8 Fall Outfits To Inspire You!

8-fall-outfits-to-inspire-you
Happy Labor day! Isn’t it great to have a day off from work (I’m hoping you have the day off)? Of course, even though I’m home today there’s lots of work I need to do around my house. Yuck!

I’m going to do some organizing and cleaning and then we’re headed to a birthday party for my Dad. I thought I’d share some fall fashion inspiration with you today. I would love to add similar looks to my fall wardrobe.

Here are 8 Fall Outfits To Inspire You. These are some of the hottest trends of the season!

This is from Ann Taylor and like the navy and black combination. I also like the oversized handbag.

This is also from Ann Taylor and of course I love that animal print skirt.

One of the hot trends this fall is the houndstooth print. I love, love, love it!! This outfit is from Banana Republic.

Houndstooth

I picked this top because of the faux leather on the shoulder. Leather is a hot trend but I probably won’t be sporting all leather pants but I could definitely pop it on my shoulders. (I’m not sure where I found this.)

The military look is “in” and I’d love to add a blazer like this to my fall wardrobe. (I’m not sure where I found this jacket.)

Stripes are still popping up everywhere and this dress is adorable. This is from White House Black Market.

We’ve talked about burgundy being a hot color for fall but teal seems to be another must-have color this fall. This outfit is from White House Black Market also.

Oh my, I love lace! This is a trend I could really get use to. This top is from Ann Taylor.

I love most of the fall trends this season. They still seem to have a very feminine look, which I like.

Which of these trends inspire you the most? Have you picked any of them up?

Fall Fashion Color-Burgundy

Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend. I’ve been looking at fall fashion colors and burgundy (it’s also called plum, and oxblood) seems to be popping up everywhere.

5 Fabulous Fall Fashion Trends

5 Fabulous fall fashion trends

I’ve been looking at a lot of fall fashion over the last several weeks and I’ve found some items that I reeeeeeeally need want. These are my 5 fabulous fall trends that I’m going to try to purchase over the next several months.

All of these items are from Banana Republic and if I had the money, I’d walk in and buy them today. But that’s not going to happen. I might get one or two at Banana Republic, if I can find them on sale. More than likely, I’ll be shopping at TJ Maxx and Marshall’s and looking for items that are similar but at a much better price.

I’ve seen these animal print coats at several stores and I love them. If I don’t purchase it myself, I’ll add it to my Christmas list. In other words, I’ll buy it, wrap it, put it under the tree and put a gift tag on it that says, “To Cyndi, From Wayne”.

Leopard Print Coat

Short boots are everywhere too and I really like this style. I know some of you have said you don’t like them, but they’re growing one me.

Black bootie

Pointed toe flats are back and I’m wanting a pair of them. I love this classic look!

pointed toe flats

I love a blazer and this large striped one is adorable! I like the whole look of this outfit and would love to copy it.

Green striped blazer

Okay, I know it’s more animal print but can a girl have too much of it? I think not.

What do you think about these fall fashion trends? Which ones are your favorite?

Did you see my video of my favorite beauty products I’ve been using this summer? If you missed it, you can go here.

Beauty For the Heart~~I found this quote in one of my Mom’s Bible’s. “There is no nobler occupation upon earth, no higher calling than that of being a mother, a true mother.”  She didn’t have the author of the quote written down. The quote made me smile, she was such an incredible mother and I miss her so much!

What I Wore-July 2013

***I’m still working on the ads that are floating on my site, they should NOT be doing that! It would help me if you could tell me what you’re seeing. I promise I will get this fixed.

Do you remember last week when I wrote my post, When Life Happens? I shared about some things going on in our families life and how busy this week would be. Well, this week is here! Yikes!

Courtney, Chris and Colt Allen are moving out today (I’ve gotten use to them being here and now I want to cry!). Cory, our son, is in Columbus, Ohio taking the Law Bar examination.

I’m leaving tomorrow morning for the Haven Conference in Atlanta, Georgia and our first foreign exchange student is flying in on Friday night.

Whew!! Things are a little crazy around my house!

