The Cross Made You Flawless

If you’ve been following my blog for very long, you know I’m passionate about sharing God’s grace. I have been on the receiving end of His mercy and His grace and it’s hard for me not to share it.

the cross made you flawless
More than anything, I want to encourage you in your walk with Christ. I want you to experience walking in freedom. Freedom from past failures, freedom from past mistakes and to spell it out, freedom from past SINS.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that you’ve been forgiven so go live how ever you want.

Paul says in Romans 6:1-2Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace?  Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?

We must be striving for holiness (Hebrews 12:14). But so many of us live with guilt and shame for past mistakes.

I love this quote by Bart Millard from MercyMe…..

And I think the one thing we miss is that grace says “no matter how beat up you are, no matter what you go through in life, no matter how difficult life is, the cross made you flawless.” The day you came to Christ you were made brand new. It’s all in place for the rest of your life.”

When I started watching this video, I wasn’t getting all the paint but if you watch the whole thing, you’ll get it! We all struggle, we were all unique but Christ makes us beautiful and flawless.

You are a New Creation!
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has gone, the new has come.” 2 Cor. 5:17

You are righteous and holy.
“And to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” Ephesians 4:24

You are saved by grace as a gift, not because of your performance.
“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.” Ephesians 2:8

Have a blessed day!

  1. Hi Cindy! Just wanted to say that it is because of this glorious song that has been in my spirit that I googled the lyrics and then looked for bible studies on the wonderful “The Cross Has Made You Flawless” and found your site. YaY!! So since I’m a woman of God and over 40 I think I will have a look around. Thank you for sharing! Blessings my sister in Christ.

  2. I love this song and the message. Too often people try to bring up past sins after someone has decided to give their life to christ becoming a new creature. There is no shame in those past sins because they all worked together to get you to this point where you accepted God’s grace, His son and decided to join in the body of Christ emerging brand new.

  3. Thank you for sharing this Cyndi! Love the video and amen to the cross making us all FLAWLESS! God is so good!

  4. Thank you for sharing God’s love and forgiveness through Christ. I received Jesus many years ago. But I do struggle with shame and guilt. Especially since my son has struggled with drug addiction over the past 8 years. I was the one who initially took him to the Doctor for abscesses that led to a pain pill addiction and now heroin and jail time. I have asked God to forgive me for my part but it is still difficult and painful.

    1. Praying for you Beth and for your son. I would well imagine you sought medical help for your son because you loved him and hurt for him in his pain. As parents we make our decisions by how God leads us or for what we understand at the time. Your son is blessed to have a Mom who loved him then and loves him so much now. I pray for God’s protection over his life and that he’ll be set free his addiction very soon. God bless you.

      1. I can’t thank you enough for your kind and encouraging words Nancy. Thank you also for your prayers. May the Lord bless you for your understanding and compassion to me. God has used you to bring me great comfort today. Thank you. Beth

  5. Thank you so much for sharing this song! What a tremendous message! I struggle with the future rather than the past, but either way, it adds up to the same thing: lack of faith and trust in God. So thankful for His mercy and grace! We all need it.

  6. Cyndi,
Thank you for your blog and especially your boldness and post today!! And I totally agree with Ginger P!! 🙂 I hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday!

  7. Thank you, Cyndi, for the wonderful scripture! It is so true!
Praise God from whom all blessings flow!!

  8. Thank you Cyndi! i am so thankful I found you on-line. I hope you’ve had a blessed day!

  9. Cyndi, thank you for this. I heard this said a few weeks ago “the weight of the cross crushes the weight of the millstone around our neck.” Amen for God’s amazing grace!!

  10. AMEN! If just one person reads your blog and is saved, what a wonderful testimony to your choice to always include scripture with your postings!

  11. Oh Cyndi, your post today shot right through my heart, it is my greatest weakness and perhaps my greatest sin. I have buried myself in my past mistakes and live them over and over again. I have begged God’s forgiveness over and over again, knowing that continuing to ask for the forgiveness my Gos gave me when I first asked Him, therefore showing Him my lack of faith that He truly forgave me. I then pray for forgiveness that I doubted Him. It is a vicious cycle, one I hope to free myself of so I can live in the peace that is the love and mercy of Jesus Christ. Thank you for this post. Be blessed.

    1. I’m praying for you Judy. I’ve been right where you are too. Christ convicts but He doesn’t condemn. Satan on the other hand loves to condemn Believers and keep them in bondage. I pray your mind and heart will be filled with the freedom you have in Christ! Keep looking UP! 🙂

      1. Hi Nancy, Isn’t Christ always so good to us? When we are down or feeling uncertain in our faith, He finds a way to show Himself to us to let us know He understands. Today, He came to me through you. How blessed I am and you are as He chose you to bring me His message. Thank you for your words and helping me to remember how evil is the work of Satan that he would be so determined to keep me in sin and unable to accept my Lord’s forgiveness. I treasure your words and will use them as a constant reminder of God’s love. I am so grateful to you. Be Blessed!
