31 Days of Winter Fashion-Day 8

Well, it’s Day 8 of my 31 Days of Winter Fashion and today I’m styling my plaid scarf from Target again.

I recently saw this picture on Pinterest and knew I had several pieces that I could put together and copy this look. I can’t find the source to this picture so if any knows who it is, let me know in the comments. Source.

I don’t have any cute red boots but I’ve been eyeing these Hunter red boots (I finally got a pair, you can see them styled here) for a long time! I feel like they’re calling my name. Ha!

Since we’re talking boots, some of you have been worried I was going to snatch MY favorite black boot back from my daughter who borrowed them.

Here’s a picture of me wearing them. They’re from Rack Room shoes but you can’t order these online, you have to get them in the store. Have no fear, I’ve purchased another pair so Courtney can keep the boots. All is well! 🙂

Back to the Pinterest inspired picture! This is my version. I wore this Gap sweater on Day 3 with my red vest but today I’m wearing it with my red scarf.

Gotta love the never ending wind that keeps blowing here!

This Target scarf is a stiffer scarf so I just wrap it around my neck and tie it and tuck it and it stays in place.

Many of you ask about the handbags I carry. I don’t change handbags very often. I like to find one I like and stick with it. I purchased this traveler tote from All’asta. It’s a newer company and a friend of mine who’s a young pastor’s wife is selling it. They have young children and if you want to support them, I know she would appreciate any orders!

I also got this cute pouch for Christmas. I put my lipsticks and glosses in it. I’m a sucker for anything with initials. It’s a southern thing!

Here’s a coat I’ve been wearing a lot this winter. It’s an Andrew Marc coat that I received in one of my Stitch Fix boxes. Love!

Does Pinterest help you find outfits? What did we do before Pinterest!

Beauty For the Heart~~I was thinking how I like to copy outfits on Pinterest. I try to look like the person in the picture.

But truthfully, what’s on my inside is so much more important! And there’s only one person I’m trying to imitate and that’s Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 5:1-2 (NLT) reminds us of this, “Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.”

Let’s be imitators of Christ! Have a blessed day!

  1. I wish you would do a video demonstrating the ways to tie the scarfs in your different styles so we could see exactly and then try to copy. Thanks!

  2. i just got this scarf for Christmas!! I love it! It has so many colors that you can wear it with almost anything.

  3. I love your All’asta consultant, Taylor Phillips! She is an amazing consultant. The travelers tote looks great on you!

  4. The link for the Andrew Marc coat isn’t coming up. Can you tell me where I might purchase one.

    Thanks

  5. Love the outfit and thanks to you I got the scarf in December . But I’m struggling with it to make it look like you do do you tie it in the front or back and how do you tuck. Would love to see a scarf tutorial . So look forward to your post and uplifting message
    Thanks so much

  6. I love your outfits but I can’t wear jeans to work everyday…can you show some ideas for business casual outfits. I would wear jeans everyday if I didn’t work. Thanks! You are beautiful inside and out!

  7. So happy that you let Courtney keep the boots. 🙂

I, too, love Pinterest! I spend my time in carpool looking at Pinterest.

I wish I could wear scarves, but they look awful on me. They look great on you. 🙂

  8. Such a cute outfit and toses red hunters would be perfect! I think Hunter should send you a pair for advertising! I bought a similar scarf for my daughter and love it but like another commented, it would be too hot for me! Also, the bigger scarves mess with my hair and it’s about your length. Is that ever a problem for you? I knew you were going to give those boots to Courtney! Way to go!

  9. Thank you I have learned many tips from your outfits. I have a question- why do you roll your pants (skinny) when you wear booties?

  10. I forgot a question when I posted earlier. Are all the closets in your home filled with your clothes???? You have such great clothes and shoes!!!!

    1. Yes!!!! I’m planning on having a garage sale this spring to sell a bunch of clothes and giving the money to our church. 🙂
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  11. You’re such a great mom to let your daughter keep the boots you loved. I’m glad you found another pair just like them. I love the plaid scarf, but I could NEVER wear any kind of scarf because I’m always hot and I know I couldn’t wear one this heavy. But it looks so cute on you!!!

  12. just wondering about your skinny jeans…do you roll up the bottom of the pant leg or was that the way the pant was sold?

  13. I too wonder what we did before Pinterest. I get so many outfit ideas, recipes, and ideas for school, I’d be lost without it. My husband always laughs and says I’m just look at pictures again. He’s so silly.
Cyndi, I have a question for you. I purchased some of the essesntial oils. The one for stress, the tranquility one and one of the ones for menopause. I’ve only tried the tranquility one so far. Does it take a while for your body to beneifit from the oil. I can smell it when I put it on, but I’m not sure it’s helping me sleep any better or even relax so that I can sleep. What are your thoughts for it’s use?

    1. Yes it does some times take a few weeks to start helping. I put tranquility on the back of my neck right before I lay down at night.
Sometimes placing it on different points. Try the bottom of your feet or your wrists. Also put it on a few hours before you go to bed, maybe that will help you relax a little.
Let me know I can help in any way!
      Cyndi

  14. You sold me on that scarf – last month! I got one for myself and one for each of my nieces and sister in law! It was no longer available online at the time (and by the way, isn’t available online now -I just checked), and I had to drive all over town to pick it up at a Target (out of stock in the store by me). Then I had to get my mom to pick up three more at her store – because the store I found it in had no more!

Now – I love the scarf, but it is “oversize” and VERY WARM. I really can’t wear it all day inside, even here in chilly Michigan. I’ve been pondering cutting it in two and fraying the edge, but I’m scared I’ll ruin it! I may just look for a lighter weight plaid, and/or a SMALLER scarf – with the same beautiful Christmas/winter colors. So far no luck with that.

  15. I really am not sure what I did before Pinterest…I get so many ideas for outfit combos and have really increased the number of outfits with items I already own.
