31 Days Of Winter Fashion-Day 6

Hello! It’s Day 6 of my 31 Days of Winter Fashion and our weather is getting brutal. I have to have a cup of coffee in my hand to stay warm! 🙂

I was trying to mix some brown and black today. Mainly because I wanted to wear this brown infinity scarf. This scarf was made for these cold weather days!

I’m wearing a pair of wedge heels. I like them but I wanted to wear my over the knee black boots.

Remember these boots? I love them but my daughter borrowed them and she hasn’t given them back yet. She came over for lunch on Sunday after church but she was wearing them and I hated to take them off of her, but now I’m wishing I had!

When I wear bulky scarves like this brown one, I don’t like to wear big earrings. I love these stud earrings from Stella & Dot. I wear them all the time.

Here is a better picture of the earrings.

Wouldn’t those tall wedge boots look great with this outfit??

Beauty For the Heart~~This week in our online bible study we’re studying Romans 7:15-25. I love these verses because of Paul’s honesty.

Romans 7:15 (NLT), “I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate.”

Oh how I’ve thought of this verse when I open my mouth and say something that I didn’t mean. I don’t like it when my “flesh” side rears it’s ugly head.

Thankfully, God has given me freedom (my word for the year!) through Christ. I can confess it and He is faithful to forgive.

Have a blessed day!

  1. Cyndi! Get your boots back! Those boots would look so great with the outfit you’re wearing today. I have a young adult daughter who sometimes can “spirit” things away from me and I never realize she has not returned them until I need them. Those naughty girls! 🙂 I like your combo of the black and brown. I’ve never been quite successful trying to combine black with brown. I do have one semi-fitted mocha cardigan that I wear over a black tissue cotton turtleneck. I like that a lot, perhaps it is the mocha rather than a chocolate brown that makes it more appealing.

  2. I really want to start mixing brown and black. I am trying to find a tall pair of brown boots to wear this winter. Of course, I am trying to look for something on sale and not having much luck. Any of Cyndi’s readers out there had any luck lately with a good boot sale?

  3. I have been wondering about mixing brown and black, I have brown vera Wang leggings and a cream oversized sleeveless sweater, I haven’t bought the right brown knee high boots yet, could I wear black boots with this and put a black or darker shade of brown than the leggings under the sweater?? What would you do Cyndi?

  4. Mom, I’m wearing them again today! I think I have worn them everyday since I got them, haha 🙂

  5. Good point about the smaller earrings with a bulky scarf! I will remember that. Do any other ladies of a certain age (ahem) find those bulky infinity scarves get HOT? I sure do!

    1. I was admiring this outfit and THOUGHT THE SAME THING! My mid 40s are proving to be scarf-less years for me. I would love to learn of a workaround. Nothing pulls together an outfit like a pretty scarf.

BTW- great site. I’ve been admiring from afar on Pinterest.

  6. Hi Cyndi.

I think either of the wedge boots would look great! 2014 was a tough one for Courtney, so I say give her the boots. 🙂 That would probably mean more to her than buying her another pair, since she obviously loves them. Maybe Rack Room will send you another pair. Just give them the hint. LOL

Hope you have a great day. Love your blog always.

  7. Hi Cyndi, love your outfits. I was just wondering with a scarf like the one you are wearing in this post, would you take it off when you get inside or continue to wear it. I match my scarves to my outfit minus a coat and when I get to work, I hate to take the scarf off, but I’m wondering if the colder weather scarves are not meant to be worn inside.

    1. I think it just depends on the venue and event you’re at – some casual places that you’ll be in and out quick it’s totally acceptable to wear the scarf, but for events like a longer dinner, you may want to shed a layer for your own comfort.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  8. Hi Cindy – I somehow I missed the post with the info on your over the knee black boots.. they are so cute!! where did you find them?
    You look great!

  9. I like the wedge heels with your outfit! Just cuff your jeans and you’ll be spot on with today’s fashion….or so I’m told!! Love reading your blog!

  10. Love your blog! However, when I click on a link to an item, I get a blank page. Is your personal style area (in Stella & Dot, for example) not public? Or what am I doing wrong?

    1. Check to make sure it isn’t something with your ad-blocking settings. Yesterday, I couldn’t use any drop down menus. Luckily, I just restarted my computer, and the settings went back to previous. Good luck. I tried Cyndi’s links, and they work for me also.
