Christmas in Heaven

Hi sweet friends! I just couldn’t bring myself to talk about a Fashionable Christmas today after yesterday’s tragic events.

My heart has ached every since I heard the news of the school shooting. Like many of you, I wonder why? Why do these tragedies keep happening?

I also wonder when we as a nation are going to see that taking Christ out of everything is not the answer. When are we going to realize that we need God?

I can’t begin to imagine what these families are going through but I believe that those young children are in heaven and I wonder what Christmas in heaven will be like………..

Believing in Him,
Cyndi

Christmas and Compassion International

The Christmas season is here and as always we’re inundated with deals, sales, and the pressure of buying, buying, and buying. Let me begin by saying I get sucked into the pressure like everyone else! I want to find the perfect gifts for family and friends who probably already have more than what they need.

But I want more! No I’m not talking about material things. I want to DO more, GIVE more, and LOVE more. I want to make an eternal difference.

I have recently gotten involved with Compassion International. Compassion exists as a Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enables them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults.

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to sponsor a child. Here’s my sweet Jenifer that I sponsor. Jenifer is from Peru and I have the privilege of making a difference in her life.

I keep her picture on my refrigerator to remind me to pray for Jenifer daily.

I hope you know, I would not share a ministry with you that I did not feel was making a difference! Please read more about Compassion International here.

Jen from Beauty and Bedlam is a friend of mine who recently got to meet her sponsored child, you can read her story here. It will bless you!

To sponsor a child you only have to give $38 a month. I am more than willing to give up a new dress or blouse to sponsor Jenifer.

But I know for some of you sponsoring a child might not be feasible at this time. Money is tight and I undersand!

Compassion has a gift catalog where you can give a one time donation to a specific need. How cool is that? Instead of Black Friday, Cyber Monday,  it’s Giving Tuesday. I love it!

If you’ve been looking for a way you can give back this Christmas season, why not give to Compassion International. You CAN make an eternal difference in a child’s life!

Have you ever heard of Compassion International?

Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me. Matthew 25:40

Christmas 2011 and Some Fashion

Hey Friends!

Well, Christmas 2011 is now over and I’m not going to lie, I’m kind of glad. Don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas but I’m exhausted!

Christmas morning was super special because of this little guy. He smiles all the time except when we start taking pictures. He seems scared of the camera~he better get over that!

I had Christmas dinner at my house, the day after Christmas. This is my sweet brother and his family.

This is my sister, Traci and her family. They had just locked their keys in their car so they were a little frustrated. They did get it unlocked and thank goodness because I already have a house full!!

A quick picture of my family. Again Colt Allen will not smile. :-)

A picture of our precious Dad with his three amazing children (hehehe).

I am blessed with a wonderful sister and brother that I adore!

We paused to thank Jesus for all the blessings he has given our family. We are especially thankful for His love and His grace!

There’s a lot of eating, talking, and then some rest from eating too much!

Lastly, a little fashion. I’ve told you how much I love leopard print and this leopard print shrug from Banana Republic was perfect for my Christmas dinner. It was on sale, of course!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas too!

Are you glad its over or are you sad to see Christmas 2011 end?

25 Ways To Wear A Scarf!

Hello friends! I hope today finds you well and you’re enjoying these last few days before Christmas.

Things are crazy around our house~Cory, our son is home from law school. He is such a blessing to me! He is full of energy and a great sense of humor. He keeps all of us laughing.

We also have Kitty with us and her thirteen year old sister, Camille.

These girls are beautiful on the inside and on the outside and we are so thankful they have come from France to spend Christmas with us.

Courtney, Chris and Colt Allen only live about 5 minutes from our house so they are here every day too!

I am especially thankful for this little guy~~Colt Allen!

My Mom always told my sister, who has four boys to tell people~”If you think my hands are full, you should see my heart!” So, that’s my motto over the next few days!

Lastly, most of you probably know that I love to wear scarves so I wanted to share a youtube video that one of my readers shared with me (thanks Anna!). It is amazing!!

If you’re planning on wearing a scarf to one of your Christmas get togethers you will definitely want to watch this!

Merry Christmas and thank you so much for stopping by!
