What I Wore-The Striped Dress

Happy Hump Day! Today I’m sharing the striped dress and different ways to style it for spring/summer.

Back in March, I purchased this striped dress from Old Navy. I liked it, but I wasn’t sure if I would wear it a lot. Surprisingly, I could live in this dress!

We are traveling to Dallas, Texas and we have stopped in Hot Springs, Arkansas for a couple of nights. This dress is perfect for traveling. It doesn’t wrinkle and it’s super comfortable! It comes in different colors and I think I’m going to order another one!

We are staying at Lookout Point Lakeside Inn and I highly recommend it if you’re in the area. These pictures were taken right outside our room. The view is gorgeous!

Another thing I didn’t think I would wear much are these converse sneakers but I wear them all the time!

  1. Love all the ideas with the striped dress and it has inspired me to be on the lookout for one! I hope you enjoyed your stay in the great state of Arkansas. I am a little impartial since it’s my home state lol. I love going to Hot Springs, I always find something new to see each time I go!

  2. Beautiful little dress, looks gorgeous on you. Love it with the tennis shoes, and can drop the jacket off on a hotter day… very cute! Loved the quote in Beauty for the Heart!! <3

  3. I have a very similar dress (that is a pinch longer) from Forever 21 a few years ago & love wearing it with my white jean jacket. Thanks for the suggest to wear it with white tennis shoes.

  4. as usual you look great. I am very curious to know how many that will be trying this horizontal striped dress are similar to your build ?????
if I wore that dress I would look like the tentmaker or awning maker that tried to wear clothing made from his inventory.

  5. Adorable!! I love the converse with it. Does the dress fit true to size or is it a little clingy because of the knit? I started following you because you dress so perfectly. I’m 46 and I didn’t want to look like I was trying to dress like a teenager. I wanted to look fun but classy at the same time. You help me do that! Thank you so much for helping all of us walk in grace and beauty like you.

    1. Hey Renee!
The dress is clingy but it has stretch in it. I purchased the medium and it fits great!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog.
      Blessings,
      Cyndi

  6. Yes Love Hot Springs! I second Fat Bottoms cupcakes! They were filming for Cupcake Wars when we were there! Love that outfit yes a miliarty vest would be cute! Saw some at Nordstrom’s rack! There is one Downtown Dallas! Love Dallas too! Oh also Forever 21 had them too! Have a lovely time!

  7. You look adorable in that dress!!! Cute as can be – so yes, you should order it in another color!! Enjoy your mini vacation and time together!!

  8. Love the dress – just ordered the grey one, wishing they had more in my size available. They are 30% off right now.

  9. I am seriously loving that dress. I just ordered some stuff from Old Navy and now I’m afraid I may need to go back and order that, too! Just a quick question…how tall are you? I’m 5’6″ so I know I should probably order a regular, but I’m thinking of ordering a tall so it goes down to the knee on me.
You look great, as always! Blessings!

  10. Enjoy Hot Springs – you’re only about 45 minutes from me. Lake Hamilton is beautiful and Hot Springs is a neat little city. For breakfast you should try the Pancake Shop on Central Avenue. It’s a neat little old-timey place with a good breakfast. If you’re looking for a little more upscale – that isn’t your place. But it’s a staple for a visit to HS. Then saunter on down a few doors (same side of the street) to Fat Bottomed Girls Cupcake Shoppe. You’ll be gald you did – your waistline might not agree but The Food Network featured them on Cupcake Wars. Go ahead – you’re on vacation. Splurge a little.
Enjoy your time in the Spa City and in the Big D. Safe travels.

  11. Lookout point lakeside inn is our favorite bed and breakfast ever!!!!! My husband has taken us twice!!! Enjoy! Cute dress too!!

  12. I would be seen all the time in that dress and shoes if I looked as good as you do!!! I thought the denim vest was my favorite until I saw the military vest, but I can’t decide which looks best. I printed your “Beauty for the Heart” quote today to hang in my office. I love it!!

  13. You look great in this dress. I always stayed away from stripes because I thought they made me look even “wider” than I am. But you look good. I may give it a try.

  14. We went to Charleston for spring break and I took three of these ON dresses with me! I wore them every day!! I have been searching for a military vest. Any ideas? You look fabulous! Have a great day! Susan

      1. Sometimes they are tough to find-consider a jacket that’s been marked down or has worn elbows and turn it into a vest.

  15. I have that dress to Cyndi and LOVE it! So many ways to wear it and the little bit of stretch in the dress makes is so comfy!
Cute looks as always on your blog!

  16. Oh my goodness…this dress looks adorable on you!!! I ordered but I didn’t even try it on because it looked too small and I haven’t been back to try a larger size….on my list after reading your post! Have fun on your trip..and welcome to Texas!
