What I Wore-September 2014

Well ladies, September is almost behind us and I can’t believe how quickly it went! The next couple of months are going to be pretty busy around here.

Tomorrow starts my 31 days of fall fashion. I’m super excited but probably about mid way, I’ll wonder what I was thinking when I said I would do it! Ha!

Then there’s November, don’t forget I have a fun surprise coming in November. I think ya’ll are going to love it!

Before we say goodbye to September, here’s a quick look back at What I Wore.

What I Wore September 2014

I love this floral blouse I received in one of my Stitch Fix boxes. I’m a little afraid of the floral trend because I feel it can make women over 40 look a little “old lady” if we’re not careful. But this floral blouse was doable!

What I Wore-September 2014

I had no idea that so many of you would dislike the camouflage pants. Woa! But here’s the thing, I like them. I’ve already worn them again and I styled them with a black sleeveless tank. My husband also likes them on me, so you might see them again. Don’t hate me.

What I Wore-September 2014

I purchased this dress from Loft and I thought I could wear it well into fall with boots and a black blazer or denim jacket.

What I Wore-September 2014

I mixed and matched prints here. Some of you liked it and some of you didn’t. I think it’s a fun look! I purchased my leopard print flats from Zappo’s.

What I Wore-September 2014

I brought out the ankle boots and kept this outfit simple with a white t-shirt and leopard print scarf.

On a cooler day adding my military jacket will be perfect. I also talked about How To Style A Military Jacket.

What I Wore-September 2014

I purchased this blouse and jeans from LOFT. Someone emailed me and said they had purchased the jeans and loved them. Yay!

What I Wore-September 2014

I recently got these burgundy cords in my Stitch Fix box and I love them! They’re Kut From the Kloth and you can find them here. My loafers I purchased at Old Navy.

What I Wore-September 2014

There you go, that’s what I wore in September! Are you ready for October?

Beauty For the Heart~~I read this scripture yesterday and I couldn’t get it out of my mind. It’s Psalm 34:5, Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.”

Wow! This is what I’m striving for. I want to look radiant not because of what I’m wearing but because of who I’m looking to. Jesus can make us shine!

Have a blessed day!

Fashion Friday For Women Over 40

Happy Friday friends! It’s Fashion Friday For Women Over 40. Fall weather has come to Kentucky, so today I’m sharing an easy outfit that is perfect for early fall.

These are basic pieces that most of us have in our closet. A white t-shirt, scarf, and a pair of jeans.

Fashion Friday For Women Over 40
I’m so excited about wearing booties this fall. I found these at Old Navy. The heel is perfect and they’re comfortable.

Usually the weather is cool in the mornings and it warms up in the afternoon. To start the day, I grabbed my military jacket.

The Old Navy ankle boots will sell out quick, I went ahead and bought a black pair too. They only come in whole sizes. I wear a 7 1/2 but wore an 8 in this boot. Just thought I’d let you know in case you order them online.

Are you going to wear the ankle boots this fall?

Beauty For the Heart~~Tomorrow I’m headed to a Living Proof Live Simulcast with Beth Moore. I love getting together with sisters in Christ! And truthfully, I feel like I need it. Being in full-time ministry can be draining. Don’t get me wrong, I love it but it’s good to get away and be renewed and refreshed.

Since I’m going to hear Beth tomorrow, I’ll share a quote from her.

We’re going to have to let truth scream louder to our souls than the lies that have infected us. – Beth Moore

Amen and have a Blessed day!

Mixing Prints-Fashion For Women Over 40

Happy Hump day friends! One of the things I’ve noticed lately is mixing animal print with polka dots. I think it’s a great way for women over 40 to add a trendy touch to an outfit.

Here’s a picture from J’s Everyday Fashion blog. She’s wearing a polka dot blouse with a leopard print belt. (Obviously, she’s not over 40.)

I decided to pull out my Kendrick Polka Dot blouse and add my leopard print shoes. It’s a fun look.

I love my Stella & Dot initial necklace and I’ve worn it a lot this summer. They’re fall jewelry that’s out is gorgeous!

Beauty For the Heart~~“I have learned that in every circumstance that comes my way, I can choose to respond in one of two ways: I can whine or I can worship! And I can’t worship without giving thanks. It just isn’t possible. When we choose the pathway of worship and giving thanks, especially in the midst of difficult circumstances, there is a fragrance, a radiance, that issues forth out of our lives to bless the Lord and others.” -Nancy Leigh DeMoss
