I’m not sure what I was expecting from the Relevant Conference.  I knew I would meet fellow bloggers. I like to think of them as “kindred spirits”.  These ladies understand why I love to blog, why I love to read blogs, and why I call people I’ve never met my friends. We’re a different breed.

Many of you know that I lost my Mom in September 2009 to gastric cancer. I can’t begin to tell you the void that has left in my life. Mom was my mentor, my best friend, my confidant, and a million other things. Losing her has changed the way I view everything!

Mom introduced me to blogs. She began reading them and then encouraged me as a pastor’s wife and Mom to start my own blog and see how God could use it. So I did. Mom had no idea how this blog would bless my life.

Before Mom passed away she became intentional about looking for blessings in all circumstances. She was dying, but in the midst of it she found blessings from God everywhere.

The Relevant Conference was that for me………..a blessing!

I was blessed by all the speakers as they reminded us that our relationship with the Lord must come first.

They encouraged us to love and encourage our husband and our children and to make sure our blogging did not come before any of these relationships.

I was blessed by all the beautiful women I met. I loved hearing about their families, and their blogs. They made me laugh and cry and then laugh some more.

I was blessed to spend time with my sister, Traci ( Beneath my Heart). We got to catch up on  some sister time. We talked a lot about our Mom and how much we still miss her. It’s always good to share with someone who understands how you feel. Thanks Sis!!

I was blessed to meet and talk with Sally Clarkson. Her love for the Lord and her gentle spirit reminded me of my Mom. I have started reading her book, Seasons of a Mother’s Heart and I’m loving it!

Thank you Sarah Mae, Jessica Heights and Dana Adams for all your hard work! You did a fabulous job!!

Thank you Mom…….I continue to find blessings!  I miss you so much but I’m so thankful for your love for Jesus and for following hard after Him your whole life!
