Fashion Friday-Pinterest Inspired

Happy Friday friends!! Today I’m sharing a Pinterest inspired outfit. I’ve had these green shorts for a while but hadn’t worn them. I saw this outfit on Pinterest and decided to give them a try.

I love her necklace but I don’t like wearing one on the outside of my shirts, it’s not comfortable so my outfit is a little more plain. But don’t you love how my cell phone case matches my outfit? Ha!

I added some green earrings and gold sandals. I’m headed out to do some shopping and I love wearing a chambray shirt because it makes trying on clothes easy. (Pin source here.)

I have two different chambray shirts on in these pictures. I couldn’t decide which one I liked better. There’s not that much difference.

Don’t you love using Pinterest to help with outfit ideas?

I’m still overwhelmed with all the emails I’m getting after writing about menopause. I’m still answering them so if you haven’t heard from me yet, bear with me!

So many of you are ordering ylang ylang from Young Living, that I’m afraid they may run out! I’m glad I have plenty!

Fashion For Women Over 40+Menopause

Well, I was overwhelmed with your emails from my post yesterday. OVERWHELMED!! I wish I could hug each of you! I cannot believe how many of us our suffering from menopause, and to be honest, we’re suffering silently. I pray we can help each other through this season of our life.

If I haven’t answered your email yet, I will!!

For those of you not interested in Essential Oils, don’t worry, this is still a fashion & beauty blog. I’m not changing that!! But I do want to share about healthy lifestyles from time to time so I hope you’ll bear with me.

We’ve had some crazy summer weather here in Kentucky. We had a mild day so I pulled out this light crew neck layered sweater. (For some reason my camera blurred me instead of the background, I guess it thought the background was prettier!!)

Fashion For Women Over 40+Menopause

It’s perfect for a mild day. I’m wearing a white tank tucked in under the sweater. The sweater and the off white piece are attached. Does that make sense? I added my favorite Stella & Dot necklace.

Now to Young Living Essential Oils!

I could write forever about these oils but most of you asked how I use them? Where do I put them?

There are 3 ways to use essential oils:

1. Inhalation (Diffuse or inhale directly from the bottle)

2. Topical Application (Place 2-3 drops of oil in the palm of your hand or on the desired application area. Massage the oil in a circular motion onto the skin. Repeat as necessary.

3. Internal Consumption (Some of the oils can be taken internally. We can talk more about this later.)

This 6 minute video explains it PERFECTLY. I think if you’ll take just a few minutes to watch it, you’ll understand it much better!

Now really quick let me introduce the Vita Flex Foot Chart. This may sound crazy to you if you’ve never heard of it but you’re feet are a great place to massage your oils.

This chart not only shows where your organs are on the bottom of your feet but also where to rub certain oils.

If you notice on the chart women’s reproductive organs are on the side of the feet. That’s where I rub Ylang Ylang and Clary Sage.

I know it sounds crazy but it works for me and many other women. Also, there’s a great Pinterest board with lots of information on essential oils. These ladies know what they’re talking about and I trust their information. Go here to follow this board.

Okay, ask away! I’ll be sharing some other oils that would be good for menopause this week. If you want to join me and sign up with Young Living go here.

Beauty For the Heart~~“People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway. If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway. For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.” -Mother Teresa

Have a blessed day!

Friday Fashion For Women Over 40

Well, I was overwhelmed by your comments yesterday. Truthfully, I’m thankful there are women in the same boat that I’m in with menopause, peri-menopause and hormones. We’re in this together ladies!

I’m also excited that I can share some things that have worked for me. I would love to interview my husband and let him share with you all the difference that my essential oils have made in my overall physical health. He can tell a difference!

Let’s be clear, I’m not a doctor but I think most OBGYN’s agree that there are risks with hormone supplements. That’s why it’s important you do the research and do what’s best for YOU. Essential oils have worked for me and the great thing is, there are NO bad side effects. Yay!

More about my crazy hormones and what I’m doing to control them next week! Now let’s get on with Friday Fashion for Women over 40.

This green blouse from Stitch Fix is probably my favorite top that I’ve worn all summer. It’s comfortable and I love the color.

I recently purchased these leopard print flats from Zappo’s and they’re my favorite pair ever!!!! I love them!! The brand is Roper and they run about 1/2 size big. I usually wear a 7 1/2 but I ordered a 7 and they fit perfectly.

Do you have an outfit or top that has been your favorite item this summer?

Beauty For the Heart~~I was thinking about how important it is for us to encourage each other. Whether it’s encouraging each other in our faith, our health, parenting etc. We all need encouragement!

Proverbs 12:25 (NLT) says, Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up.

Encourage someone today!!

Have a blessed day!

Stitch Fix For Women Over 40

Every time I get a “fix” from Stitch Fix, I question whether I should share it or not? There are lots of bloggers that share about Stitch Fix these days. But I started with them in the early days so they’re kind of like family to me.

Stitch Fix For Women Over 40

Truthfully, I’m passionate about their service because I’ve met the people behind the scenes. I shared about my Stitch Fix trip here, in case some of you missed it. They love what they do!

If I lived in San Francisco, I would be applying for a job at Stitch Fix, even if they hired me to clean the office, I would want to be a part of their team. :-)

Here’s what I got in my box this month: Lyla Beaded Hexagon Layering Necklace-$32.00

Stitch Fix For Women Over 40 Rilo Tab-Sleeve Button-Front Blouse-$68.00

Stitch Fix For Women Over 40 Annabeth Striped Shift Dress-$138.00

Stitch Fix For Women Over 40 Augusto Dot Print Sleeveless Blouse-$48.00

Stitch Fix For Women Over 40 Jaclynn 3/4Sleeve Button-Up Cardigan-$38.00.

I kept all 5 pieces this time. If you keep all 5 pieces, you get a 25% discount which came to a $76.00 discount. My total was $228.00.

If I didn’t have credit with Stitch Fix, I probably would have picked one item and that would have been the dress. Although it was the most expensive item, my husband loved it, so it was a keeper.

If you would like to try Stitch Fix you can go here to sign up!

Summer Fashion-Black & Khaki

It’s day 22 of 31 days of summer fashion. I’m heading out to get my hair cut and colored so it’s a perfect day for a hat.

If I’m going to be out in the sun all day, I like to wear a hat because it protects my hair and my face from the sun.

Do you wear hats? Have you tried a fedora hat?

***Thanks for all your sweet comments on my dress from yesterday’s post. Several of you mentioned trying a different pair of shoes. I’m going to try that and I’ll take a picture when I find something I like. Thanks!

Beauty for the Heart~~I’m wondering today, if someone might need peace in their life. Isaiah 26:3 says, You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.

Focus on Christ and trust Him, he will give you peace!