I hope you don’t mind if I do a re-cap of  What I Wore-July 2013 post. These are the outfits I posted over the past month. Is July really over? Are you kidding me?

Tie It Together Thursday-Adding Accessories

I’m excited about my new feature, Tie It Together Thursday! This is where you send me a picture of an outfit and I add the accessories.

I’m NOT a professional stylist. Just a girl who loves to accessorize! It’s fun to take an ordinary outfit and make it pop!

Krista, sent me this Ann Taylor dress~~It. is. adorable! She only paid $25 for it! But I do think it needs some accessories to make it pop. I love the square neckline and the silver zipper.

Tie It Together Thursday

So here’s how I styled it. Black & white is on trend so I went with that color scheme. When wearing a square neckline, I like to stay with a choker style necklace. This neckline definitely draws your eye straight to the neck.

Tie It Together Thursday

I love these Enzo Angiolini’s pumps. They are the perfect mix. They combine the comfortable height of a mid-heel with the trendiness of a cap toe. Macy’s $130 (I know a little expensive but they looked so good with this dress).

Tie It Together Thursday

Krista had mentioned wearing a black boot to take this look into fall. Here I paired the outfit with a  Nine West Metra Bootie. Its sleek and sassy style will dress up your look in no time. DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) $74.95

Here are the other accessories:

GUESS Earrings, Silver-Tone Large Hoop $15

Tie It Together Thursday
Silvertone Circle & Square Bracelet-$44.00 ( I love this bracelet! You could wear it with so many outfits.)

Tie It Together Thursday
Charter Club Necklace, Five Strand Jet Bead-$38
Tie It Together Thursday
Jessica McClintock Handbag, Satin Window Evening Clutch $55.99 (sale price)

Okay so let’s be honest, most of us are NOT going to spend this much money on the accessories. But these are just ideas. You certainly can look at them and then try to find them cheaper.

It takes me quite a while to put these looks together so I don’t alway have the time to find the cheapest alternatives.

If it were me, I might spend my money on the the shoes in the first picture and then add accessories I already have in my closet. First, I would try to find the same shoes but at a cheaper price.

So what do you think? How would you style this dress?

Accessorizing a Chevron Dress

One of the things I love to do, is to accessorize an outfit. I use to not put much effort into accessorizing but the last several years I’ve realized that to make an outfit really pop, accessorizing is a must.

That’s why I was super excited when Richella, a friend of mine who happens to have an amazing blog called Imparting Grace, sent me this picture of a dress she said she needed help accessorizing. I quickly jumped at the offer!

Richella said the color of the dress is navy and yellow. It’s perfect for summer but I think a few accessories would make this dress look fabulous. Obviously the dress already makes a statement with the chevron pattern so I think it only needs one other statement piece.

Accessorizing a Chevron Dress

I found this gorgeous necklace at Francesca’s (which is one of my favorite stores to buy jewelry). It has the navy blue and yellow in it but it also has some other colors. The dress and the necklace are our statement pieces and so everything else needs to be neutral. You can find the necklace here. Price $28.00

Accessorizing a Chevron Dress

I found these strappy nude sandals at Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW) and thought they would be adorable with this dress. You can find them here. Price $49.99.

Accessorizing a Chevron Dress
Next since clutches are so popular I thought this one would be perfect. I found this clutch at Dillard’s. Your clutch does not have to match your shoes but because the dress and necklace have so much color, I thought it would be best to keep the clutch neutral. If I did a color, it would be navy blue. Price $69.30

Accessorizing a Chevron Dress

Here are the items all together. I would keep the earrings simple, small hoops or studs. If you want to you could add a gold watch and a thin gold bracelet.

Accessorizing a Chevron Dress

What do you think about the accessories? How would you accessorize this dress?

I’m thinking about adding this feature to my blog. Anyone who would like to, could send a picture of an outfit they would like accessorized. It would be Accessorizing Thursday except I don’t like that title. I need a catchy one! Any thoughts??

Let me know what you think and if you want, start sending me some pictures to cyndispivey(at)gmail(dot)com. Richella didn’t give me budget, which can be dangerous, so if you want to stick to a certain price limit you might want to let me know that. :-)
