It’s Day 14 of my 31 Days of Winter Fashion and today I’m trying to help with the winter blahs by adding color!
I have to say that I’m sooooo thankful I was able to get my hair cut and colored yesterday. I was past due and honestly I thought I was going to have to stop taking pictures. It was getting bad. 🙂
Anyway, winter can be blah. I’m not a huge fan of cold and dark weather. Wayne and I try to get out at night because neither one of us like to sit for very long.
We laugh about our date nights because a lot of the time we’re visiting someone at home or in the hospital. It’s a part of ministry but we both love it. After our visits we’ll go out to dinner or do some shopping.
When our children were young, I wasn’t able to go with Wayne but now that we’re empty nester’s I get to go make visits with him. I miss my children being home but I also love this season of our marriage.
Okay, back to my outfit. I decided to pop some color to help with the winter blahs. I’ve been eyeing this wrap cardigan for a while.
I’ve seen it on several people in tan but I already have a tan cape so I needed a different color. I decided to go with coral spice!
Let me just say, this wrap is so soft and comfortable and warm. I love it!
They’re soft and stretchy but they don’t stretch and become bigger by the end of the day. Crazy! You’ll probably see them on me a lot. For reference, I’m wearing a size 6. They have all sizes in right now.

I just loved this on you, so I went to Nordstrom’s and purchased it 🙁 Why does it look so different on me. I’m guessing it’s because I’m 5’3″. It just looks terrible. I’m going to try it on another day…maybe it’s just my mood.

So I just have to say I rarely will buy things that bloggers showcase on their blogs, but I had to order this wrap! I got it in turquoise and it’s just LOVELY! I am busty and I think it looks great on me. Besides that it’s the softest thing ever and the way it feels is incomparable. I took it out of the box and had to wear it right away! Looks great with a long tank and leggings and boots if you’re going casual (I’m 35 but I like your blog anyway ;). I ordered another one in black because I loved it so much! Nordstroms has free shipping and free returns so…why not right?

Sharon, how about sizing on those jeans. I just cancelled my order b/c i kept reading others say order down a size, what did you do?
Amy I did size down. I’m 5’2 and usually wear a 4 but ordered a 2 and I’m so glad! The fabric is really giving but they have not stretched out and become baggie like some denim tends to do. I have short legs so they are long but I’ll roll them up with booties and flats. Hope this helps!
Amy, I am 5’6″. I ordered a 4. The first time I wore them they did not stretch. I did not wash them before wearing like the tag says. ( shhh!) After washing them for the first time, I hung them to dry after fluffing Inthe dryer on low for a minute or two. They dried with wrinkles so I ironed the wrinkles out on the steam setting of my iron. The jeans did stretch after I wore them for a couple of hours. I was wishing that I had ordered a 2. I do have a flat bottom so all jeans and pants sag on me a bit, but these really felt big after stretching. I will skip the ironing next time to see if that helps to keep them from stretching. Hope this helps.
HI Cyndi, You look fantastic in that color! I finally bit the bullet and ordered the wit and wisdom jeans. I’ve been watching everyone go on and on about them so I thought i better buy a pair. I bought my normal size, so i hope that i don’t regret it and have to return. I have that wrap already in white and blue stripe, bought it 2 years ago from Nordstrom, so the flurry around them makes me smile. I also finally bought that “must have” shirt from pinterest made me do it as well. I’ll let you know if it’s as fabulous as everyone says it is…love your blog.

I too like to add color to my wardrobe in the winter. I do have a question about colored pants. I have ordered a pair of teal corduroy pants and need some ideas of what to wear with them other that gray, brown, tan, and black. Any suggestions?

The pop of color looks good with your new haircut/color! I always feel my prettiest after a cut and color…the little things, right? I like to wear red and pink together when the dreary gray skies of winter bother me…the colors make me happy. :). Blessings

Very pretty color combination and the Andrew Marc coat looks fabulous with your wrap! I do add pops of color this time of year, just can’t help myself! I’ve noticed that the fashions in the stores are beginning to lighten and brighten up as well. Beautiful!!! I’ve had my eye on that Nordstrom wrap for a while and LOVE that coral spice color. If you don’t mind me asking, what size did you order? I’m trying to decide if I should order an xs or small. I’m usually an xs at Loft, but I do have a few tops that are a small.

No, you are helpful! If you are usually a small at Loft, but sometimes an xs and bought a small in the Nordstrom wrap, then I think I will try the extra small since I’m the opposite. I’m usually an extra small, but sometimes go with a small. If I look half as nice in one as you do, I will be happy!

I’m so glad you said you wear a long coat with a long wrap. I had my husband buy me a long winter coat last year for Christmas because I hated having my wraps stick out from my waist coats. He thought I should just cram it up under my short coat…oh, silly men. 😉
I would love some style ideas of what to wear on an upcoming trip to Miami! I’m turning 50 (YIKES) this Friday so I’m flying out on the tail end of a business trip for my husband to celebrate! 🙂 EXCITED to get out of the midwest freezer! I am about the same size as you (6) and with turning 50, I have NO idea what to pack on this trip! The style in Miami and my style aren’t even close….can you help me??

Pam I usually wear a 6 or an 8. I wear more 6’s and they said to order down a size. I knew I couldn’t wear a 4 so I went with the 6 and they fit perfect.
I wear a 6 at LOFT if that helps you at all.
