MNG by Mango at JCPenney

Sometimes I’m surprised by a brand of clothing. That was the case with MNG by Mango at JCPenney

My sister and I went shopping before our trip to San Francisco. I was helping her pick out some clothes and we happened to look at the the MNG by Mango brand.

I had never looked at it before and at first glance, I didn’t think I would like it. But we decided to try a few things on and surprisingly I loved it!

MNG by Mango is a contemporary collection with very reasonable prices.

It’s a casual look and I’m wearing my David Kind glasses. I like that the blouse is long in the back too. :-)

Spring Fashion Trends You Can Wear

It’s 4 degrees here this morning but for some reason, I have spring fashion trends on my mind. I love to look ahead and see what we’ll be wearing in a few short months!

They say that fashion is cyclical and everything eventually comes back in fashion. It looks like the nineties are back in full swing this runway season.

Here’s a preview of the Pantone Fashion Color Report for Spring 2014.  It’s a pairing of soft pastels with vivid brights to create a colorful equilibrium.

Remember, just because something is on trend, it doesn’t mean we have to wear it. It’s important to know what looks best on you and then add a few of those trends to your wardrobe.

One of the trends coming back this spring is the crop top. Ugh! This is one of those trends that  a lot of people seem to wear even when they don’t have a flat stomach. This is not a trend that I’m going to be wearing. Imagine that!

Pleated skirts are coming back and they’re wearing them below the knee. I know a lot of women will like this longer length. Maxi skirts will still be stylish this spring.

The shirt dress is a cute trend. It’s comfortable and will be perfect for warmer weather.

A lot of you have asked about floral. It’s going to be popular this spring. I think it’s one of those patterns you have to be careful wearing. It can make you look older.

Collared shirts are popular for spring and of course I love this trend.

Pastels will be everywhere. Although I like a more vivid color, I’m sure I’ll add some pastels to my wardrobe.

So what do you think of the spring fashion trends? Are you a fan of any of them?

I’ll be adding spring clothes to my Spring/Summer Pinterest board if you want to follow along!

I’m Thinking Green and I Have a Favor

Well, in case you haven’t heard, green is going to be a hot color for 2013. So, of course I’m thinking green!

I’ve always been a fan of green. I remember as a little girl, my parents were in the process of building a home and Mom let my sister, brother and I pick out the color of carpet we each wanted in our rooms (what was she thinking?).  My brother picked blue, my sister picked yellow and I picked green.

I’m not planning on putting green carpet in my home anytime soon but I will be adding some green to my basic wardrobe. Here’s some fashion inspiration from Jessica Quirk from the What I Wore blog.

I’m in love with this next outfit, green with a leopard print coat and shoes. Could it get any better?

I'm-Thinking-Green 4

I’ve been getting a ton of emails (I do my best to answer them all) with questions like what’s a good lip color for women over 40, can I wear leggings, what about headbands, etc.

If you have a question related to fashion would you leave a comment here with your question. I’m going to do a post or posts dedicated to YOUR questions. I love that you ask them and my guess is if you’re wandering, other readers are too!

So please ask away and let’s have fun learning together!

Beauty For the Heart~~Esther 4:14b, “Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?” Even though we may not be a queen, this verse reminds me that we are each here at this time in history for a reason. We have a purpose and God wants to use us for His glory!

Favorite “Pins” Friday and a Link Up

Happy Friday Friends!! Today I’m sharing some of my Favorite “pins” and I’ve been pinning some things I’d like to wear to a Christmas celebration at church or with family and friends.

Two things I’m really liking are sequins and fur. Here’s a look at some of my ideas!

I love, love this outfit. How cute would that be at a family get together. I know Old Navy has sequins tank tops so I might be buying one soon.

Simply gorgeous!

I love faux fur this time of the year. Such a great blazer with the added fur.

You can’t go wrong with black and I’m loving this black fur vest.

What do you think? Do you like sequins and fur?

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend!

Now for the linky party!

What I Wore-My Style

Well my style this week is sweaters! It’s definitely sweater weather here in Kentucky, it’s co-old! I love winter clothes, which is one of the only good things about winter. I don’t like cold weather!

Last Friday on Pinterest, I shared my love of off-white sweaters. I forgot I had picked out this sweater from Ragaaza Bazaar and I received it in the mail on Saturday. You can check find the sweater here.

Black Boots-Can’t remember

Scarf-Target (I wear this scarf all the time, I love it!)
White Camisole-SNUG camisoles
Gray Cardigan-Old Navy

Brown Boots-Marshall’s

Several of you have asked about my silver bracelet that I wear a lot. I think it’s Silpada, it was given to me by a friend after my Mom passed away. The charm has an angel on one side and the words, Watch over me, inscribed on the other side. As you can imagine, it means a lot to me!! It reminds me of God’s faithfulness.

Is the weather cold in your area? Have you started wearing sweaters yet?
