My New Favorite Accessory

Hey friends! I have a new favorite accessory and I had to share it with you! Can you guess by looking at this close up picture?

My New Favorite Accessory

It’s contact lenses!! I’m soooo excited! I had tried them before but I could never wear them. I recently went to a new eye doctor, Dr. Jeff Klosterman, so if you live anywhere close, I highly recommend him.

I don’t know about you but after turning 40 my eye sight started getting bad. I’m farsighted but I was having trouble seeing at a distance too. I had to wear my glasses all the time if I wanted to see. Ugh!

The contacts I had tried before would help me see at a distance but I still needed reading glasses. I didn’t like that.

Dr. Klosterman had multifocal contacts which helps you see up close and at a distance. He felt sure he could get me wearing contacts.

My New Favorite Accessory

He has a large selection of different brands but felt Air Optix would be a good fit for me. He put me in the first pair and said we’d start with them. He compared it to riding a bike with training wheels. If I liked them we’d move up to the next pair.

I loved them! But the next week, we tweaked my prescription just a little and now they’re even better! I don’t have to wear glasses at all.

I can see my iphone (I can’t believe it!) and I can see at a distance. No more saying, “Hold on let me put my glasses on so I can read that.”

I put my contacts in first thing in the morning and they’re the last thing I take out at night. I couldn’t be happier!!

So if you are looking for a great eye doctor, I highly recommend Dr. Jeff Klosterman. He has a beautiful new office located at 125 Collin Drive, Harrodsburg, Ky., and you can tell him I sent you! (Office #859-734-2020)

Summer Fashion With Golden Tote

Yesterday, I shared this Etched Print Top I received in my June Golden Tote. I first shared about Golden Tote in April.

Summer Fashion With Golden Tote

Golden Tote is a fun way to shop! It’s the ultimate “Surprise Grab Bag” filled with clothing and accessories for women.

Summer Fashion With Golden Tote

Golden Tote works with carefully selected fashion brands. They curate an eclectic assortment of treasures and package them all up in a custom tote bag for one amazing price.

Think of them as your personal shoppers, stylists, and designers that are scoring you some major fashion finds for an incredible price. I explained the process in detail here.

Basically, you spend $49 and get up to $200 in items or you spend $149 and get up to $600 in items. That’s a great deal!

I picked the $149 tote. I got to pick two items and they surprised me with the rest. I chose the Etched Print Top and the Chambray Boyfriend Shirt (I can’t never have enough chambray shirts!).

Summer Fashion With Golden Tote
They surprised me with this nautical shirt. Perfect for summer!

Summer Fashion With Golden Tote

I also received these Puella Slouchy pants. When I first saw them, I thought I wouldn’t like them but I love them!! They feel like pajamas!

Summer Fashion With Golden Tote

I love a comfortable tank top and this one is perfect! I love the color too!

Summer Fashion With Golden Tote

Lastly, they sent me this adorable dress. I like it, but it’s a little too short. That will make my daughter very happy because I’m gifting it to her!

Summer Fashion With Golden Tote

Golden Tote is an “all or nothing” deal. So if you want to send it back, you have to send the entire bag. They recommend gifting it to someone else.

Also, they have a Golden tote Trading Group on Facebook. You can swap and trade items that may not work for you with other Golden Tote customers.

So what do you think? Do you want to give Golden Tote a try? Go here to log in and check out their FAQ page for more information.

Beauty For the Heart~~You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Psalm 26:3

Red Letter Words For Mother’s Day

Well, it’s Derby day here in Kentucky! The whole state is kind of buzzing. I’ve never been to the derby but I always watch it on t.v. It’s a great day for our state!

One of the emails I receive the most often is not fashion related. It’s about the Trust in the Lord wall art in the background of my pictures from Red Letter Words.

Red Letter Words

The artist and designer is Dee Kasberger and she’s a friend of mine. We met several years ago at a blogging conference and we’ve stayed in touch through social media.

I order from a lot places online but it’s so nice to order from someone I know is a Christian and believes in the art work she’s creating. Dee is such a sweet lady and I love her artwork.

There are so many prints to choose from but here are a few of them.

Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

It’s time to start thinking about Mother’s Day gift ideas! Although I no longer have my Mom with me, I picked these gifts out thinking of her and what she might like.

Mother's Day Gift Ideas
Of course, Mother’s day is the perfect time to give any Mom a gift. Do you have a daughter or daughter-in-law that’s a Mom? I’m sure they would love one of these gifts!

Dayspring has some wonderful christian gifts. My Mom would have loved that tea cup. She loved hot tea and the cup is unique with a wonderful reminder on it, live a grateful life.

Mother's Day Gift Ideas

1. Lisa Leonard – Love and Laurel Necklace// 2. Urban Soul – Plans – Charcoal Wall Art, Set of 3// 3. Daily Grace – Live a Grateful Life – Teacup & Saucer// 4. Sarah Young – Jesus Calling – Large Deluxe Edition (one of my favorites!)//  5. Urban Soul – Fruit of the Spirit – Chocolate Wall Art// 6. Amazing Grace – Gallery Wrapped Canvas Print

I’ve recently teamed up with Stella & Dot and I’m crazy over their jewelry. I’m at the stage of  life that I want to have some nice jewelry that doesn’t “turn” after a few months and jewelry can make an outfit!

Here are some things I think any Mom would love.

Mother's Day Gift Ideas

1. Elephant handbag// 2. Sanibel reversible pendant// 3. Jackie link bracelet// 4. Mercer zip wallet

If you have a Mom or daughter that loves makeup and beauty products, Birchbox would make a fun gift. A 3 month subscription is $30, 6 month subscription is $60 and a 12 month subscription is $110.

Mother's Day Gift Ideas
Do you have any gift ideas for Mother’s day?

Beauty For the Heart~~I thought I’d share my Mom’s favorite verse. She shared this verse with me so many times. John 14:27, Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Have a blessed day!

Decorating My Back Patio

Some of you have asked if I would share pictures of our home so I’m showing our back patio area today. We had a beautiful weekend here, so I decided to head outside and work on my back patio. I started weeding some of our landscaping which was way over do.

Decorating My Back Patio

This is a picture of the back of our house. We’ve lived here 5 years and I’ve always struggled with “warming up” this area.

Decorating My Back Patio

When we bought our home, the porch was tiny. We added the large area where all our furniture and hot tub is now. It was one of the first things we did because we love to grill, and sit outside in the summer.

Decorating My Back Patio

I saw this Bed Bath & Beyond catalog and decided to add some color to our porch.

Decorating My Back Patio

I added some pillows from Bed Bath& Beyond, the pattern is called Wildwood. I loved all the colors!

This is another area and it needs more color. I’ve ordered chair cushions in Wildwood.

Decorating My Back Patio

I ordered the cushions for my chairs around my table too. The rug under my table is from Bed Bath & Beyond too and you can find it here.

Decorating My Back Patio

We added landscaping lights and they look great at night. It definitely helps.

Decorating My Back Patio

I put this collage on Instagram. I need to add flowers but I’ll wait until Mother’s day weekend.

Decorating My Back Patio
Lastly, I snapped this picture over the weekend. It reminds be of how great our God is!

Decorating My Back Patio

I share a lot of pictures on Instagram, if you’d like to follow along you can follow me here!

Have a blessed day!
