s and enjoying every moment of it… Your blog is successful because you are a real women(not plastic version) in our age group. You are trying new trends and letting us join along for the ride. Your faith grounds you and thereby us.. Thank you so much for being a wonderful inspiration!

  32. Happy New Year Cyndi! Thank you for sharing your life with us. Hope 2015 brings much happiness for you and your family 🙂

  33. I’m ready for a New Year!
I have two more years before I hit 40, but wow is it fast approaching!
I appreciate that you talk about Jesus and your faith on your blog. I follow a couple of other fashion blogs, but it seems their lives consist only of new shoes, hand bags and Starbucks. I’m sure that’s not the case, but I like the honesty that comes through in your blog. I also appreciate that your outfits don’t cost $1,000 🙂
Keep up the good work, and I hope 2015 is filled with many blessings for you and your family.
