Welcome! We’re finally at the best part of the meal—the dessert (at least it’s my favorite part of the meal)! Can I just say, it smells wonderful! Can you smell the cinnamon, apples, and butter? This dish will definitely add the aroma of fall to your home!
I’m thrilled to be working with 6 other amazing bloggers to bring you a Fall Progressive Dinner. Since it’s online you can’t taste the food but I know you’re going to have some great recipes to try at home.
Some of you might be new around here, but for those who’ve been following my blog for a while, you know I’m trying to eat healthier. I’ve cut out a lot of processed food. I’ve also cut out white bread, and white sugar, for the most part.
Of course, every once in a while I do break down and eat something that’s not on my “clean” eating plan. And if I’m going to do that, it better be good, and trust me these apple turnovers are that good!
Here are the ingredients for Mountain Dew Apple Turnovers~~
2 Granny Smith Apples 2 cans of Pillsbury Crescent rolls 2 sticks of Salted butter (I used organic butter) 1 1/2 cups of sugar (I used organic sugar) 1 12oz. can of Mountain Dew 1 teaspoon of vanilla Cinnamon (I used organic cinnamon)Directions:
First, peel and core the apples. Then slice each apple into 8 slices.
Next, wrap each slice of apple in a crescent roll and place in a 13×9 inch buttered baking dish.
Melt 2 sticks of butter and then add sugar and vanilla. Pour over crescent rolls.
Now pour the Mountain Dew over the crescent rolls. Sprinkle the top with cinnamon. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30-45 minutes.
They come out looking like this! Yum!
Add some ice cream and wow, de-lish! Of course I have to have a cup of coffee too!
This is a perfect dessert for a fall progressive dinner!
