28 Days of Spring Fashion (Day 14)

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! It’s Day 14 of my 28 Days of Spring Fashion. I’m halfway through it!

Since I’m not showing you any green fashion today, I’m drinking coffee from my green coffee mug. That counts, right?

Let’s first talk printed pants. Umm, they’re everywhere this spring. Some of you have asked for “work wear” outfits. If I worked outside the home this would be what I would wear.

Next, can we take a moment for the shoes. I have been looking everywhere for a pair of heels like this. I finally found them at Kohl’s. They’re Simply Vera Vera Wang Hooded Dress Shoes in Taupe.

You know I love color so this lightweight sweater from LOFT is perfect for cool spring days. The tank is a separate piece from the sweater. I purchased the tank from the LOFT too but couldn’t find it online.

Have you tried any printed pants this spring?

**One last thing, these coats are on sale at LOFT (here and here). So so cute!! I purchased the green one and I love it!**

Beauty For the Heart~~
It’s there in the newborn cry
There in the light of every sunrise
There in the shadows of this life
Your great GRACE

It’s there on the mountain top
There in the everyday and the mundane
There in the sorrow and the dancing
Your great GRACE
Oh such GRACE

From the creation to the cross
There from the cross into eternity
Your GRACE finds me, yes your GRACE finds me -Matt Redmon

Have a blessed day!

  1. You are just absolutely adorable. I just stumbled upon your website and love all the outfits. So glad I found you and look forward to seeing more 🙂

  2. I seem to be the minority here. Sorry Cyndi but I like nothing about htis outfit. The pants look baggy and don’t like the print at all. You have too cute a figure to hide it under baggy pants. I don’t like the tank hanging out under the top. And don’t care for peek-a-boo shoes. I know the old saying, if you can’t say something nice…but this is just a miss with me. I normally like your outfits so much. Sorry to be such a downer. I admire you for taking chances though.

  3. Interesting comments today. I think the thing that’s really “pyjama-y” is the print which is really common this year in sleepwear. I like the look on you. I’d have to do flatter shoes that didn’t cut off my leg since I’m shorter and only do printed bottoms if I’m slim. I don’t need to draw attention to my lower extremities sometimes! 🙂
I really like drawstring pants especially for the Summer and look forward to that post. I have them in linen, fine cotton and silk. I think they look so casually elegant. I always wear some sort of wedge heel, but your new shoes would rock that look, too.
Now if I can only remake my flower-printed jeans that I’ve been saving all these years. They’re exactly as shown above, but a different cut, which I think will look like MOM jeans! Oh well. Probably time to let them go. 🙁

    1. Oh Kim, just strap them on and wear them to the grocery store or wherever life leads you! I think they are casual enough to wear in everyday life!

      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  4. The poem you posted is beautiful! I was happy to see you wearing a light colored sweater. I am a brunette also and I tend to shy away from light colors. But you look good in it. I will have to do more experimenting, especially with spring and summer on the way!

  5. I don’t see anything about the printed pants that resembles pajamas, lol!!! Everything about this look is spot on! I bought two pair of printed pants last spring and enjoy wearing them. I know we’re not suppose to covet, but I love your shoes and I must order the Stella and Dot necklace. I’m really liking the pretty pop of color with the black and white, too!

  6. Cyndi, the pants look great and I love the pop of color! I like the shoes you chose with the pants as they style well together! I am 55 and have some longer printed pants that I wear with a simple black t-shirt and they are so fun! You wear this style well!

  7. Cyndi, maybe you or the other ladies could explain the “hi-water” or “flood” britches,
    I just don’t get it.
Now that my question is out of the way. ..
I do like the outfit, just not how short the pants are.
    Really appreciate your posts.
    Many thanks!

    1. me too on the hi water britches. also, I thought the pants were going to be longer and a bit wider or not so form fitting this season. ???

    2. Katt, they’re capri pants. Capri’s can hit anywhere above the ankle. I prefer mine to hit below the widest part of my calf.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

      1. Cyndi,
OH! … I noticed on the pics of the models (who happen to taller than the average woman) that they look more like capris.
Thank you for clarifying. Glad I wasn’t the only one wondering.
I’m living on the “very” south coast of Tx, (right on the beach) and have been told OUR style down here is about 10 yrs behind
(vs New York). I don’t really agree with 10 yrs, maybe 5 to 7. Haha.
        But it’s all good.
        Since following you Cyndi ,
I’m ahead of the times & setting trends.
        Thank you so much.
I really appreciate your dedication to helping all of us ladies.

  8. Love love this outfit!! Love the bright sweater with the black and white pants. Love that this outfit is appropriate for most offices, but still comfortable! Thank you for all your wonderful ideas!

  9. Cindi, I just got home from shopping at Loft and bought the same tank you’re wearing to go under a similar sweater I also bought from Loft! I also found the Lou and Grey sweater dress that you modeled this past winter. I have looked and looked for the dress and they had one left in my size on clearance! My lucky day! You shoes are very cute…wish I could wear heels like that.

  10. Your outfit is really cute…love the shoes. I have 2 pair of printed palazzo pants from last summer, comfy. I need to visit the outlets in Sevierville & check the printed pants 🙂 Have you done a post on mixing & matching your wardrobe for trips? I have a trip next month & I ALWAYS pack to much & not great at the wardrobe planning 🙁 Love the “heart” message for today! Have a blessed day!

  11. Love todays outfit! I am not wearing green today either, so glad to know I am in good company.
I have several pairs of printed pants I bought last fall for this spring (on sale!) and am thrilled to know they are in style. I love the color of your top too! WIll go check that out at Loft ASAP. That is going to be my signature color this spring.

  12. I love the outfit and I love the printed paints. The scarf that you showed from Target the other day I loved so much I went to our Target to see if they had. They did not, but I did find it on-line. I must order. Love your daily posts and the blessings from your posts.

    1. I found the striped scarf from Target, on line but I love and want the dark blue with roses one . Did Sandra find the blue one at Target??

  13. Cute, but wouldn’t be appropriate for my work. Patterns like that would get me laughed out of the board room. We are a business casual office, but not that casual. Not so much inappropriate as too distracting.

  14. Thanks so much! Love this outfit. I did actually buy a printed ankle pant last spring from Talbots. They are the yellow and white leaf print. I wear a white blouse or t-shirt and a teal sweater. I am trying to incorporate more of your style in to my wardrobe. Thanks for the great ideas and inspirations!

  15. Cyndi – style question – do you have the tank tucked in the back? Such a cute outfit and I LOVE print pants. I’ve loved them since I was in my 20’s; I’ll have to try to find a pair this spring! Also, I signed up for Young Living and received my Essential Oils Pocket Guide yesterday from you – WOW – it contains a wealth of information about essential oils! My 24 year old daughter read it for over an hour last night! We have lots more oils we need to buy! THANKS so much for sending that to me!

    1. Hey Sandy,
No I don’t have the tank tucked in the back. It hangs out in the front and back. Very comfortable!
Yay!! I’m so glad you got the book. It is amazing!! There are so many wonderful oils to try.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

    1. Sorry Cindy but the pants are a fail with me. They look like pajama pants and I would never wear something like this. I do love your shoes though!

      1. They really aren’t pajama pants and the material is way too stiff. I have some pajama style pants that I’m going to style. 🙂 I think they would be great to wear to the beach. Wish I lived close to one!
        Blessings,
        Cyndi
