Stitch Fix Questions Answered!

Stitch Fix Questions Answered

Good morning! I get lots of emails about Stitch Fix. So today I thought I’d try to answer some of your questions. I posted about it here too.

Stitch Fix is a personal styling service. A group of stylists put together 5 stylish pieces of clothing (sometimes jewelry and/or accessories items are included) and ship them directly to you!  It’s a great way to add to your current wardrobe and get a hold of pieces that you might otherwise not have access to. No two Fixes are alike. Each one is hand–picked just for you.

Everyone has to fill out a detailed style profile with questions about your size, how you like your clothes to fit, and areas you want them to focus on.

But one of the questions I get the most, is the pricing. So I took a screen shot of the pricing. You pick between these 5 prices: The cheaper the better, $50-$100, $100-$150, $150-$200, and $200+

I can’t speak for everyone’s fix but generally the prices for each item in my box have ranged from $30 to $120.

They also ask you what you think of styles from these pictures: Do you love it, like most, like some, or don’t like much at all.

Some of you asked to see my profiles and this is it: I love this!

I like some of these pieces.

I don’t like this much at all. This is way to casual for me.

I don’t like this one either. There are pieces of it that are okay but at first glance it’s not me.

I like most of these (just not the boyfriend jeans). It’s a fun, casual look.

I like most of this look. It’s classic and I like it!

Last but not least, this is the place you check out! This is a screen shot of three of my five items. The price you see is the total of each piece. If I wanted the $32 necklace and that was it, I would pay $12 because they would take the $20 styling fee I paid up front out of that total. $12 would be my final price. Tax and shipping are included in the prices and styling fee. Does that make sense?

Also, you only get a fix when you want it. They have a calendar with the dates available and you pick what works for you. It doesn’t have to be every month.

Whew! I hope this helps, it could be more information than you wanted!

Are there any other questions that you want answered?

Dark Circles Be Gone!

I shared with you on Tuesday that I have dark circles under my eyes and I was even brave enough to show you a picture of my dark circles. Today I’m going to share with you what I’m using to cover up those dark circles. Drumroll please!

The first product is The PORE fessional by Benefit. This minimizes the appearance of pores and fine lines. Basically it fills in the fine lines around my eyes and doesn’t allow my concealer to maximize them. It’s great! You can use it anywhere you have lines on your face, I also use it around my lip area.

Dark Circles Be Gone!

The next product is lemon aid by Benefit. This is a corrector, we’ve talked about corrector’s before and this one is amazing!  This will wake your eyes up!  It helps to hide redness & dark circles with just a dab. In a snap, eyes look refreshed.  I will never be without this corrector, it’s good!

Dark Circle Be Gone!

Lastly, I use Tarte’s Maracuja Creaseless Concealer. This is amazing too! It’s a full coverage concealer with skin soothing ingredients. A little bit goes a long way! This velvety concealer is also ideal for masking discoloration and imperfections such as acne, blemishes, redness, scars, and hyper-pigmentation. (disclosure: this is an affiliate link)

Dark Circles Be Gone!

Okay, that’s my 3 step process to covering up my pesky dark circles. It’s quick and easy, I promise! But these products really work and so far, they’re the best I’ve found. And believe me, I’ve tried a lot of products!

before and after 2

Would any of you like a video tutorial of how to apply this? I might get brave and try to do one! Let me know!

How To Dress Narrow Shoulders

I thought it was only fair since we talked about How To Dress Broad Shoulders on Tuesday that we talk about How To Dress Narrow Shoulders today.

How To Dress Narrow Shoulders

I think I would be in the narrow shoulders category (my shoulders are definitely narrower than my hips!).

Here are some tips if you have narrow shoulders:

  • Make sure that your shoulder seams are at the right place and fit perfectly, which means that the seam extends just past your natural shoulder.
  • Puffy sleeves work well (although I’m not seeing a lot of puffy sleeves right now).

How to Dress Narrow Shoulders

  • On shirts, the bigger the collar, the better! Also scarves look great if you have narrow shoulders.
  • Cap sleeves also work well as long as you don’t have large arms, then I would go with a little longer sleeve.
  • A wide v-neck also leads the eye to the side which has a broadening effect.

How To Dress Narrow Shoulders

  • Use shoulder pads to widen shoulders (subtly of course).
  • Opt for wider straps instead of smaller ones.
  • You can scrunch your sleeves a bit and blouse up your upper arm area, which draws attention up and away.

Remember, these are just general rules. For instance, I have narrow shoulders but I don’t like a square neck. But I do think these are good guidelines!

If you have narrow shoulders, do you think most of these work for you? Did you see my post on How To Dress Broad Shoulders?

Beauty For the Heart~~This is a great verse for us as women. “In the same way, older women are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not addicted to much wine. They are to teach what is good, so they may encourage the young women to love their husbands and to love their children, to be self-controlled, pure, homemakers, kind, and submissive to their husbands, so that God’s message will not be slandered.”  Titus 2:3-5

We have a responsibility to train and encourage younger women. To do that, we need to be mature in our relationship with Christ. It’s important that we are growing in holiness!

Several of these pieces I already have like a chambray shirt, denim jacket, white t-shirt, and white collared shirt. All I need to do is start adding some color in accessories, pants, skirts etc.

Which outfit is your favorite? Are you ready to start adding color this spring?
